Lovely room, lovely food

Reviewed By Sarah M

Lovely friendly welcome, the room was beautiful- clean and tastefully decorated with lots of little extras like bottled water, a coffee machine, lovely toiletries and a private outside table on the terrace. We are in the restaurant and it was delicious, as was breakfast. Plenty of choice and really good tea and coffee. Parking was easy and free and Warwick town is only a few minutes’ walk away, where there are plenty of things to see and do.

Wonderful stay

Reviewed By MAP12

I booked here because I like the Hotel Indigo chain. I didn't know at the time that it was a historic hotel or rated as high as it is. It was WELL worth the stay. Location was GREAT - near to everything - we were able to walk everywhere. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it. We did have a couple small problems to note. First off, we did drive here and their parking was limited. We were able to get in, but I can see a time when people wouldn't be able to. I don't think it would be a problem finding parking somewhere else - but it's something to consider. The other problem was that we couldn't get into the restaurant because it was booked solid. This was a minor problem because there are many other restaurants within easy walking distance, but their restaurant looked SO good I would have loved to eat there. We only stayed one night, so didn't have a chance. Next time I will make a reservation before we go - or stay another day!

Great Location. Welcoming Staff

Reviewed By Gel N

On arrival Thursday 2nd June we had some difficulty parking but the member of staff on duty signing guests in, helpfully advised that the business close by was closed for the bank holiday so we could use one of their spaces which was helpful as I am a blue badge holder. He was freindly, helpful and had good local knowledge. Our room overlooked the canal and we could see swans, ducks and moorhens. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Something we always do when in hotels is clean the headboard and we were disappointend to see how dirty it was and it took several wipes with our sanitising wipes to get it clean. The rest of the room was OK and the bed was comfortable. The dining and bar tables were really sticky and our hot drinks had to be tugged hard to get them off the table which was worrying. We thought that the spraying of sanitising solution caused the dirt and possibly polished surface of the tablle to lift. A good wash with good old fashioned washing powder or washing up liquid, warm water and s soft brush or sponge would have removed the sticky residue. The food was good and front of house staff were professional and helpful. We were especially pleased to see a good diversity of staff who represented staff with some disabilities which was incredible, well done !! We had a very good stay with just the two issues of dirty headboard and sticky tables and a potential issue with the number of parking spaces especially blue badge spaces could potentially affect our decision to stay there again.

Excellent hotel in downtown Stratford

Reviewed By Rogers222

Excellent location, easy walk to the main train station, the theatres, and the Shakespeare historical sites. Lots of small restaurants and shops nearby. Staff is friendly and helpful - went out of their way to help us with train times and other small arrangements. My only quibble is that the breakfast restaurant opens too late, and that the rooms annoyingly are given names rather than numbers.

Hot rooms.. Tiny Breakfast.

Reviewed By Willger

The hotel is tired , the beds are extremely soft one might even say collapsed. The rooms are a fair size but the furniture is small and uncomfortable to use for any time ie answering emails at the table . Wi-Fi worked well . However the Air conditioning is useless, stayed in two room during my stay both were far too hot the air con was as effective as a 1970s car heater. You set the air conditions and nothing happens , the fan speed seems to never work when you want that boost after being out all day. ended up having to sleep just under the Duvet cover both nights. With the duvet thrown on to the chair. However the shower is possibly the most powerful one I have ever had in a UK hotel. Although again the handle placement made it awkward to use as I kept hitting it with a shoulder or my back. Then finally the breakfast, the smallest portioned FULL English breakfast in my 30 years of business travel. One fried egg cooked Fock solid, one slice bacon from piglet, one flat cap mushroom, a table spoon of backed beans and the one cheap sausage that was more vegetarian than pork. If you are a small person with 5% body fat this is the hotel for you. on plus side the staff are friendly and very helpful, shame the facilities don’t come up to the standard of the staff.
