Great place to stay

Reviewed By Cherriesfan99

We really enjoyed our last minute break in sunny Swindon. Everything was very good about the Jurys Inn, great central location but still very quiet, We missed out on brown / granary bread but otherwise our breakfast was very good, and like the rest of the hotel the staff were excellent, all helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Great place to stay - very near to the rail station, the Steam experience and main high street.

However staff were friendly . Bar/restaurant needs more staff as one night we waited 10 mins to be served as no staff were around .

Wonderful experience - Banquet Dinner in the Lydiard Suite, Friday 20th May 2022

Reviewed By Alanaf001

I recently used the hotel for hosting a banquet dinner for over 200 guests. The Lydiard Suite was absolutely fantastic, such a beautiful set up for our needs and was more than I had expected when securing the venue. I was very impressed with the hotels management of the occasion, even with having to accommodate some last minute changes. They went above and beyond to make the evening a success. Jessica and her team were more than pleased to take everything on board for me no matter how big or small. Really a life saver when you need the right people to manage this side of event planning. I was confident in leaving the final details to the team, knowing it would get done. Very reassuring to have when you're on a limited time frame and budget. The pricing was very reasonable compared to other venues and even more affordable than some. Andy and his team on the night ensured the guests were looked after, served promptly and all within such a friendly, welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Service was professional and efficient throughout the evening. I especially loved the food, and had many positive comments on the menu options (which was personally tailored for this type of dinner), again showing how well they can handle every little detail. I've never had previous venues make such an effort as the Hilton did in order to make sure the evening was a success. I cannot fault the event overall, and am very happy with hotel - now I know they can accommodate our needs I'll definitely wish to book again in future.

Standing in over 30 acres of peaceful, secluded grounds on the edge of the Cotswolds, the privately-owned Cricklade House offers a traditional, warm and friendly welcome for those in search of tranquility, comfort, good food and wine, with extensive recreational facilities.

Disappointing and non-existent communication.

Reviewed By JoDaGaBraGeo

This place has gone downhill. Having enjoyed several overnight stays over the years for functions, this time was really disappointing. The function itself was enjoyable and the food really good but the room was in need of complete redecorating. It smelled damp on entering, there was mould around the windows and on the walls in places. Cobwebs in the corners and generally grubby. The ‘king size’ bed was 2 singles pushed together making an uncomfortable ridge down the middle. The breakfast was also disappointing as we have always enjoyed a full English on previous stays, but there was only self serve continental this time. We also had to ask for tea & coffee after having been seated for at least 10 mins. Before it was always offered immediately on being seated. The worst thing, however is that having emailed our concerns twice over 2 weeks to the venue, we have had no acknowledgment or reply. (The website states that they will respond in the same day!) We were really looking forward to a mini-break combined with the function that we were attending, but it was just an expensive alternative to a taxi!

Bloody hell

Picked here as the cheapest option for a layover. Staff were friendly and the only positive (genuinely the staff couldn't be nicer). We checked in late to our room only to find it looking like a set from Criminal Minds. A few large blood stains on the carpet which kind of ruined the experience. We were later told they were waiting on head office replacing them. The beds weren't the most comfortable. And the room obviously lacked some cleaning with a discarded beer can stuffed under the TV. If the staff see this you were great, if management see this please sort out the carpets and the rooms. For the sake of £40 it's worth it

Better than expected

I was impressed with the comfortable bed and pillows and overall quiet night. Only issue was a young family upstairs, kids jumping on the beds till about 11.30pm, would probably be better to have young families downstairs.
