I’ve stayed at many hotels in Southport but the Bold is by far the best, fantastic service from the off we were able to leave our case in reception prior and post stay the latter allowed us to take in the local food and drink festival with out dragging out case behind us and extended a brilliant break. Wonderfully attentive staff. We stayed in room 12 and it was lovely and clean, a nice big bed and plenty off space and nice and quiet. The bathroom was lovely and clean. In my opinion the only thing the room needed was another plug socket or 2 but that didn’t affect the stay everything was perfect and we will definitely be back

Weekend in Southport

Reviewed By Joanne220279

We spent a weekend in Southport and stayed at the Travelodge. The hotel was central to all amenities including Victoria Gardens, the beach, arcades, fairground, indoor market and shopping areas. There were several eateries and shops next door including Papa John's, B & M and Morrisons. On arrival at the hotel we were told by the friendly receptionist that there was no onsite parking facilities. The communal areas of the hotel were very clean and there were 2 lifts. Our room was very spacious and clean with tea and coffee facilities. The bed was comfortable and there was a long length mirror. There was no hair dryer in the room, but I borrowed one from reception. Each day there was 30 minutes of free WiFi, but it was possible to buy a bundle.. We would definitely stay here again, because our stay was enjoyable.

Not returning

Reviewed By helenfS4557CY

After hearing lots of nice reviews on this hotel we thought we would travel up and experience the afternoon tea with family. Very disappointed to say the least, there was 8 of us altogether and ordered afternoon tea each. When it arrived we were surprised to find tiny sandwiches, one scone and 3 very small cakes, (oh and veg crisps 3 each) no pot of tea or an alternative which really surprised us as we thought all afternoon teas came with tea or a drink of some kind. We asked for the bill and couldn’t believe it when it came to over £200 . When leaving we were still hungry and had found food somewhere else as the children were in there words “starving”. I really don’t mind paying for nice food but to come away after paying £100 per family and to go and buy more that really makes me mad. I will not be returning in the future nor recommend.

A few days away.

We booked this last minute as it was very reasonably priced and included breakfast. We received a warm welcome from Gary and Shirley. We had the small double on the 2nd floor. It was clean, tidy and had nautical features to the room. There is no view from the window but as we don't spend a great deal of time in the bedroom when visiting places, it wasn't an issue. Breakfast was freshly made, local ingredients and was cooked to taste. When Gary realised I didn't eat egg white he gave me 2 eggs which was a lovely touch. The ensuite was spotless, the shower very good and water pressure was very good. Another nice touch was having a bottle of water replaced in our room every day. The hotel location is just behind the promenade so not far to the beach. A lovely few days away.

Edendale House

Resident owners Josie and Ian would like to welcome you to Edendale House a family run guesthouse. Peace & tranquillity with friendly service. Set in a residential area of wide streets and Victorian houses. One of the very few hotels that can offer an off road parking. The dining room is delightfully decorated with breakfast served at separate tables. There are eight bedrooms situated on the first and second floors, which are accessed by stairs. Every room has a TV, clock, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary toiletries for your arrival. Every room is individually decorated and has its own thermostatically controlled central heating radiator. Edendale House is only a short walk from most of Southport's main visitor attractions, but less than an hour away from Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Preston, Lancaster, and the Lakes, perfect for a touring base.

Me and my mum stayed here as a birthday break away. We were welcomed straight away and instantly we felt at home and we knew we had come to the right place! Our room was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean! We couldn't have asked for more. Breakfast was spot on. Again, it was like we were at relatives house and we'd gone to stop the night. The whole experience was a 10/10. We will definitely be going again.
