Nice and convenient

This is an ideal hotel for a stopover. It's a little too far from the city for long term stay. Very nice touch with the regular short buggy transport from the airport on level 2 near the restaurant area. Check in was trouble free with the friendly staff. We opted for the king bed room which was large, clean, and had all necessary amenities: electric kettle, tea bags, coffee, safe, ironing board, bathroom robes, tooth brush, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer. Good sized bathroom with large shower stall. TV channels included CNN, BBC, 2 sports channels (not ESPN or other popular ones), and several China based channels. A very thoughtful feature were the 4 universal plugs. So no problems charging your phones or laptops. Not much of a view as can be expected but it was super quiet. Can't hear planes taking off or landing. Definitely an airport hotel that deserves all the awards it received.

It was a wise choice that we made to stay overnight (transit) after our trip from Bali. It was just a walking distance from the KLIA2. Service at the counter was bit slow and no one to assist us with our luggage. For the room, it is a transit standard with basic necessities, bit of entertainment hall and bar.

Just for convenience

The page looks like mixed review for Sama Sama Hotel and Sama Sama Express KLIA. I believe this is for Sama Sama Express KLIA before clearing immigration and customs. I prebooked a room for 12 hours through a hotel booking site. The check in was very smooth. The room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. Everything you need is there. It was a nice surprise that dinner and breakfast were included in the lounge area. The food there was below average, the best food was fresh fruits and packed yoghurt. However, I did appreciate the service. I think some alcohol and soft drinks were included, however, as there was no information around drinks and the staff could not be bothered to offer, and I was just happy with the hot beverage they offered, I am not certain. Given there was a bit of process to enter Malaysia, I chose to stay here this time, if things go back to normal post COVID, I would clear immigration and customs to get a room at decent hotel, accommodation is pretty reasonable in Malaysia and you would get something better at same/similar rate.

Potentially a great place but really missed the mark for my visit

Reviewed By Plexiaw

I struggled to write this review as so many positives to share but the negatives overshadowed. On the plus, absolutely excellent grounds and room. Pool looked clean and inviting, everything well maintained, several restaurants on site. (A few restaurants and spa were closed when I stayed, leftover from covid, but will assume those would open up in the future.) Room was large, wonderful bathroom, sitting area outside, fridge, etc. The location was nice, not only for cyberjaja but also to just get out of the city to a modern, less hectic area. It's also closer to KLIA airport. There is a metro station (on the KLIA line) literally right next to it, but you can't walk there. It's on the other side of a major highway interchange and there's no foot path that I could find to get over there - thus you'll still have to take a taxi or car to get to/from the station (although very short distance). On the negative, the service was very, very poor. I say this cautiously because I'm not blaming the workers. Rather, my take is that management hasn't created the right environment for them (adequate staffing, setting expectations, etc). I typically wouldn't comment negatively on service, but I was left disappointed in 5 separate incidents over a few days. I was ready to just ignore it on my last day and give the positive review, but when there was an incident at check-out, it became clear that it's a pervasive issue. Again, not attacking the workers themselves, as in all cases they were friendly and seemed as if just trying to do their jobs. It's not the servers fault that they have to cover 18 tables, etc. The final straw for me was at check-out I asked if they could call a taxi for me. The desk said they didn't know the number for a taxi. Perhaps my expectations that a front desk could call, or at least look up the number for me, seems reasonable - but clearly wasn't for them and every other hotel I stayed at during my trip was far superior in the service and support provided. So really solid facilities and room, but I couldn't just overlook the systemic service issues.

Over night stop

Except, the f&b needs to tighten up; bright part was the room service items were large in portion size and could be smaller...but, the chocolate pudding was excellent!! Cooked, items at breakfast were very poor.. the egg dish should have been made to order and the rest of the hot items were not hot! Nevertheless, still a much, much better option than being very uncomfortable in a airport terminal over night!!! Well worth a good night's sleep ??

Avoiding paying refund

Reviewed By larasiowa

I requested a refund as my flight was cancelled and was very kindly forwarded a refund application form and informed that the finance department would contact me. It has now been nearly 4 months and I have not heard anything so I contacted the hotel again to ask about this. I was informed once again that finance would contact me. I have asked how long it will take a number of times and they have stopped replying. I understand it is a difficult time for businesses such as this, but I would appreciate at least a response. I am owed a refund and I expect to receive one.
