Highly recommended - A great gateway to Chitwan National Park

We had a great guide, Janak Pariyar, who was very dedicated to ensuring that we had a very good wildlife experience in Chitwan. Janak worked tirelessly to ensure that we were in the park at the best times possible and in the best positions to see wildlife. After the long days were over, he would come back and help us fill out our species list which was much appreciated. He knew all the birds and mammals in the area and was able to spot things that were very difficult to see. He did a great job. Friendly staff and good food made my vacation to explore Chitwan National park very successful and enjoyable. We stayed there for just over a week and the rooms were clean and the eating area overlooks a river and a field where you can sometimes see elephants bathing in the water!

Peaceful and green resort surrounded by beautiful paddy fields. Mr Rajendra , Mr. Basu and other staff were very friendly and hospitable. The owner( Mr Rajendra) arranged all the transport, jungle safari and other activities smoothly. The restaurant provided excellent hot food. The resort has 24/7 running hot water. The bathrooms were clean. Good place to relax away from the noise of the city.

Amazing jungle excursions with naturalist Naval

Reviewed By innar536

Our stay was really good. Except for one day where there was a local marriage with a lot of music in the village nearby (we were simply unlucky, no responsibility from the hotel) the hotel was really calm and nice. The garden was beautiful and the rooms quite big. The restaurant was also good and the personnel cheerful and really welcoming. Particular highlight of the stay were the excursions. The hotel offer a very big variety of excursions, all very well done (we tried all except elephant riding safari). Our guide Naval was nothing short than exceptional, really nice and knowledgeble. Wifi connection was exceptionally good (it is quite important thing because mobile connection in the area is actually really poor). Jungle Jeep Safari is much better in Community Forest than in Chitwan Park. When you go to community forest you are taken by a hotel and there will be your guide, you will see more animals and you will have more attention. If you go to Chitwan you will see more grass lands, less animals and will go with another guide, qulity is less. Bird watching was amazing. Jungle walk was real fantastic. Tharu Culture Dance was really good. Canoying with crocodile watching was super. If you are sensible to light while sleeping take a mask. Ask the hotel if there is no local wedding is planned as they celebrate more than 24 hours with a loud music non-stop, can hear inside your room like a disco.

Relaxing Stay

Welcoming staff, attentive service (my experience of breakfast) and comfortable /secure rooms. Rooms had mosquito nets, power outlets, television and most importantly a hot shower. Drinking water is provided on first night thereafter can be purchased from reception. Beds were a little hard but that’s the way in this area, extra duvets were provided if needed. Tika, the hotel manager was friendly and very helpful when our colleagues needed to change hotel to this one. We also booked a fantastic walking tour of Chitwan NP through the hotel and would definitely recommend. I don’t know the prices of other tours in the area but this was 4500 rupees (£30/$57aud) which includes park permit fees and a 4 hour guided walk - definitely worth it in my mind! If you leave the hotel early enough you’ll also be in with a chance of seeing a Rhino in the street! The only downside is that it was a 20 minute brisk walk to Hotel 7 Star where our conference was held - but if you don’t feel like walking the Gaida Lodge will arrange a car or tuktuk for you which won’t cost much at all.

Perfect trip

We stay here for 3 nights, the place itself was quite nice, the food was excellent prepared by the chef. The man serving our food and taking our orders was amazing. He would see us coming and prepare our Masala tea order as that was our favourite drink, he has the most welcoming smile. The other staff are also very friendly and love a chat! However the highlight was one of the staff and our personal jungle and safari guide Mukunda Aryal. Mukunda took us for a number of activities throughout the 4 days. He was extremely knowledgeable and loved all the animals in the park. We were originally unsure about seeing the elephants tied up but Mukunda ensured us that they were walked for 6-8hrs a day and are taken great care of! Mukunda has a real passion for tigers, during our jungle walk he was very eager to find a tiger for us. He always was aware and could spot any animal from a while away. We traveled for a 6 week period and this trip, mainly due to Mukunda was in the top three activities that we did. If you are up for an adventure, and to stay in a hotel where a local rhino chooses to causally walk through, this place and Mukunda are two things you can’t go without! We will 100% be back.

Breakfast with a rhino

Reviewed By roryo513

One of the highlights of our month-long post-Covid trip to Nepal. Comfortable room, expansive east-facing garden garden with generous tables for sundowners, attentive staff, particularly Sugam. But all of this is secondary to the rhino who ambles through at breakfast, followed by the elephant at sundown who turns up for washing in the river. These beasts are used to people, but we were lucky to also have a rare wild elephant who burst in through the scrub just as the rhino was making making a second pass for the day. The rhino ran for cover. Highly recommended.

After having trekked through snow for weeks, Chitwan was a great change and the RVJC was the best place to relax in. We were greeted at the bus park, greeted warmly by Mr. Nepal when we arrived at the resort, and by every member of the wonderful staff at every opportunity. We were very comfortable everywhere in the resort but especially on our balcony overlooking the river with the sounds of Chitwan. The food was excellent! We went on an all-day private jeep safari and followed that up with a 2-hour canoe trip and day walk with two excellent guides (thank you Janu!). We enjoyed a wonderful week at the RVJC.
