Broadway Park Hotel

The Broadway park is a former Victorian mansion house, once home to a wealthy entrepreneur. Today this handsome hotel retains many of its original features and is set within four acres of picturesque grounds. The gardens are home to a variety of wildlife including rare Isle of Wight Red Squirrels, foxes and badgers. This is the perfect setting to get away and relax and you are always assured of a warm welcome. The hotel has three comfortable lounges and a recently refurbished ballroom in which to enjoy the regular evening entertainment. The leisure facilities include a snooker room and there is also parking within the grounds. Whilst here you are sure to enjoy the tranquillity of the setting but it is just a 15 minute walk to the town centre and seafront where there is plenty to see and do.

Very poor

My partner and I booked this hotel through Booking.com admittedly last minute. The room was nothing like the pictures shown, it turns out they had overbooked and juggled rooms around to accommodate. After complaining to the hotel manager he did refund one of the two nights booked, admitting there had been major problems with the booking system, but we would have much preferred the room we had booked. The place looks very tired, dirty and run down, the bedroom carpet was very heavily stained.(see pics) Sorry I couldn’t bring myself to look at the mattress hence we slept on top of the bed. At breakfast the food was passable but there was a dead decomposed fly on the table and it was quite obvious it hadn’t been sat at for sometime. The window sill next to our table had at least 5 dead flies on it too and when pointed out to staff he said ‘oh dear that’s not good’ it had been cleaned the following morning, thankfully we were shown to another table. (Sorry no pics as phone left in the room) The lifts to the upper floors were out of order. Most of the hotel occupants were elderly and found it impossible to climb four flights of stairs. We did feel we were holidaying at Faulty Towers! Not recommend to the faint hearted! We certainly will not be returning. Booking.com have also been informed as the hotel desk manager tried to say the pictures they show are generic suggesting they were falsely advertising ..

Great gluten free breakfast

Honestly the best hotel I've stayed in on the island so far. I booked two nights via booking.com and asked if they could provide breakfast that was free from wheat and oats. Had a response the next day to say "all sorted for you". The room was clean, tidy and had a lovely sea view. The TV initially didn't work but as soon as I reported it the issue was fixed quickly. There was free entertainment one evening and the indoor pool was an added bonus. Yes it is mainly a coach hotel, but as a single traveller I found it suited my needs really well.

My Father came down for a quick visit and had booked this place as it was nearby..On the day of check in he went to the hotel to find it closed..He called a number on booking details but did not get an answer..A few hours later we went back and it was still closed. Eventually we managed to get an answer on the phone and were told we could check in now so we walked back to the hotel to find it still closed and deserted...I was furious by this time... I called the number provided to me and spoke to a man who gave me a lot of Bs saying he had been trying to call all day..I said we are at the hotel and want to get in.Only to be told he was not actually at the hotel but would get somebody that lives round the corner to let us in..WTF?? This is not how you run a business!! Anyway a fella did turn up looking like he had just got out of bed, opened the door and let us in. Appalling!!

Better than most reviews might suggest

First, the accurate: yes, the hotel is dated. 70’s decor and paint flaming off outside. But so too is the state of much of the buildings along the esplanade. The floors are fairly thin so you can hear them creaking when people walk on the floor above but this is just an older building creak and not too intrusive. And the overflow carpark is a little hike from the building. But that is about it on the negative. The rooms are quite spacious, exceptionally clean, and many of the fittings are quite new. Sure, they look to be fitted on a fairly low budget, but our impression is that where they have opted to spend more of their budget on is the linen, which (let’s face it) is where it matters when you go to bed. The pool is nowhere near as cold as some reviews might suggest, and whilst also quite dated, it is clean and not too over-chlorinated. Absolutely bang on perfect location right next to nice beachside restaurants that cater for allergy sufferers, the pier with a HUGE arcade amusement for kids and of course, a beach to rival many we’ve seen in Europe. In summary, a great pick for families or even couples, looking for a close to London getaway in an idyllic location.

Owner was very rude and abrupt. Food was disgusting, cold and inedible. Don't waste your money on this place. Bed very uncomfortable needs a new mattress and duvet cover falling apart. Long Mirror in room was broken with dangerous edge. Hand rail to restaurant was very loose. Given one rate as needed for review, but would be a massive minus if possible

My family and I have just came home from a week in the Isle of Wight. We stayed in a local caravan park by my dad wanted a bit of comfort so I booked the Inglewood guest house. From the minute he arrived to the minute he left he was looked after very well. House was spotless! Room was spotless! Room was well equipped with everything you needed. Breakfast was lovely! Jon and Justine were very welcoming and friendly. Jon carried my dads bag up to the room and out to the car and waved us off. I would 100% recommend this guesthouse to anyone we will definitely be returning. Thank you for looking after my dad!

Garlic Farm well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed

Reviewed By loraines520

We visited the garlic farm and was overwhelmed by the amount of different types of garlic there is. Well educational. A meal at the restaurant is a must. This place is really missing opportunities thou and I hope they expand in the future. It really needs to open for dinner in the evenings and maybe partner up with a local vineyard. It’s a real Shane as the food is amazing but there is so much scope for more. Highly recommend this place for a visit and for lunch. You must try their garlic ice cream !
