Reviewed By ZuurstokjeAmazing hostal, run by the most friendly persons! We loved every bit of our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, so are the kitchen and other facilities. The owners are really helpful and know a lot about things to do in Xela and Guate in general. Definitely recommend staying here! Voor de dutchies: vergeet vooral niet om stroopwafels mee te nemen! Ze zijn er dol op! :-)

Kasa Kiwi is Quetzaltenango's newest hostel! Classic hostel in the historic center with 5 private rooms, 3 dorm rooms and No Bunk Beds! We are super central (2 blocks from Parque Central), super safe (lockers in all dorms), super friendly, and super clean (communal bathrooms cleaned 2x per day). We have a lovely patio surrounded by plants and flowers and a roof terrace with craft beer and wine bar with 360 views of the city and surrounding mountains.
Good for party, not so good for quiet early night!
Reviewed By Y2595YYchiaradKasa Kiwi is a cool hostel with friendly staff and a great rooftop terrace, located only a few minutes’ walk from the central square of Xela. As the rooftop terrace is also a bar/ hangout spot, it got very noisy when we were there (on a Tuesday night), so it wasn’t ideal for us as we had to wake up early the next day for a hike. There are only 2 toilets for everyone to share and they’re on the ground floor, so not ideal if you need a wee in the middle of the night! Otherwise the room was comfortable.

Reviewed By JulitoTravelerI was there to reserve and pay 2 rooms for family that was attending a family party. I choose 2 rooms with king size bed , one of them with an xtra twin bed. The rooms were spacious, the bathroom too and well equipped. . The only downside was that it has 4 floors with no elevator. But the facilities are nice, this is a hotel to travel on a acceptable budget. It has a small restaurant, but is located just across La Pradera Mall with plenty of restaurants for all the wallets . The personnel were very nice and helpful with my last minute accomodations. They even waived and extra charge for the additional twin bed that I request last minute when I already paid for the 2 rooms. That was very nice of them. I highly recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By 390ivyaI booked this hotel for a business trip to Quetzaltenango. The room I got was beside the road so it was very noisy all night long so I did not get the rest I needed. The room was clean and the beds and pillows were just ok. The room included breakfast but it was a very poor breakfast. Overall the hotel was average but the value for my money was not. It was very expensive for the experience I had.

Reviewed By Joanna_Poland24Quite basic yet very clean and extremely backpackers friendly hostel located within the walking distance of the Central Park. Equipped with the kitchen and a terrace overlooking the city. An extremely helpful owner, Roberto, takes huge care to make sure that travelers feel welcome and informed providing them with all the kind of info needed and drawing maps for them:-) highly recommended for those with quite a limited budget yet looking for a place where they can really feel like at home!

Great hotel to see the area
Reviewed By akmassagerI stayed here for three nights and loved the place! Our rooms (we moved rooms after the first night) both had jacuzzis that pumped in hot volcano heated mineral water. Some rooms have an in room sauna that is heated by volcano vapor. Also in the mornings between 7 and 9 and in the evenings between 830 and 1030 you can use the vapor rooms in their spa area for free. The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were beautiful. We ate a lot of meals at the restaurant which was also affordable. There’s a spa there but the massage I got felt like someone who went to massage school for a month (I’m a massage therapist, I should know.) Other than that a great stay! Tip: cheaper rate if you deal directly with the hotel BUT you better know Spanish!

Reviewed By Clay COur church has taken a mission trip to Guatemala for the past 5 years and we keep coming back to this hotel. The owners and staff are amazing, the breakfast is great, and the rooms are excellent. If we go back to this area again, I have no doubt we will stay here.

Reviewed By BETO19682015La relación calidad-precio, no concuerda, por ese precio se puede conseguir una mejor opción, las toallas y la ropa de cama son muy viejas y muy usadas, las camas no se quedan atrás, cuando llegamos el control de la tv no servia y el lugar para poner la ropa esteva con mucho polvo como que hace tiempo no lo limpiaban, el personal es amable y te ofrecen un café y galleta de bienvenida que fue lo diferente pero no compensa con la falta de limpieza, el desayuno esta bien pero realmente no lo recomendaría, deben mejorar mucho.

Loud, cramped, dirty
Reviewed By LgbrickThis hotel has an excellent location and price which may sway you to select it for your visit to Xela. The hotel itself is terrible. The rooms are comically small (I had to turn sideways to get around the bed), there is near-constant noise that kept me up at night (and I am a very heavy sleeper), and the rooms were not kept clean.
