Reviewed By Itravel0neJust the right hotel for a short stay. Was here for conference and the fact that it is attached to the mall makes it convenient for my partner. Hotel provides all the amenities needed and breakfast is sumptuous. The AirCond can be improved as it is noisy especially in the middle of the night. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Even received a personalised welcome card and amenity from the General Manager.

There's even a link to it. Parking Well this time I took Grabcar over, as the morning and after working hours is rush hours. Well really don't know how much is the parking fees would be. Lobby Located at some floors above, not super huge, but OK. Check in was fast. Room They located me some high rise floor above with 2 single bed. The views is nice from the room. Only missing is a pan, the mini bar, looks nice on top ? Not sure about it Bed is nice to have a night sleep around. Clean and Nice. Swimming pool Located at the top floor of the hotel, there's even a cafe /bar next to the pool. The scenery could see the almost PJ around. Breakfast In a hurry so breakfast I didn't took any. Meals There's a shopping mall, more then 100 over cafés, bar, restaurant available. Should not be an issue if you hungry ... Overall Only hit there's no miss. One of the new, higher level, hotel in PJ area, what could go wrong ?

Reviewed By irfan893Because the package provided was for two adults and two children, I received an upgrade on my second visit here. For two adults and two children, the deluxe room is too small. However, there was an issue with the bathroom door after entering the family room. After the technician checked, the problem took a long time to resolve, and the hotel upgraded to a family suite... however, the family suite smelled musty, and the clothes worn stuck to the musty smell... after entering the room with the duty manager, I voiced this musty smell issue, but the duty manager only gave me a spray of perfume... I've sprayed myself numerous times, yet the odour persists. Given the limited time and unwillingness to move rooms a second time, I had to use dettol spray, but the odour persisted. The hotel should take the situation seriously. Two breakfasts and 8000 point sunway pals were included in the deal I purchased. However, despite inquiring three times, including during check out time, the point is yet to be credited. The employees on duty at check out indicated the point have time to expired, but they didn't consider the cost of returning to Sunway Mall to spend the point. I still haven't received my point after three days check out of the hotel. I hope the hotel takes it seriously and doesn't play games with their guests in this regard. The service provided by the natives for breakfast was unsatisfactory. In comparison to foreigners, there is a difference in treatment. If they are foreigners, the staff will inquire about their preferred coffee. Even though they have a large space, the tables are too close together...

Decent for short stays if visiting PJ

No highway noise and nice views of the city. £25 / 135MYR via 3rd party. We extended 1 night and walk in price for same room was £34 / 185MYR so book in advance. Room quality was nice and modern with good AC and spacious. It was letdown by a lack of cleaning standards - not a dealbreaker as it was nothing disgusting, but just obvious they are rushing to service the rooms. Towel had an old orange stain on it and some of the less obvious areas were not cleaned. E.g. under bathroom cabinet, higher than eye level shower walls, back of bathroom door, under the beds. Gym was very spacious however it is old equipment. Functional, but could do with a refresh. One treadmill was also not working. With so much space, I feel they could better equip the gym with even more machines however good enough for a few days working out. Staff are nice and friendly, efficient and kind. Free parking is a nice benefit although not the easiest to access with the one way system. Overall no major complaints. Good for a short stay. Did not eat here so unable to comment on room service or restaurants.

The remote was placed at the table so there's no chance of me hitting the switch on button by mistake. I switch it off, but after 5 mins, it started again out of nowhere. It was so scary, i rushed to the reception at 2.45 in morning to look for help. Also, i asked them if someone visit my room daily to do cleaning in my absence, they didi had any proper records to check this. This was very scary for me to see the sound bar getting started out of nowhere by its own. I couldn't sleep that full night and the next day I was forced to change the room. I had to pack all my bags, wrap up my kitchenette and shift to another room. Very scary and pathetic experience with my stay and I don't recommend it at all. Thanks.

Reviewed By PatrickY219Despite having the moniker Royal on its name, there was nothing Royal about this hotel at all. Entering the hotel from the back entrance of which is conveniently connected to the MRT, I was taken aback by the dark ambience of the hotel interior. It felt like walking into a haunted mansion. I passed by unfriendly staffs at the hotel restaurant/cafe on the way to the lift. Walking out the lift towards the hotel lobby, I was shocked to see the carpets mouldy and wall paint flaking off. I noticed one of the lobby sofa's leather was torn at the seat. They definitely have seen better days. Surely not a sight to behold for the hotel guest though. Regardless, I checked in. Room 9XX I was given. The room was big and spacious, and has an old austere feel to it. I unpacked while the missus goes to shower. Suddenly, the door opened and to my surprise a stranger gentleman walked in but not before exclaiming in surprise himself. Apparently, he too was given the same room despite checking in later than us by an hour. How the receptionist could have made this mistake is beyond me. He left rather unceremoniously but not before startling my wife when she walked out of the shower, half naked only to see a stranger in the room. Unfazed, we decided to enjoy the city. Upon returning, we found that our access card isn't functioning. Off to the lobby we went to get a new set of cards. This unfortunate incident repeated itself once a day for 3 days. Breakfast was basic and mediocre. It felt like a 3 star hotel buffet instead of a 5 star one. Surely, the Royal Chulan could have served better selections. The only plus point is that its conveniently connected to the MRT so travelling within KL was made easy. I would be avoiding this hotel and the rest of the Royal Chulans in the future.
