Amazing Hospitality and Spacious Villa

Reviewed By Munipzaidah

Missing the beautiful beach and the sound of the waves already! The children had a really great time! Ali cannot seem to have enough of the beach and the sand..? Thank you Anthony, Cindy and Lai Kuan and all the staff at Frangipani for making us feel so at home at the resort. The villas are so spacious and comfortable, with all the personal needs catered to.......and just a few steps away from the beach! The view of the beach from the villas is so gorgeous... at night we are lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves and the sea breeze. To me that is priceless! In the evenings, the rich colours of the sunset is something to look forward to as we sit on the deck after a long day... Ali and Orked loved the organic farm/nature walk; a lot of cool and fun things to see and do.. the madu kelulut harvest, feeding the farm animals, caring for rescued baby bird, the herbs garden, the wetland and many more. After the walk, we were treated to a tasty lunch prepared from organically grown-on-the-farm vegetables and herbs. I must say the surprise soup was a real surprise! It turned out to be the humble kangkung that had been concocted into a tasty, sophisticated starter soup. Indeed, the kangkung harvested from the Frangipani wetlands not so humble any more! There was an assortment of crispy deep fried leaves of daun kaduk and other leaves. Not sure what they are. Must find out from the chef. Ali loves them! He is not a fan of veges but he eats them as he thinks they are keropok.. ? Fresh baby ikan kembung with source was also on the plate and a pretty purple sweet pea flower to garnish. It was a totally enjoyable lunch with great company; Anthony, Lai Kuan and Wai (who is a great hit with Ali). From the farm to the table indeed!! My compliments to the Chef. And not to miss the signature sweet-scented, frangipani flower tea to cool down, served all day, complementary. I also noticed there are many mulberry trees on the resort, and realised that they are not just for the berries and greeneries. The residence gardener Najib told me, as he carefully plucked the leaves, that the leaves are made into tea.. wow!!! The leaves are then dried by natural process using the sun. I must try this organic mulberry tea one day.. Last but not least I must mention the amazing new thing that I learnt; that you can eat the leaves of beach vines. There were lots of these vines at Frangipani beach covering the white sand. It has heart-shaped leaves that look like butterfly wings flapping; and pretty purple flowers. Apparently, it is nice if deep-fried in batter like we normally do bayams. This is another must try! Thank you Anthony for this amazing new knowledge! And thank you for your very gracious hospitality. It was a holiday to be remembered..?

Wonderful hidden gem at Pantai Tengah

Reviewed By drea2602

Absolutely loved everything about my stay at Villa Molek. Stumbled across this gem when I was looking for a work-holiday stay that's walking distance to beaches but far enough from crowds. What I experienced was pleasantly beyond my expectation. Peter and Su greeted us personally at check-in. Very hospitable and jovial couple who are always willing to share tips and stories. Their staff emulates their hospitality in every way, from the breakfast to cleaning crew, and speaks highly of them.

As kak Siti took us to the room, I noticed that the compound is very neatly kept with ample greenery, fish ponds and some cats. I’m usually weary of cats due to allergies, but these cute pets I had no problem with. In fact, I looked forward to seeing them when I’m in the compound in the day (kept in a kennel at night). They’re very clean, cheeky and entertaining, and don’t invade your space. No incessant meowing either. The villas are nicely spaced for two. On one side of the studio space you’ll find a living room, working and dining areas, small kitchen with basic amenities. On the other side, super soft and comfortable queen bed and pillows that you’ll just love sinking into after a long day, split shower and toilet, all the essentials you need. Fast WiFi speed as well, but you may need to step out of the room for better connection. A simple buffet breakfast is served every morning with selection of breads, side salad, muesli, coffee, tea, eggs, fruits and the occasional nasi lemak. Just nice to fuel up for a walk or beach day. One thing to note is exceptions are made on Fridays to have breakfast served in the room. A tray of yogurt, milk, muesli, bread (toaster is provided in the room), butter and jam is given. But you can also make a request if you’d like something extra and they’ll be more than happy to accommodate. Was really looking forward to extending another night, which Peter did for me very quickly upon request, unfortunately last minute plans took hold. So sorry for the inconvenience, and thank you for taking the time to do this! One thing for sure is I know I’ll be back to stay the next time I visit Langkawi. See you all again soon! Cheers, Andrea and Charlotte.

La Pari-Pari Langkawi

Situated on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia, La Pari-Pari provides guests with the luxury of a secluded, intimate setting - right in the heart of the Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah district. Our hotel has only 12 rooms with private courtyards spread over one-and-a-half acres of lush gardens, ensuring guests can always count on the personal attention from our friendly staff and a peaceful hideaway to retreat to after a long day of vacationing.

The place to stay in Langkawi!

Reviewed By Zerrubabel100

Although we have been back to Langkawi a number of times since our last stay at La Pari, sadly we have not been able to stay at the hotel for one reason or another. However, this week we got back and this place never fails to deliver! The rooms are great - clean and well equipped. The space is wonderfully quiet and the pool served a purpose for us as a family of four travelling with another family of four. The 'deal clincher' are the staff and the restaurant. Wonderful attention and care from a team of dedicated staff who are always on the lookout to help. The food at the restaurant is second to none in Langkawi. Large portions of amazing Nonya style food but a menu to suit everyone at reasonable prices. Why would anyone eat anywhere else? If you want the busyness of beach activities and night parties this is probably not the place for you (although you should definitely get there for a meal!). However, if you want to truly relax and choose what you want to dip into in Langkawi then this place is ideal. We will definitely be back!

Tropical Resort Langkawi

What you see is what you get. We are small property with friendly staff, peace and quiet away from the hustle bustle of the city. There are variety of restaurants, convenience shop, spa, laundry shop and beach of Pantai Tengah, all within walking distance from our resort. See you soon!

If you value sleep, do not come here.

This is a budget accommodation therefore it attracts families with loud screaming children. The resort is built around a common pool that is basically just a few feet from your room door. Parents let their children out to play and scream early in the morning before 8am. The resort really does need some rules and enforcement here because these Malay families are very inconsiderate to others who stay here. Having said that, you can walk to a nice stretch of beach. The staff are friendly and moved us when the aircon was not working correctly. General rule of thumb, if you don't want to go to a place inundated with families and their noisy brats, pick a place without a pool, rent a car, and drive or walk to the beach.

The BEST resort with the most excellent staff and customer service! Our second time here and even more impressed!

Reviewed By Cassie B

Oh my goodness! Where do we even begin?! This is our second time returning to Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat after we first discovered this place in 2019 before the pandemic. It was out of this world back in 2019 and I can only say that we are even more impressed after our second visit here again! We booked the Canopy Suite which is right up at the top of the canopy with breathtaking views of both the jungle and the sea looking out on Pentai Tengah. We had daily visits from gibbons, monkeys and other jungle wildlife. We definitely recommend this room 100%. What makes Ambong Ambong Rainforest Retreat so special is simply the STAFF and their wonderful attention to detail and customer service. It is not a big resort, so the service is very personal! Everyone called us by our names! They were fabulous in 2019 but when we arrived again this time, they treated us like a family. All staff were lovely to us and even the housekeepers were nice and friendly. A special mention to the following: Lee for always bringing a smile and doing everything he can for us. He works so hard and nothing was too much trouble. Aiman for helping me when I needed to go to local government hospital and also bending over backwards for us whenever we needed something. He will go far in life with his professional attitude and excellent English and customer service skills. Akane & Putra for always making us laugh and again just excellent customer service. Everyone took their time to chat to us and it was lovely. All the staff in Pegaga and Rimba restaurant serving breakfast and lunch/dinner were great and again, such a personal service from everyone, I’m sorry I cannot remember all the names but everyone who we dealt with deserves to be praised. We have never had customer service like it. We had a slight issue with our room when we arrived but they sorted it out quickly and we were very happy and it did not spoil our week there in any way. I have tried to think of any improvements that could be done but I am really struggling - it really is a perfect resort with a small group of excellent staff and managers who go out of their way to ensure your stay is out of this world. Thank you so much Ambong Ambong ! We will be back for sure and we’re already missing the place and the staff. Cassie & Andrew

mbong Ambong villa Fed up with being cooped up at home during the pandemic but not blasé enough to brave the crowd , Ambong Ambong villa is the perfect retreat for us who have been craving for a holiday away from the masked up confines of downtown Penang . Individual villas are built to the natural contour of the terrain with minimum disruption to the existing habitat - we were surprised to find a 60 feet tall tree in the gateway of the villa fully ‘merged’ in with the hotel villa. The Hotel management is totally environmentally friendly . No plastics n disposables are handed out in the room or hotel premise . All water containers are glass bottles n toiletries containers too. Staff are friendly , helpful and often walk the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable What a fantastic venue to venture into the holiday world again !

Location good and staff friendly.Rooms ok.However was not happy to ve told when we arrived that the two rooms (2 adults, two children) that I had booked would not be together but would be located at opposite ends of the building. This was clearly not an option. However then after 5 mins they siad we could have connecting rooms if we paidban extra 460 RM.This was either a scam to take money or us or incompetent mismanagement. Hopefully this will not happen to future guests.
