Homeward Bound

We had booked this hotel for one night to allow us to make our flight home the next day. The hotel sits at one end of the city centre overlooking the bay. Fitting its name the building is ornate with high painted ceilings, full length curtains and carved balustrades. Marble, glazed and terracotta floor tiles and dark wooden furniture complete the look, and it works. The balcony gave us a panoramic view of the bay and port, this part was wonderful, what wasn't so great is that the hotel sits next to a busy motorway intersection that is loud - at any time of day or night. The room was indeed spacious and comfortable. The four piece bathroom was in keeping with the rest of building. The shower was small considering that space was not an issue. There is a roof terrace that was completely under utilised. From there you have a 360° view of Olbia but for some reason the terrace was furnished with a view patio chairs and Seagull droppings. In fact, the Seagulls were nesting on the roof with their young wondering around without a care in the world. Overall; nice but could be much more.

A good hotel with a great restaurant

Reviewed By Guthrie1

We stayed here for two nights in May and had a great experience. The rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable. It's not a hotel with great views and it is a bit out of the way if you want somewhere that's walking distance to the beach/shops. There is a Lidl and a Euronics centre across the road which doesn't feel very holiday-like, however what the hotel lacks in views it certainly makes up for in service, which is excellent. Nothing is too much and we would certainly stay again. The pool is nice and I can imagine when the seating is available for outside dining it's a lovely place to be. We did order a pizza (poolside ) and this was not bad. However, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant in the evening and the food was fabulous. This is a good hotel. The only thing I would add is that the 'Turkish bath' is what we in London call a 'steam room', it's a very nice steam room nonetheless and the use of it was included in the room rate which was a nice bonus.

Excellent Hotel with Excellent View of Olbia

Reviewed By Alan126

We stayed at this hotel 2 separate nights; once at the start (standard room) and once at the end (superior room) of the holiday. It’s a very smart hotel bang in the middle of the best part of Olbia and both rooms were good (Tip: for little more cost book a superior room. It really is worth it). Bathrooms both fine (superior one excellent) and the staff were always friendly and professional. The hotel has an excellent rooftop terrace which is really worth a visit as it has the best views of the city and it has sun loungers so you can sunbathe if you like. The buffet breakfast was fine but my one issue is you had to go up and be served by a member of staff, you couldn’t just help yourself. In our travels around Sardinia we visited 3 other hotels and all were self service buffets. I presume this is covid thing, but then why wasn’t it in place elsewhere on the island? However, overall the hotel is stylish and impressive and I’d certainly stay there again.

Good hotel with lots of character

Reviewed By Alan L

A small friendly hotel set in pleasant gardens about 150 metres from a long beach. The room we had (29) was comfortable though en suite was very small. The restaurant served a decent dinner with a changing menu and breakfast in a different room was also good. Though out the hotel staff were cheerful and helpful. We chose this place for our first night In Sardinia as it is only about 10 kilometres from Olbia airport. There is a nice pool though on our trip, the water was rather too cold for swimming.

Good hotel but a little dated

Reviewed By longtalljan

The hotel itself is a little jaded but spotlessly clean. We had several issues with our toilet and our hotel safe, both faults were fixed quickly but needed further mending. Breakfast is the same every day but the variety and quality is good and the staff friendly and efficient. We did not eat in the hotel but ate at nearby restaurants - although there are not many of these. The terrace at the front of the hotel serves hot and cold drinks along with snacks. The ice cold beers and accompanying tray of Sardinian bread cheese and salami was delicious and very welcome after a hot day out. However, the terrace is next to one of the main roads and it is noisy. Pool and gardens are excellent, both very well maintained. The beautiful beach of Porta Istansa is about a 40 minute walk, on the flat, but well worth the walk. There is a small drink and snack bar on the beach but no toilets. The hotel bus shuttle drops and collects several times a day. Overall I would recommend Hotel Sperasole, the facilities were good for the price we paid.

Glorious place. We arrived at 9.30pm after having to book a flight due to our original flight being cancelled but they still allowed us to go to dinner (they normally stop serving at 9.30pm). Hugely appreciated after a stressful day. The room we had, 110, was ground floor, to the side with a private garden area and a view of the beach. The room is large, as is the bed. The bathroom is spacious with a beautiful shower. Everything is very clean and well cared for. Shower gel and soap is Bulgari, nothing is too much trouble for the staff (they parked our car for us and took our bags to the room so we could go for dinner as soon as we arrived). Friendly, attentive and professional staff, all spoke good or excellent English and may have spoken German as there were lots of Italian and German guests. The pool is large, the surrounding deck area has lots of places to sit or sunbath, it's quiet and serene and nothing feels cramped. The beach is private and there are always staff on hand. The food in the restaurant - wow - it was sublime. I had cuttle fish as a main course which was so flavoursome. The puddings looked great, we had the set pudding: coffee parfait which came with fresh soft fruit and a chocolate sauce. Love the entire place. Its so relaxing and welcoming. I would return in a heartbeat. Love it.

We stayed at the hotel in august 2021 and we highly recommend it. We enjoyed the beautiful view over the port of Olbia from the evening restaurant and over the infinity pool from the breakfast terrace. For both dinner and breakfast we were introduced to a great variety of traditional Sardinian food, which made our stay delightful. We highly recommend to enjoy a drink at the hotel bar, where you will find delicious cocktail, a breathtaking view over the sea and a very welcoming and professional staff. At our arrival at the hotel we were provided with a beach bag with towels and the great option of reaching the beach directly with the hotel's "mini bus" (all included in the price of the room).

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely contemporary hotel in Olbia. Our room was ample size with good linens. The location is ideal. The entire staff at this hotel go above and beyond to please their guests. They are very service oriented, pleasant, experienced and very helpful. The breakfast was above average with options enough to please every taste. If you would like a cup of good cappuccino simply request it from a server as it is brought from the kitchen. I believe the regular coffee machine is made available most of the day as we went there in the afternoon and helped ourselves to coffee or hot chocolate. I can not say enough about the breakfast room staff. They are so very eager to please, good natured and simply delightful. I highly recommend this hotel and would welcome the opportunity to stay their again.

Excellent Value Quality Hotel

From the moment we arrived everything we had asked for was ready and waiting. The room was spotlessly clean & cleaned again on a daily basis. Breakfast variety choices are far more than we would ever expect to eat at Home. All the staff no mater where you was in the Hotel offered promt attention making our Holiday perfect. Talking to other holiday makers especially from England there was always the proverbial moaners with silly unfounded complaints as per, no Tea making facility in the Rooms etc.? if they'ed asked it could have been provided. (For everyones safety due to Covid all items that would normally be handled by new arrivals, for example Hotel instruction books Tea/Coffee etc. have been removed but are available on request, just simply ask any of the friendly Reception Staff) The Pool and its surrounding area is beautiful. For the fitness enthusiasts there's a really good Gym along with SPa and Massage facilities. Food & Drinks throughout are of very good. value in particular evening Dinner served in the main Resteraunt. Theres plenty to choose, all excellent both in quality and price. You can easily pay more in the main Town. All in all, this Hotel is very good value for money and we credit in full each and every member of staff for making our stay a very very comfortable experience. Thank you Mercure we look forward to returning again. One final note, check out local Bus services unbelievable low cost just 1 Euro gets you to most places Town, Airport and many Beaches close by. Sardinia is a beautiful place to spend a fantastic Holiday. Forza Italia.
