Great view but not really a good hotel
Reviewed By MelzagoDon't expect too much as it's just a standard hotel. I got there after the check in time, I received my key and when I got to the room, it wasn't done. So I waited for about 40 minutes for it. When I finally could use the room I realized the roller flush didn't work so I had to change room and waisted kind of 2 hours in total. The room has a very nice view on the lake Garda but it's just standard, not all cleaned, there was even a glass used by the previous guest in the kitchen not washed, air conditioning doesn't refresh much and I couldn't change the temperature. The bed is fine but pillows are very thin and uncomfortable. The pool at non gets a lot of shadows because of a big tree which is annoying. Breakfast is fine and the restaurant is ok. Not sure I'll come back there again

All sports facilities are inside the property and very well maintained. Few minutes distance from the center of Manerba with planty of restaurants and bars and also close to the lake. Thank you for having us again, we will surely be back next year!

Reviewed By stoutySadly we didnt stay at the hotel but would definitely do so in the future. We wanted to hire e bikes. Raphael was so very helpful and soon got us sorted. We booked in for the grill evening that took place on the lawn in the evening. This was fabulous, the setting was close to the pool and very calm and relaxing.. The staff are exceptionally friendly and pleasant. Special mention also to Luca and David..thank you for making us so welcome. Hope to be back soon. The Chapmans xx

. Structure: History and Features The building, which houses the hotel was built in 1997 and includes a dozen apartments. The Hotel Florence is proud of the two beautiful terraces that allow our guests to enjoy the enchanting scenery of the lake. Inside are two accessible rooms on the ground floor, called the Family Room antechamber that combines making them ideal for families who want to share the same holiday but not the same room, and eight bedrooms upstairs. Each of our rooms is treated in detail: the color to accessories, from the most mundane to the most subtle refinements. Prominent are the two deluxe rooms with balcony and lake view. Where are we Our facility is located in the district of San Sivino, on the border between Moniga and Manerba del Garda. A few steps from Lake Garda, we enjoy a position that allows our guests to relax and enjoy the beauty that our area offers. Places to see Our property is surrounded by places of interest. No doubt the closest, and least known, is the Church of San Sivino. Isolated on the promontory of San Sivino, this church is located overlooking Lake Garda, although it remains very little, remains a place full of charm and a mystery. The church of San Sivino has been rediscovered by Armando Bellelli Bertagna and Marco, two fans who visiting documentandola and demonstrate the interest that could have many other researchers. The church has a nave with bays that support round arches and is the oldest of Manerba. The fact that it is in ruins and abandoned to itself hurts not only to membership of the historic area, but also to the side of this enigmatic place can evoke. Our property boasts proximity to the Natural Park and Archaeological Rocca and Sasso. Rocca di Manerba stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Lake Garda on its lead, thanks to restoration work and archaeological and environmental enhancement, you can see the remains of the medieval castle and other ancient structures accessible via a steep asphalted road, closed to traffic on the last stretch after parking. The ruins, in the hinterland decline towards a meadow that offers hospitality and leisure visitors. Also from the fortress you also get to a beautiful beach. On the ruins of which look over the lake, a steep and difficult path in part, allows you to get to the Park of the Rock of Manerba. The Visitor Center of the Archaeological Park of the Rock of Manerba del Garda is home to its current venue (near the parking lot under the Rock) also the Archaeological Museum of Valtenesi. On the ground floor it follows the archaeological trail, with bilingual panels (in Italian and English) through a variety of exhibits on display in shop windows, showing the settlements of the multilayered site of Rocca and Sasso, that of Pieve di S. Maria and to the lake, with the remains of a settlement of the Bronze Age lake-dwelling. A place to see is also the island of San Biagio, or rabbits. A few meters from Punta Belvedere, near Manerba Porto Torchio emerges the small island of San Biagio, commonly known as "Island of rabbits", reachable on foot in the lean periods of the lake or with a taxi boat for a small fee. The island of San Biagio has since 2007 owned by the Camping San Biagio, in fact, access is free of charge. A little further off is the Rock from the altar, of which ancient memories tell us that, on it once a year during mass at which watched from aboard their boats, fishermen here from all over the lake. The Rock of the Altar, is surely one of the most popular dive sites of the Garda. The wall comes down to a depth of 150 meters, and is famous for two large balconies covered with yellow sponges and a cave providing refuge to large specimens of fish perch. Reviewed By Johan CHospitality and feeling like a hostel but service and personal touch above and beyond expectations, we stayed 3 nights on our honeymoon and was overwhelmed by the nice staff and location, great home-cooked breakfast and dinner on request. Worth coming only for the food. They even let us borrow their bikes to get around since we where without car.

All the comforts are available and home solution for any request (apartments, bungalows, spaces for campers). You do have to try it!

Garda getaway
Reviewed By CageswoodThis development has a lot going for it. The modern and well-equipped apartments are ranged on a hillside around a pool complex overlooking the lake. The centrepiece of the development is an infinity style pool complex with a separate safe area for children and plenty of lounger space on a wide terrace which was drenched in summer sunshine while we were there in August. We also know the place to be dog friendly since we had been given clearance to bring ours although, as it happened, she had to stay home because we had failed to keep her rabies vaccination in date. The grounds are well maintained and include a play area, football pitch and walking paths through some wooded areas. It's a bit of a stretch to call it a resort: the Italian description of Residenza seems more apt: perhaps condominium might be a better translation. There are a couple of exercise rooms and common areas but no restaurant or bar facilities on site unless you count the self-service drinks machines. The guest booklet in our apartment was full of rules and regulations for managing the garbage and using the pool including an apparent closure for three hours in the middle of the day. The main Italian words used in the instructions were 'vietato' and 'obligatorio'. Happily, the draconian rules were honoured principally in the breach and overseen with sensible tolerance by the lifeguards. Early evening closure of the pools did not seem to deter anyone from making continued use of the pools by the simple expedient of climbing over the gate. That also seemed to be the time of day to ignore the topless rule. We would agree with Stefano's Tripadvisor assessment that the resort is generally quiet, ideal for families or simply for chilling out. We also agree that Salo is an excellent lakeside town to visit and would also add a recommendation for the Parco Termale di Garda which is a little further away but well worth the trip. Despite the implications in some of the promotional literature, Montecolo is not actually on the lake and it's a good quarter of an hour uphill hike from the small stoney beach at Dusano where the bar and restaurant are frankly rather average but friendly enough. Montecolo is some way outside of the hill town of Manerba and we would think that a car is essential unless you are a cyclist in training for the Giro d'Italia or content just to soak up the sun for a week or more. There is adequate parking on site but not directly next to the apartments: we had to lug our baggage up some two dozen steep steps and along a walkway from the car to the house.

First Visit To Italy
Reviewed By primpumpkinThis was my first visit to Italy, I travelled with my friend. We went on a half board basis, breakfast at the hotel and the evening meal was at a local restaurant just a couple of minutes away. We were asked to go over and get a meal as we had arrived at around 9.30pm, normally you have to eat between 6.30 and 7.30pm which was a little early for us. Staff at the hotel were friendly and it was clean and extra blankets available in the room.Decent shower and towels.Small fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water.Safe included at no charge which you change the combination on to lock and unlock. There is also a lift in the hotel. Breakfast was from 7.30 am till 11am, choice was plentiful with a few hot things on offer which we were not expecting. Location, we felt was in the middle of nowhere if you dont have a car. A few local restaurants and a Tabacchi where you could get cigarettes ( which were very reasonable anything from 4.80 euros for a pack of 20), edge of the lake a 5 minute walk away with splendid view and that was all that was in the vicinity. YOU NEED TO HAVE A CAR if you are staying at this hotel unless you want to spend an absolute fortune on taxis to get anywhere and see anything. We fortunately teamed up with another couple on the first day and shared taxi fares and this enabled us to see the sights we had come to see otherwise a lot of our money would have been spent on the horrendous fares. Its was a minimum of 20 euros 1 way and we travelled a mile and a half to the port to catch a boat for a trip, 2 of us had walking difficulties and walking was not an option. There is one bus a day and 1 back which can be cancelled on a whim. We did not have a problem with the breakfast at the hotel which as I previously said was plentiful in choice and of good quality, however the half board option at the loacal restaurant was seriously lacking in quality, quantity and limited choice and I felt let down the hotel as the quality was not the same as the quality of the hotel breakfast which was splendid.My main course on the first evening was chicken and I was presented with 2 scrawny chicken legs with a spoonful of gravy and a few small pieces of veg, nothing else. I dont think anywhere in the world would offer this as a main course. On the second evening it was the same and I actually was given the choice of pork or pork so I asked for a vegetarian option and was given slices of tomato with bits of cheese on top instead. We were disappointed in the quality and choice and my friend rang the UK the next day who got in touch with the local rep and after some time on the phone the rep did come to the hotel. There was 3 other english couples who spoke to the rep and credit where credit is due the rep and the hotel management sorted the problem out. We grouped together as the rep had managed to secure us a private minibus that would take us wherever we wanted to go and visit and we split the cost between us. We were moved to another restaurant for the remainder of our stay and received top quality food and service. It was the beginning of the season and nothing in our area was open , you had to visit the busier areas. Dont forget to make use of the Wellness centre which you can use free of charge, sip herbal teas and book treatments if you wish. Pack a hoody and a decent jacket as the weather can be tempremental at this time of year and if you are on a boat trip its freezing so wrap up. In the height of the summer season you would probably be glad of the breeze. If you are travelling home to the UK you are unable to buy cigarettes or tobacco at the airport , so buy in the resort, you are able however to bring 6 litres of spirits back. We enjoyed our stay once we had ironed out the getting around issues and the food in the evening. The hotel is clean,comfortable with friendly staff and a good base if you have a car to get around. For us we needed to be in a more central area with lots going on as we didnt have a car.

The reception staff are helpful and informative, the rooms (like the whole complex) are well equipped and spotlessly clean. Each room has views of the lake and gardens...the San Sivino is just perfect!
