This camp has its own watering hole!

Reviewed By CarrieReadsALot

This was our third camp of five on our safari adventure. At this point, we knew what to expect and were excited to get a look at a more northern location than the previous camps were were at. This was where we also very much appreciated that the staff puts warm water bottles in the bed to keep you nice and toasty as it got a little chilly here. We got to do a lot of exciting tourist-y things on top of the game drives including a visit to the equator, local chimp sanctuary, and visit with the local blind rhino. This was where we saw our first cheetah of the trip I believe, which was extra exciting for us. Accommodations, food, and staff were wonderful as it had been at all the other camps. A benefit to booking this all from the same company was a consistency that cannot be undersold. The communication between camps was really amazing and we got to see them handle some rebooking that a family had to do last minute. Amazing how well things were handled from start to finish of our time there.

Amazing

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. This was our second stay at an Elewana property, but our first at this camp (the first stay was at Elsa s Koppje in Meru). While we'd give the camp, the game drives, the staff and the activities all a five star, we want to first mention the food. Simply, because it's by far the best we've had on our about ~10 luxury safaris. Some of the meals were the best we've ever tasted. While the food is usually not a deciding factor for us in choosing our safari locations, we'd stay at an Elewana property again just for that. The meals were creative, the choices had a lot of variety, the execution was on point and the ingredients were very fresh and of high quality. There was also always a very healthy option which was also delicious. The meat was incredibly tender, but the vegetarian options were fantastic as well. I never felt like I was missing out when I chose the salad or other vegetarian option. Our guide, Mohammed was very knowledgeable, respectful and mindful of the animals and shared many interesting facts with us. We even managed to see the black leopard. Many sightings we could enjoy all by ourselves and for a long time. We also very much appreciated his careful driving. A highlight was our 2 hour safari walk in the conservancy, where we learned a lot of new things and saw plenty of animals along the way. We also enjoyed the horseback riding which is a very unique experience. The camp is absolutely beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The staff is warm and welcoming. Also, the spa treatments are highly recommended. I very much enjoyed the foot treatment of Tabitha. Can't wait to be back.

THE MOST FABULOUS PLACE WE'VE EVER STAYED

Reviewed By Robin W

If William and Kate were going on safari, this is where they would stay. The location, nestled on a hillside, the "tents" were incredible. Ours was huge, spacious, with gorgeous furnishings and amenities., and a wide, covered deck overlooking a watering hole, the wilderness and a long view toward Mt. Kenya. The common areas - pool, dining room, pathways, were all gorgeous, with exotic African woods, tapestries, artwork. The food was excellent, interesting, varied, authentic, delicious. Also, the staff was wonderful - we were there on Valentines Day. During dinner they all came out in a congo line singing and bringing a cake for us to enjoy. It was really special. Our driver and guide, Festus, was above and beyond; he was well educated on the Loisaba Conservancy; the animals, birds, flora, geology and history. His friendly and easy demeanor made our time there super memorable.

Elewana Loisaba Star Beds

Poised on a rocky kopje, the Loisaba Star Beds command sweeping views over an undulating valley and a permanent waterhole, frequented by resident wildlife. Handcrafted four-poster wooden beds sit on raised wooden platforms jutting out from a thatched-roof accommodation and are rolled out each night for guests to enjoy the most memorable sleep under the endless African sky.

Unique Experience Sleeping Under the stars

Reviewed By kampurtraveldiaries

Our visit to Loisaba Star Beds was just out of this world. Loved the rustique luxury set up. The food was just out of this world and they catered for all our meal requirements i.e. vegetarian and gluten free meals. The experience of sleeping under the stars is a MUST for anyone who wants a different safari experience in Kenya. Loisaba is more about the activities such as bush walks and others rather than the game drives. Our guide Solomon was so knowledgeable about the area and animal behaviour. We saw very many different species of animals include the 4 cats i.e. Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs and the African Wild Cat. The hospitality of the team at the camp was at another level. Kudos to them. We will definitely recommend this property as part of our itineraries.
