Reviewed By MarkW55We spent 10 days here in May and enjoyed every minute. The owner, Nikolaos, and his staff were friendly & offered great assistance. George, on the evening shift, was particularly helpful. The cleaners kept the rooms and outdoor areas immaculate and the pool area is very smart with loungers and parasols around the good-sized pool. There is a poolside bar and breakfast is served outside on all fine days. Our room was on the top floor and had a splendid view from the good-sized balcony. The wi-fi works very well and there is a useful amount of undercover parking. The walk to the centre of the village takes 5-10 minutes. Looking forward to returning!

Reviewed By jlscptStayed at hotel for 2 weeks. Hotel clean and tidy with beautiful beach and 2 pools, sunbeds available on the beach and pool areas. Meals were good but nothing particularly outstanding, breakfast always a queues for the coffee machine and constantly running out of basic things like spoons and bowls, lunch and dinner very same situation, good mixture of fish , meat and pasta dishes but nothing outstanding. The bedroom room 236 was facing the road ....BIG MISTAKE but no rooms available without paying for a sea view, all day and all night motorbikes blasting up and down the roads , in the morning lorries delivering things blocking the road and very noisy and not much of a mountain view and dogs barking all day and night, hotel should offer rooms without changing for sea views. The village had lots of closed shops and restaurants, has seen better days Room had kettle and fridge which was good. Good holiday but for the price I paid , better options available.

Reviewed By hannsoelHad a lovely stay at Dimitras, had a big room on the second floor with a big balcony facing the pool. Dimitra is such a nice person and I long back all the time! Kalyves is such a dainty little town, and Dimitras studios fits right in.

Akti Galinis in Chania, Crete, has 15 wonderful studios and apartments with big balconies, most of them with great sea view. The rooms are supplied with air conditioning, TV, a small kitchen with refrigerator, cooker machine and all the facilities for cooking. There is also free WiFi available throughout the hotel. A great combination for pleasant and inexpensive vacations. Akti Galinis is 20 m from the sea. Our beach is sunny and sandy, safe (with lifeguard), very clear and every year wins the price of "Blue Flag". For the best service of our clients, we also live here, providing you our services 24hours a day. For handicapped persons there are rooms 20m from the seafront, without steps or other traps, making it an easy access to the beach.

Reviewed By Chris HAfter being in email contact with Ionna since 2019 and making many changes to the booking, we finally made it back to Kalyves and our first stay at the Akti Galinas Apartments in May. The location of the apartments was what attracted us and was perfect, the beach is a few yards away, as are restaurants, supermarkets and taxi office. There were 4 adults and a baby in our group and we had a first floor seaview apartment with a cot and high chair provided. The apartment was extremely clean and Ionna was always on hand to deal with any queries including dealing with the disposal of insulin sharps. We are looking forward to returning as a couple to a smaller apartment in September.

Reviewed By Jacki HWe stayed at the Olympic View overnight after landing at Chania Airport, before driving to Eastern Crete, and again on the way back. The owner, Nectarios, couldn't have been more welcoming. He sat us down and offered us cold drinks (you must try his cherry raki - delish!) and fresh fruit. All the rooms have names, not numbers and on our 2nd stay we were given 'Aphrodite'. The bathroom was huge, with a big corner jacuzzi with a shower attachment, bidet next to the loo, his'n'hers handbasin, and even a washing machine! And still lots of room to spare. The view from the balcony was probably one of the best views I've ever seen.The bedroom had a fridge with tea and coffee making facilities. Kalami is a tiny place, no shops that we could see, and only 2 (or 3?)tavernas but it's only a few minutes drive to picturesque Kalives with its numerous tavernas and sandy beach. The only thing I would change is the parking. Be careful not to park under the trees if they're in fruit, otherwise you'll find it difficult getting the stains off the paintwork. Would thoroughly recommend Olympic View.

As a family hotel we didn't feel too overwhelmed by the children present. Entertainment for adults as well as children. Great cocktails, worth the VIP upgrade. Near and accessible trips to chania, 25 euro in a taxi. Good days trips to visit some beautiful places. Thoroughly enjoyed the boat trip. Also the 50m pool which was great to do so lane swimming

I love the unique decoration and the small details which makes the difference. Very close to the sandy beach with tavernas and cafes, but in a calm environment, a great combination!

Reviewed By margaret1203We stopped here for two night en route at the end of March. The weather was miserable and cold. Maria, the owner, made sure there was adequate heating and that we had enough blankets etc. Room has a Sea view and although simply furnished was adequate for our needs. Just wish the weather had been a bit more favourable. However, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Opposite large supermarket, right on the beach with large garden and within walking distant of cafe/bars and restuarants.

Garifalo apartments located on the beachfront in the center of the village Kalives. All windows and balconies overlooking the sea. Has its own sandy beach with a sloping entrance to the sea. For guests hotel sunbed with an umbrella free. At 50 meters from the hotel bakers, mini markets, bank,pharmacy and bus stop. also on the shore there is a taverns where you can eat deliciousne and inexpensive.

Reviewed By amyn533The apartments are right next to the beach and very large and clean. With balconies, indoor and outdoor seating and tables plus very comfortable beds. Everyone is very friendly and Irina and Leonidis are wonderful hosts, so helpful and hardworking. The snack bar is great for breakfast and on/after the beach (with free sun beds too) and in the evening Leonidis makes amazing quality cocktails. We can’t wait to book another trip!
