Absolutely faultless - we had a perfect wedding at the Maynard

Reviewed By P7466ECtb

We booked our wedding at relatively short-notice (7 months before) and knew that it would be the 7th wedding in a row for the Maynard team, so we didn't know what to expect. But on the day everything was absolutely faultless and we had an absolutely amazing time. On our wedding day (Sunday 5th June) Soraya our wedding co-ordinator greeted us the minute we walked in the door and the whole team had already ensured that all our guests were well-supplied with their reception drinks. I don't think I saw a single non-smiling face all afternoon and evening! Our speeches and meal were arranged seamlessly, with everyone being served very quickly and plates cleared away efficiently without feeling rushed. The DJ was really accommodating with our plentiful and admittedly unusual song requests, and managed to play all of them without a moment of empty dance-floor. When my new husband and I retired to our honeymoon suite (which is absolutely massive, with fantastic long-reaching views), the Maynard staff had already spirited our full card-box, cake topper and a generous supply of cake into the room, so it didn't feel like there was anything left for us to do but relax. We stayed for an extra night after our wedding day, so we got chance to sample a great selection of the amazing food on offer. Every meal was incredibly tasty with very generous portions, from the Eggs Florentine at breakfast to Polenta Cake in the evening. Overall, we couldn't have wished for a better wedding and can't thank the whole Maynard team enough for looking after us so well!

The bar is well stocked and has the atmosphere of being in a country pub.

Idyllic stay in a shepherd’s hut

Reviewed By Emma N

We stayed in one of the shepherd’s huts which was absolutely lovely. Really nicely done inside in a peaceful setting overlooking the lawns, with a cosy little wood burner too. We took our dog and it was great for him too. And very handy having the pub right on the doorstep. Fab breakfast in the morning with lots of options, to set us up for our day of walking in the Peaks!
