The finest Hotel & Spa in the Peak District National Park
My husband and I recently stayed to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The location and views are amazing. The rooms and food were both lovely and the staff were excellent, both before and during our stay. Thank you.

Surrounded by Derbyshire countryside, The Maynard is a 19 bedroom hotel, which has been decorated in a contemporary style whilst incorporating it's original features, to ensure the history of the building is not lost. With hotel breaks available for anniversaries, walking retreats or Chatsworth House & Gardens, there’s something here for everyone! Our Garden Room, which overlooks our stunning gardens, and our dog friendly Bar area, boast locally sourced food prepared by our team of experienced chefs who are always looking to bring something new to the table. The peaceful location may leave you wondering if you’re miles from civilisation. Fortunately, as well as benefiting from it's tranquil location, The Maynard is very well located for visitors from the outside world; The Maynard is less than 15 minutes from Sheffield by train, and within easy reach of the M1, A57 Snake Pass and A61 by car.
We booked our wedding at relatively short-notice (7 months before) and knew that it would be the 7th wedding in a row for the Maynard team, so we didn't know what to expect. But on the day everything was absolutely faultless and we had an absolutely amazing time. On our wedding day (Sunday 5th June) Soraya our wedding co-ordinator greeted us the minute we walked in the door and the whole team had already ensured that all our guests were well-supplied with their reception drinks. I don't think I saw a single non-smiling face all afternoon and evening! Our speeches and meal were arranged seamlessly, with everyone being served very quickly and plates cleared away efficiently without feeling rushed. The DJ was really accommodating with our plentiful and admittedly unusual song requests, and managed to play all of them without a moment of empty dance-floor. When my new husband and I retired to our honeymoon suite (which is absolutely massive, with fantastic long-reaching views), the Maynard staff had already spirited our full card-box, cake topper and a generous supply of cake into the room, so it didn't feel like there was anything left for us to do but relax. We stayed for an extra night after our wedding day, so we got chance to sample a great selection of the amazing food on offer. Every meal was incredibly tasty with very generous portions, from the Eggs Florentine at breakfast to Polenta Cake in the evening. Overall, we couldn't have wished for a better wedding and can't thank the whole Maynard team enough for looking after us so well!

This was our first stay back at the George post pandemic and it was a joy to return. The Hotel has been superbly refurbished, the staff in all areas of the hotel were first class and the food was excellent both at breakfast and in the evening. The bar is well stocked and has the atmosphere of being in a country pub.

Rushop Hall is a mixture of 17th & 18th century architecture, recently renovated to provide comfortable four star accommodation for our guests. Set in 40 acres of The Peak District National Park, the views are stunning and the welcome from your hosts, Jan & Neil, warm and friendly. We stayed in the main house for two nights and really recommend Rushop Hall. It's a very peaceful location but within easy reach of Castleton. The rooms are spotless and well furnished, with large windows overlooking fields. Breakfast was excellent - lots of variety and very tasty. The hosts are very accommodating and very helpful.

Traditional pub, bed and breakfast in Bradwell, Hope Valley selling a wide range of hand pulled cask beers.
Cannot fault this place on every occasion and tonight was Italian night. Having been to Italy many times I can honestly say this was tasty, well presented food and as always a great safe crowd of people and friends. Bradwell’s finest and long may it last. Thanks to all the team for another great night.

A family owned and run hotel and restaurant, situated 5 minutes walking distance outside of Hathersage upon 11 acres of lush land by the River Derwent.
We stayed in one of the shepherd’s huts which was absolutely lovely. Really nicely done inside in a peaceful setting overlooking the lawns, with a cosy little wood burner too. We took our dog and it was great for him too. And very handy having the pub right on the doorstep. Fab breakfast in the morning with lots of options, to set us up for our day of walking in the Peaks!
