Wonderful night's sleep!

Reviewed By titanictx2022

I came up to Anglesey from London in order to see the South Stack Lighthouse before making my way over to Ireland. The weather was incredible, and my stay at Witchingham was as well. Very comfortable and had a great night's sleep! Additionally, I was fortunate enough to get an incredible cabbie. Very fair priced, friendly, and dependable. I got his number after he dropped me off at Witchingham and called him up several times while there. When he said I'll be there at a certain time, he was there at that moment on the dot! Very reliable and would love to give him a shout out as well, if possible. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but his number is 07561 156 287

Welcoming Friendly Staff make up for shortfalls

Reviewed By lil_miss_brum

Staff are excellent, can't do enough to help. Room was fine, comfortable for a business stay. Prior to stay, email received to confirm shortage of staff and to not expect same service as usual. Bit of a shame. Rooms not being turned around during stay should have been optional, not by default. At £100 a night, having the tea and coffee tray refilled automatically should certainly be a minimum expectation. Not give reception yet another task to manage. A lot of menu items in the restaurant were not available on the first 2 (of 3) nights of our stay - we ate out on night 3. Location was good in terms of accessing Penrhos and Trearddur Bay for a change of scenery after work/alternative restaurant options.

Great for early morning ferry

Reviewed By suejL8489EU

We booked this as it's the closest hotel to the ferry terminal and has free parking. You know exactly what you're going to get when you book Travelodge - a no-frills, reasonably priced stay. I'm glad I didn't take too much notice of some of the reviews on this site. Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean - yes, maybe some of the common areas could do with a closer vacuum into the corners but our space was absolutely fine. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us directions and recommendations for pubs serving food.

Warning re Hotel cancelling a booking at very short notice

Reviewed By peterf416

Be aware that at this hotel if you have booked a number of visits and been given an agreed discount for multiple bookings they may well not be honoured by the hotel. I agreed a price for a visit on June the 3rd to 5th however after, thankfully, sending an email to confirm the booking and price on Thursday 26th I received a reply at 11.15pm Saturday informing me that my booking (originally made in February) could not be accepted at the agreed discounted price and the booking was cancelled. This meant that, as we were unable to find alternative accommodation in the area at such short notice, I had to cancel a number of restaurant bookings and trips. Not really professional we could have turned up on the 3rd after a 128 mile drive to find out we did not have a room. Definitely will not visit again!

A wonderful spot

Reviewed By Rickcs

A place I’ve known since it was built with folks I regard as dear friends over the years. A rural location with access to all manner of outdoor activity including world classic kayak areas. The centre is hugely versatile from camping, choices of ‘glamping’, bunkhouse, through to comfortable en suite rooms; catered or self catering. The lovely thoughtful touches are more apparent with every visit. An excellent on-site bar also offers very good food and drink. There has to be something for everyone. Don’t expect the hand and foot hotel experience; it’s not that kind of place. However, it’s the offering of incredibly hard working and sincere people giving of their very best in an industry that has been very difficult of late. For me, a spot to be treasured and highly recommended.

The Hut Wales - Seafront Inn

Our Holyhead guest house offers four warm and comfortable rooms, most of them with sea views. All rooms are cosy and have double-glazing and central heating, along with a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. There is free WiFi throughout the Hut Wales, and all rooms have en-suite shower rooms. Double rooms can also accommodate a travel cot, if required. Our sister business the Beach Hut Cafe and Bistro's breakfasts are legendary, and made using only the very best local ingredients. With outstanding local butcher’s sausages and thick cut bacon, along with free-range Caernarfon Hatchery eggs, breakfast really sets guests up for the day. Of course, lighter options are available, as well as vegetarian and vegan choices and alternatives for those with special dietary needs. We are also happy to supply breakfast baps to take away, so guests can start the day with breakfast on the beach if they wish. Packed lunches can also be prepared, to take along on a day exploring all that Anglesey has to offer.

Superb B&B!!

Reviewed By DaveJacqM

We've been visiting Anglesey for over 30 years and only recently discovered this super B&B after our regular 'go to' one closed. Well, we only wished we'd found it earlier. The room we had (2) was beautiful, spacious and well equipped with everything you need and a great en-suite/shower. The breakfast was amazing with good portions and produce. Good parking, great location only 2 mins off the A55 and around 10-15 mins from local seaside towns such as Rhosneigr or Trearddur Bay. What also makes here special is the owners, David and Debbie who personify what hosts should be like. Uber friendly, not intrusive and just here to help and make your stay the best that it can be. We cannot wait to return!!

Crossroads Guest House

Crossroads is a new guest house in Holyhead; the property has been completely remodeled and opened for the first time in 2006. It is a small completely family run guest house. Many guests who have stayed with us in our first year of opening are now reserving their accommodation for next year. 99% of our guests are going to or returning from Ireland. Our guest house may be new this year, but we are certainly not new to the business. We opened our first guest house in 1971 - this is now the fourth that we have constructed. We, like most of the other guest houses in Holyhead, are used by Stena Line & Irish Ferries.

Superb accommodation in Holyhead

Fabulous accommodation in Holyhead. We stayed 5 nights as a base for touring Anglesey. The room is off the main house with a comfy bed, shower, lots of storage and a small kitchen area with fridge and microwave. Breakfast items were supplied including porridge, fruit juice , yoghurt, cereals, croissants , milk, coffee tea etc. The hosts were lovely and very friendly. Lots of good advice on what to see on Anglesey. Situated quite near to the RSPB reserve at South Stack where we saw choughs and puffins. Lots of lovely walks in the area. We will definitely stay here again if we are travelling to Ireland.

I booked this as a bit of a spur of the moment overnight stay as we were visiting the area. Wow what can I say that hasn’t already been said, fantastic clean room with what I can only say is the best hotel bed we have slept in. The hosts are fantastic and made our stay just perfect. We will definitely stay again when we are back in the area and highly recommend the Haven to anyone.
