Reviewed By Saharacell8Stayed for five night holiday at the Timor Plaza Hotel, Dili which is just a one hour travel by air from Darwin. Hotel provides good quality rooms with a high level of customer service. Staff are very friendly and nothing was a problem. Full Buffet breakfast is included, local Timorese coffee was served and IMHO was superb. Restaurant has an extensive menu with both western and Asian cruisine The hotel is located within a shopping centre and cinema complex and caters for most needs. There is a happy hour on Friday nights with entertainment plus food market on Saturday evenings. Overall a fantastic holiday experience and great value. Not normally on the radar for Australians but definitely a must visit holiday experience.

Atauro's first Dive Resort, our fully equipped dive centre offers daily trips to the numerous dive spots around the island. Whales and doplhins can be seen in October/November every year. Our cabins are right at the beach aswell as the restaurant where you can enjoy our delicious food, cold drinks and our home made ice cream. No eftpos/card payments available, USD CASH only accepted. Mastercards are no longer accepted anywhere in Timor Leste.

Rooms were ok wooden villas were great, accom accross the road was baking hot and horrible. Toilets are eco toilets but they smell really bad. Food was top shelf made by the local staff who really add value. Amazing home made ice cream. Vege options were great too but often no variety in meals... Volker the owner however, is a real dirty piece of work. This resort offers discounts for multiple dives however, the owner will often back track on his word. He will lie, cheat and not keep his word any chance he can if it means he saves one dollar... I do not recommend this dive resort for the reason that the owner just wants to take advantage. My suggestion is to stay at another resort on the island an be treated with respect. Its worth the extra few dollars it costs.

Simple but good
Reviewed By MadeleneS26Had a long stopover and Stayed one night at Timor Lodge, just by the airport. Transfer is free and the staff is so friendly. I had a single room in one of the trailers, and they used to house the soldiers during the war. But it was clean, and the bar/restaurang has a huge pool. Good food and excellent service. The bed has seen better days, but good valuble for the money.

Older property with great hospitality
Reviewed By Renata SI wish Tripadvisor has a “good” rating because this hotel is above average but not yet very good. “Good” is better description of it. I booked the hotel through booking sites, which stated that I will pay at the hotel. Upon checking in, I learned that they only accept Visa and not MasterCard. Nowhere did I got that information before my arrival and you would expect that MasterCard should be accepted all over the world. I made a big fuss of it because some of my colleagues and I were prepared to pay with MasterCard. Thank goodness someone from our group bring extra cash so we can pay our hotel! I later learned that in Dili they only accept Visa, if card is accepted at all. However I wish this is made clear in advance. Aside from the MasterCard incidence, my stay at the hotel went smoothly. The staff and manager were eager to serve. Staff always greets me with a smile and was quick to deliver whatever requested. Their hospitality is much appreciated! The property is old but kept clean. My standard room is spacious, equipped with fridge and electric kettle (you have to ask for it), water pressure was OK and hot water was available. Bathroom definitely need to be refurbished. Wifi was a bit slow and cannot be accessed by iPhone. Breakfast food usually consists of white rice, fried rice/other carb, meat/fish, veggies, and soup, which works well for my Indonesian taste. There are also egg, toast, and fruit. Better come before 8 AM if you want to have full selection of fruits. Airport transfer is also provided for free. The hotel is located near Pantai Kelapa, which is at the end of Embassy row. It is 10’ slow walking to the beach, and there’s a local market right on the corner if you feel like buying fresh fruit. The only restaurant nearby is Aru, which is pricey. The Timor Plaza mall is about 20’ walking. I’ve tried riding microlet no. 9 to go to Letefoho Coffee and Centro supermarket from the intersection in front of Aru, so the hotel is accessible by public transport. Beware that the hotel may be running a promotional rate below the booking websites’ price. I booked online at $75/night, while the price at the hotel was only $60.

Reviewed By DietmarGruberThis hotel is safe because there is a guard outside. They do not speak English very well, but we are in Timor-Leste. The room was clean with shower and goog beds. The price is right. Stuff was not so friendly. It is also very loud caused by music in the evening and it is also a one-hour hotel, so you know what you get.

Modern, Clean and Spacious Hotel

However inside it was really modern, clean and spacious and the internet works well. It was much nicer than the outside would suggest, the bathroom was modern and clean. Breakfast was also really good. A few things that weren't so good, my AC unit was really noisy, and this hotel is really expensive for Asia. But in general Dili is really expensive, probably due to the lack of tourism. I went to the reception a few times and couldn't find anyone, so I think they should try and ensure that the reception is staffed. I couldn't fault anything in the room though, a modern, clean hotel room.

NOVO TURISMO Resort & Spa could easily be described as an Innovation Centre. Everything can be done under the one roof; it is truly a multi-functional property. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye, contemporary Portugese architecture with soft arches and strong wooden frames. Natural Stone creates a magnificent textured wall feature. The lobby entrance is a commanding and truly amazing wooden steeped high rise roof, absolutely elegance.

O melhor compound junto ao mar em Dili
Reviewed By MiguelMLamyI lived at Arbiru Beach Resort for almost 2 years and the premises where good. Daily cleaning and very relaxing space where you sleep far from the busy streets but still in the city centre .the best is definitely the location because it is literally by the será! After a busy day i recommend to walk 30 meters from the compound and enjoy a fresh coconut at Ocean View while feeling thesea on your feet
