Just Ok - some bad things
Reviewed By mrisinNo way is this a 5 star hotel even by Chinese standards. More like 3.5. Horrible Internet. Pretty much non existent. If you need reliable internet do not stay here. I had to tether to my phone and use the cellular data network to do anything. Air conditioning was also horrible. 26 degrees in my room all night. Unbearable. Good points: - room was good and clean except for internet and AC - breakfast is very good - staff are responsive and good This town needs better hotels if they want to attract foreign business people

Reviewed By masirui15I have no idea how this place has received such high reviews ~ let me share my first-hand experience and warn you to AVOID. Read all before booking ~ Pros: 1) Scenic location surrounded by convenient walking trails. To be fair, many other lodgings in Moganshan offer the same accessibility even though they are not 'isolated'. Cons: 1) Food is a joke. For the love of god, please tell me of another hotel in China that charges 1000+RMB per night and serves a supermarket frozen pizza on their menu. Owner should be embarrassed. 2) Stupid pricing, you will feel like you're being nickel and dimed for everything. 10RMB for an extra coffee at breakfast. 200RMB for a roasted chicken. 100+ RMB for a grocery store pizza. The property justifies the prices as they say the location is 'isolated'. It's not 'isolated' folks, the property is 5 min away from a 4-lane highway. 3) Rooms and furnishings are not high quality. I hope your partner is a deep sleeper as every time you move in the bed it will make a big noise. 4) Bugs everywhere. It is NORMAL to have a critter or two sneak into a room in a rural location. It's NOT NORMAL to have bugs constantly in the room. No joke — I counted 10+ cockroaches in one evening. They just kept coming...I was told this is 'normal' and handed a bottle of bug spray. 5) Be aware that the drivers recommended by the hotel charge DOUBLE what a DiDi will charge. I was told that sometimes DiDi drivers don't want to drive up to the 'isolated' location, hahah — it's not isolated and it was super easy to get a DiDi. In summary, this place is a complete rip off and preys upon people who don't know any better.

Fantastic Day Retreat from Hangzhou
Reviewed By Alex PMy wife and I joined a group of friends for a dinner and an overnight stay at the Naked Stables. Right from the start the service was impeccable. We arrived by car from Hangzhou and were greeted with a smile. The check-in procedure was done very efficiently and any additional information which I requested was provided immediately. We were driven to our Earth Hut in the middle of the forest. The room was well designed and had all the amenities you would expect. The terrace and the peacefulness made it even more perfect. I decided to enjoy the surrounding area and decided to hike with our dog (pets are allowed) to Naked Castle and back before dinner. The dinner was perfect from the service & kitchen side and can only be highly recommended. We had a great night sleep in the tranquil surroundings and joined our friends who decided to stay at the Naked Castle for breakfast which was equally tasty and the service was perfect once again. We are looking forward to our stay at either of the resorts soon.

Reviewed By Rodolph68My wife and I had a great time at Arcadia. Both place and people were amazing. We went there to celebrate our weeding birthday. Choice was correct. They did all they could to make us feeling home. At the end we extended our stay by 1 day. Arcadia is a boutique place. Rooms are nice with great view. Around the hotel, few trails exist to walk among the bamboos. We went there to take our time and relax. Goal has been reached! We will go back! Less than 3 hours from Shanghai. Also a great place for whisky lovers! Ernest, the owner, has a real good collection.

Impressive venue, not so great on details

Zones are well planned including the village area that is open to public; Comes with great historical significance and stories that could be better told. However, the service staff while polite and efficient, are clearly not hospitality trained and so don’t go the extra mile. (Considering that they charge as much as a ultra luxury hotel in shanghai per night, this is disappointing) But the two things that mar it for us are (1) the incessant use of drones in the area and (2) the open air karaoke at night. The first is not just an outright violation of privacy for all guests (and the resort does not seem to have any policies to guide it - we complained twice only to have them gently tell the drone owners to stop flying them so close to our rooms which only meant that they stopped for an hour and restarted again) It is also a noise pollutant. The open air karaoke is just a bad idea. The tranquility of the mountain shattered by bad singing and it does not disrupt the peace of the rooms near it but also for everyone else on the mountain.

A nice and quiet villa in Moganshan
Reviewed By raw42I've tried few different hospitalities in Moganshan area and this villa is my favorite! This location is ideal for a weekend with friends... My advice is to bring your food for the weekend and enjoy the BBQ, the pétanque field and the nice garden with your friends. I spent a very relaxing time there! A must ! :)

Maxium capacity 20Pax small lodge in a small town called HouWu Town,which is right below the Mogan Mountain.We are proud of our great BBQ. More than 2000people tried it. You won't regret to try our BBQ.We have Four air-conditioned Private Bedroom with private bathroom and One dormitory for 8 people. Our lodge is good for small group for party for 16~20 people.
A great weekend gateway!

Fresh air, delish local food, the bamboo forest, tea plantations, and birds breaking into a song every morning... my friends and I had a great time. The owner Steve was such a wonderful host. He took us on a stunning 4 hours hike and his mum cooked us delish breakfasts and dinners. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds are really comfy. The rooms on the second floor overlook the stunning green scenery of the bamboo forests. The big deck outside is the best spot to enjoy the surrounding scenery of the lodge, and besides that, u can also do yoga here- the owner provides yoga mats, and if you enjoy mountain biking that can also be arranged by the owner. I highly recommend this place for whoever wants to escape from the noisiness of the city and enjoy the peaceful ambiance of Moganshan. Thank you once again to Steven (the owner) for the lovely stay.
