The Grove

The Grove is a Georgian family-run guest house, self-catering cottages and restaurant situated in four acres of gardens on the Norfolk coast. Set back from the road and with plenty of parking as well as a heated indoor swimming pool, we are ten minutes' walk from Cromer town centre and just a few minutes through woodland from the cliffs and beach.

A wonderful family holiday

Reviewed By teresadU9920WM

My family all stayed in 3 cottages and a yurt for 4 nights over the jubilee weekend. The Grove has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and is perfect for young children. The garden is beautiful and great for children. I stayed in the Cottage which does seem a bit dark and could do with a ‘face lift’ We enjoyed the Sundown which is great for the family and the restaurant ( for adults) where the food was excellent. The children’s playground could be better but overall we had a wonderful stay and have booked again next year. Many thanks to all the staff!

Good hotel for its rating, pleasant staff

This hotel punches above its weight of a 3 star. It is in a decent location and well kept. The pool could do with an upgrade but the rooms were very modern looking. The restaurant staff catered for our needs. There are Vegetarian and Vegan options on the menu though the meat replacements used in some of the foods aren't clear on the menu. Overall this is a good choice for families and couples staying in the area. Lots to do locally including the Priory Maze which was a pleasant surprise.

A Pleasant Stay

Reviewed By Dez_11

The Cliftonville is a lovely hotel close to the pier and within easy walking distance of Cromer Town Centre. It was clean and well appointed with very friendly staff throughout. We had a sea view room on the second floor which was comfortable and clean, although there were some patches of damage to the ceiling (especially in the bathroom) that could do with attending to. One note of caution would be that (in at least room 20 and 21) they have machinating (electrically powered) toilets which are VERY noisy and during the night we were woken up pretty much every time next door used it! The food in the hotel was good, especially the breakfast choice, and served in a lovely old ballroom with a statement fireplace and stained glass windows. I kept hoping for a band of minstrels to appear on the gallery! I thought the drinks prices were a little high for the grade of hotel. Although the hotel does have some parking around it - it isn't a lot and some of the space are a little tight if you have a bigger car. I wouldn't rely on being able to park opposite the hotel on the street at busy or popular times of the year either but there is a pay and display car park next door. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at The Cliftonville and would definitely recommend it to others.

The staff led by Courtney were very professional and always had a great big smile on their faces. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast had a large choice and the food was fresh, tasty, hot and plentiful. The bar had a good verity of beers, gins, spirits and wines. We can not recommend this hotel highly enough and we can not wait to return in July! Thank you.

A fantastic couple of days

Reviewed By coinyb

A fantastic couple of nights. The hosts were great and bent over backwards to meet our needs. 10/10 for cleanliness and facilities. Fresh towels and room cleaned every day of our stay. Our room was not massive but more than adequate for our needs. Fresh, crisp bed sheets which seemed like new. The breakfast was lovely and the hosts were more than willing to make whatever we asked for, always offering more. No cheap produce was used and a great variety. A few minuets walk to the sea front with no problems around the on street parking. Would definitely return and recommend.
