How lucky were we to get to stay here… my partner had mentioned re staying a few times and I thought, I’ll just check and there it was, 1 room available for a mid week stay - rang and spoke with Stacey and room Millett was quickly booked. We arrive to a warm welcome by Stacey and a glass of bubbles - totally unexpected.. we were given a show of the property, it is just lovely, tons of history and felt immediately relaxed.. the room was beautiful, big bath, four poster and a view of the gardens - so very nice! Champagne was in a bucket on ice as requested which just set the scene for a lovely stay.. After dinner out in the beautiful village, we returned and enjoyed a drink from the honesty bar in the sitting room in front of a log fire - loved it.. Breakfast next day was fantastic, plenty of choice and delicious- we forgot to fill out the breakfast card the night before, and remembered at 05.30 in the morning! Not a problem.. staff were super friendly and a delight. Stacey was fantastic throughout and made this all possible so a huge thanks for all your help. We will definitely be returning and hope to be back soon!!

White Hart Royal Hotel

The White Hart Royal Hotel is conveniently located in the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh at the head of the beautiful Evenlode Valley in the English Cotswolds. The hotel was and still is a great coaching inn. Its reputation was enhanced when King Charles I sheltered in the inn following the battle of Marston Moor on 2nd July 1644. A copy of the King’s unpaid bill is commemorated on a plaque within the entrance lobby.

An amazing short break

Reviewed By shorthauled

We have just returned from a 3 day break in the Cotswolds, staying at the White Hart, chosen as a result of a link to a distant relative who once owned it. What an amazing hotel, brimming with warmth and character. Dating back to 17th century, full of original features and sensitive restoration, it oozes history. Small, cozy rooms, each with their own purpose, beautifully furnished. The bedrooms reflect its age, with undulating wooden floors, but so well furnished and fitted. The staff in all areas, from reception, bar, restaurant, housekeeping were friendly, polite, and went out of their way to make this a memorable stay. I highly recommend the hotel, with some free parking directly outside, but not guaranteed on certain days and at busy times (Tuesday market especially). The restaurant was superb with high quality food, reasonably priced. Couldn't have had a better break. Thanks to all who made us so welcome!

The Lygon Arms

Imagine a hotel where roaring log-burning open fireplaces hint at its roots dating from the 1300's, with a vaulted ceiling and original wood panelling built in the seventeenth century. Visit a hotel that has been coloured by the characters of history. At The Lygon Arms, with its 86 rooms you can stay in the suite that King Charles I once stayed in the night before the Battles of Worcester in 1651. See the carvings of John Travis' name on the arch of the front door, etched into the hotel's history in 1620. An historic hotel in the heart of Broadway with a typically Cotswolds history. Dine in Bar & Grill or the Wine Bar, or enjoy a coffee or a Cotswold Gin and Tonic in one of our many lounges. A spa , swimming pool and The Lygon Gardens await you but most importantly the team look forward to welcoming you. .

We had the best day of our life thanks to Charingworth and the wonderful staff. Aside from being incredibly friendly to us and all our guests, they were so professional and organised throughout the day, we didn't need to worry about a thing. Magda, Dan and Anna handled everything so that we didn't have to and we can't thank them enough. Everything went off without a hitch and all the food throughout the day was exquisite. Our guests were delighted with the food and drink and their rooms too. We had an absolute blast and are looking forward to coming back for our first anniversary already. To other brides and grooms - we would absolutely recommend Charingworth, the venue is magical and the staff are so attentive! All the best, Mr & Mrs Davies (James & Nicola)

From the welcome greeting to the departing, this hotel was a wonder to stay at. It even has free electric charging for vehicles. We received a very warm greeting that was not opened with "Are you checking in?" The lady "in charge" of the kitchen at breakfast was wonderful and such a plus to the stay, she must love her job as she was smiling and making pleasantries throughout. The room was immaculate and clean, all we could have asked for. Visiting this area again, this is our go to hotel.

Beautiful Surroundings & Facilities

Reviewed By Jim S

Staff, facilities and views were all great. In fact there were magnificent views from every window in the hotel. This is a good location for a break - even for non-golfers! We were surprised that there was no lift available when you are on the 3rd floor. Even though you could ask for help with suitcases, it wasn't volunteered at check-in - and you still have the stairs to contend with several times each day (NB we don't have mobility issues and are reasonably fit - more of a convenience thing for us). Also a bit disappointed with the very limited choices on the set evening meal menu (eg only six main courses, two of which were veggie, two meat and two fish), AND the menu did not change during our stay (not even with added "specials"). This meant that for stays of more than a couple of days you are running out of choices. Menu was also same as the sample on the website when we booked, so we don't know how often this is changed .

The Best Service, But Not the Housekeeping

There is parking a few minutes walk away. The room was lovely. Large. Bathroom was also very good and large. Location is also excellent. Unfortunately, the room cleaning is not the best. The fridge had what looked like the previous guests’ leftover milk and water. The bathroom bin was not cleared after on our 3rd day. The carpet was slightly stained in the room and along the corridor. Otherwise, the stay would have been perfect.

The patio is a great place to have a before dinner drink or an after dinner glass of wine. The restaurant is great, a yummy place for breakfasts and dinners. The food is delicious and the menu has some great choices. The wonderful people that work there are very knowledgeable about surrounding towns and tourist places. It was the same last year when we called but I gave them allowance due to covid. Seems nothing has changed.
