Very clean, well organized, good breakfast, everything is new and the owner is very friendly. The only thing which can be improved are the bathroom amenities, which are below modus' standard and not enough in quantity. But overall, an excellent address and a value for price difficult to match. Excellent location in the town but yet quiet and right in the front of a pharmacy (always useful when traveling).

What a magical place this is! Nestled in a small valley, 5 min drive from Brisighella, or a 15 min walk. 3 very well appointed rooms await you and the warm hospitality of Marco and his family. Setting, the building was built in the 13th century and comprises the main accommodation (3 bedrooms) and a Chapel with authentic frescos and high ceilings. They are literally building a swimming pool right now which should be ready for July! To the north and west, the grounds are full of vineyards and you can sample the very tasty red wine for €10. Communal areas are available to use anytime you wish, the Chapel and lounge area. A fridge is there to use if you need it. The rooms. We had the room on the south wall with 3 windows. I think it's the largest and we loved it. High ceilings, a round lovely window and separate large bathroom. The shower was exceptional, loved it's space and power. The bed was firm, which we much prefer. A choice of pillows to use. The furniture is antique and quirky. Not 100% practical for storage, however it does the room perfectly and we loved its look. We decided to open the windows and leave them open and we didn't need the AC at all. Breakfast, is served between 8:30 and 10:30. Yoghurt, cereal, bread, croissants, marmalade, honey, fruit, juices and lovely, much needed coffee. Nothing was too much trouble and we even tried fried flowers a delicacy only available for 1 week of the year. Talking with Marco, we had a lovely time understanding the passion they have for this place. It was wonderful and they are great hosts. This is a good base to see the area, Bologna is 1 hour as is Ravenna. San Marino is 1.5 hours drive. Plenty of small Appenine hilltop villages to explore nearby as well as lovely Brisighella. Overall fantastic value for money and a wonderful experience. We would love to return someday! Thank you

Lost in the past

Sadly left behind in the twentieth century (and around the 50's probably) I'm afraid. The landlady was indeed delightful but that cannot make up for the lack of quality that we all now expect. The bathroom was clean but pretty poor and the shower minute, I'm not a big guy but struggled to turn around! The television was in a wardrobe and internet could not be picked up in the room. Breakfast poor, not a good thing for cyclists trying to fuel up before a big ride.

I use to go to Morattina for weekend or just for a quick break from the noises of Bologna and its always one the best places I've ever been in our beatiful country. Stunning views, magic atmospheres, perfect climate in all seasons and the best hospitality typical of Romagna region and more. Food is tasty and delicious and wine made in Morattina is probably better than the wine you drink in Chiantishire. The park around and the countryside nearside is perfect for walking, cycling and biking. Finally, sleeping in Morattina is a peaceful experience and something really unforgettable.

A disappointment

Reviewed By Alicia M

The place is situated in a very nice surrounding, with an amazing nature. The owner is nice and has a very good knowledge about the region and can provide valuable information and tips about where to eat and what to visit. However, the overall presentation is misleading with several descriptions that are not correct: 1. First of all; this is a B&B and nothing else. The signs at the highway also says it’s a B&B 2. There is not a restaurant, the only staff is Andrea, the owner, that when booking with anticipation can offer a cold selection of jam & cheese and simple pasta dishes. He cannot offer a menu or complete meal as stated when booking the room. This is really a limitation because the place is almost 8 km from Brisighella (not 5 km as stated on the description). 3. Is not really a SPA wellness, is a simple B&B that have ONE very expensive suite with a small sauna, a steam room and outdoor heated Jacuzzi viable for the rest of the property. When the room is not booked, other guests can book these facilities during two hours at a price of 30 € per person, i.e. 60€ for 2 persons for 2 hours. As being high season, the room was booked and the only availability that could be offered during our 5-night stay was on the last day at 3 pm. 4. The activities and descriptions from the website are just another misleading information. They can’t be offer, there are no treatments and the massage could “not be possible”. The visit to a winery was also not possible but after asking several times, a wine producer from the region came with two bottle of wine (one white and one red), both “vino da tavola”, served in the same glasses with no knowledge at all about what wine tasting is. This was anyhow a nice experience but not at all was is described and what we were expected to pay for. 5. Our room was described as “deluxe” and the description on the web is that there are “luxurious rooms” when in reality it was very simple with low standard, bad lighting and with mold in the bathroom. The pictures have been taken in a way that mislead. The suite is the room that is provably luxurious, not the other ones. 6. Internet was very poor, during the first night it went down in the evening and because there is not staff on site, it was no solved until next morning. In general, the internet connection was very unstable 7. There is no staff on-site, Andrea comes in the morning to serve breakfast and to receive the new guests and then he leaves. He returns late in the afternoon for a short while in case it was needed to serve the simple food that he can offer. After that he leaves which also implies that the dirty dishes remain on the table until the next day . On our first day, the couple staying on the room beside us where in a terrible fight, shouting very, very high in Italian and throwing things in the room. We thought that someone was being maltreated and got very nervous, but we were just alone in the middle of nowhere and had to knock on their door to stop the fight. This was a very unpleasant moment that occurred just two hours after we arrived. In summary, the whole place was a disappointment because of the enormous gaps between the descriptions and the reality. With the current offer and price, I would not recommend it. There are several places nearby that can offer more and cost 40% less.

Lovely B&B in the countryside

We were here for two nights during Christmas. We got a bigger room, without paying extra. It was a romantic room with all comfort. It was quiet and you could darken the room. The bed was great, so was the shower. We got the key, so we felt free. The village is small and beautiful. You can walk around and have dinner at several good places. Real Italian atmosphere.
