Great bar staff

Reviewed By Martin M

Visited this hotel as part of a family celebration. Fantastic hotel not far from city centre. Excellent garden bar and we were looked after at the bar by Logan and the team. Logan was terrific and is a great ambassador for the hotel. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back the next time we are in Abingdon.

Clean, but dated.

Reviewed By NZsparkles

Staff were nice and friendly, did take a while to check in but staff apologised. Room clean but dated snd everything looked a bit worn. No lift which wasn't great as we have a little boy. Staff were helpful, always giving us tea and coffee snd extra bin bags. Tea and coffee were always in a bag which was a complete waste, but was maybe done for covid reason. Didn't use the beefeater next door as I find them pricey for whst they are, had mcdonalds, Costa and harvester in walking distance. Would use again if I needed to.

A fashionable restaurant for a great night out.

Reviewed By emmamurray2016

We had a great night out with friends. The setting is well designed, so we felt like we had our own little area to sit. The staff were friendly and attentive, There is a large menu with something for most tastes. We enjoyed, beef burgers, chicken burgers, the lamb koftas and mushroom pasta and risotto. The meals were generous and fresh and well presented. We all went for puddings too. The favourite was the crumble and the bannoffe sundae. Overall a hugely enjoyable place to go with friends.

Excellent Afternoon Tea

Reviewed By 830eileend

We booked for Afternoon Tea at 1 o’clock and we were not disappointed. We were lucky enough to be able to sit outside in the garden overlooking the river. We had a mixture of lovely fresh sandwiches and the scones are the best I have ever eaten. Along with some tasty cakes. Highly Recommend and we will definitely be returning

Disappointed

Reviewed By Voyager678643

Stayed here one night ...no lift, bathroom smelled musty, mattress on small bed passed it's best, very lumpy. The room, entrance and hallways of the hotel - all need decorating and updating. Went for breakfast at 8.40 and we're told they were fully booked, hard to believe as there were many free tables. Having used premier inn hotels for many years, we won't be staying here again.

Blackbull Inn

Delightful

Reviewed By SALLY ANNE H

We visit this country pub nearly every week. We have never had a bad meal or bad service in this pub. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the lovely staff remember you and acknowledge you even if they are busy. The food is well cooked and always plenty of it. Today they had a large group of people in but the staff made time to be attentive to us, and made sure we were timely served. I have nothing but praise for this place. However if its fine dining you are after i suggest you go somewhere else where you will pay fine dining prices. This is pub grub, well presented, well priced in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

Probably the best B&B I have ever stayed in

Reviewed By Daibach57

I have had the pleasure of staying at Rafters a number of times on business trips to Oxford and have always been impressed with the place. Sigrid is a delightful lady (also met her husband Arne on one occasion) who cooks a first class breakfast and the rooms are very clean and comfortable (apart from the water bed in one room, it may not even be there now, but I found it horrible and ended up sleeping on the floor). That did not detract from my overall impression of Rafters, however, so I would have no hesitation at all in recommending them. I should add these visits were in the mid 2000's, I just never got around to leaving the review until something reminded me today!
