Perfect for transit
Reviewed By FlofifLocated just across sokcho express bus terminal, this new hotel was perfect place for transit. Especially people who plan to visit Seoraksan Mountain. The room was tiny so it was not adequate for big luggage. But it was clean & simple. The staff was friendly & helpfull. They also provided luggage storage.

Welcom to Sokcho!!Cozy and neat room with breakfast in James BLuE.The hostel James BLuE is located in the middle of the most touristic places in Sok-Cho.Sok-cho intercity bus terminal, Bus stop for Mt.Seorak, Beach, Abai-town, Jung-ang traditional market and Dong-myung harbor. These are all in FIVE - TEN minutes to get on FOOT!Free WIFI, Breakfast, Laundry, Cafeteria, Outdoor terrace, Bar.Every room has each free WiFi.Simple breakfast will be served in the morning 8 to 10 AM for free.You can do your laundry for free.You can use plates, cups something like that in the cafeteria 8AM to 11PM.Make some friends in cafeteria.Outside of cafeteria there is a terrace you can use.If you ask me about this city I will tell you the real information about this city.Information on internet is not that good.We have 4 kind of rooms. Dormitory room(Four beds, Six beds), Single room (for 1-2 people), Double Room(for 3-4 people), Family room(for 5-6 people)There are two kind of dorm rooms. One of them has two bunk beds. Reviewed By zmz99Very helpfull and friendly host. The hostel just nearby the beach. We stay in rooms for 2. Got balcony to dry your cloth and rooftop terrace to enjoy the night. Basic breakfast just like common hotel. Wi-fi is great too. p/s : Got dog but don't worry, she is super friendly.

Peaceful and close to park
Reviewed By tuckerbagYou could easily base yourself in the city of Sokcho and bus up to Seoraksan National Park daily and at first I thought this would have suited me better but I really liked this hotel and It's location It was out of season so super quiet and the owner upgraded me from dorm bed to a double room. There were hardly any other guests. You can walk to the park (2miles) or grab the bus but you end up in traffic queues if you do. There are loads of eateries close by and a C&U store round the corner so no need to worry about stocking up for trails. The roads leading up and down from the hotel are lit with coloured lights at night and the fresh mountain air was glorious at that time. Sokcho is 20mins by bus if you want to go in and back and look out for the park visitor centre for the stop you need for Red House

Nice to stay if only to sleep
Reviewed By Jeannie CThe good... - Cozy room with sturdy bunk beds, and comfortable beddings - Full size locker with padlocks in common area - Location is fantastic...very close to dining and bus stations - Owner is very helpful and considerate; specially prepared food for our early morning plans to hike Seoraksan. Also very responsive in all of our communications. The bad... - Aircon was not working, but thankfully it was Spring and cooling; and we could open the netted windows - Shower/Toilet is tiny but proportionate to the room size. A shower head that can be angled would be helpful. - If you are a light sleeper, passerbys in the lane outside the rooms may be an issue

A decent place to stay around Soraksan
Reviewed By Dr_RohanThis family run guesthouse is decent place to stay during visit to Soraksan mountain range. Its located 10 km from Sokcho city and about 4 Km from Soraksan entrance. You need a car or a taxi ride to arrive here. In the night there is nothing open around it. Since there is nothing much to do here, it is better to arrive as late as possible just ready for a sleep. If you need dinner, you better take some food and drinks with you. Rooms are clean and the lady who runs the place is extremely friendly and flexible.

Reviewed By flak_canadaWe spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel located across the street from the Intercity Bus Terminal. The good size rooms are very clean with a/c, tv, hairdryer and all necessary toiletries. Staff was great and helpful even though there was a bit of a language barrier. Breakfast is also included (toast, cereal, coffee and juice). Would stay here again.

Une belle et assez grande cuisine que l’on peut tous utiliser jusqu’à 23h. Petit déjeuner inclus avec des œufs également. Une salle de bain par chambre. Tout est ultra propre, même les espaces communs. Eau chaude, Clim, WIFI, petit frigo, TV, sèche cheveux… pas de coffres-forts. Je recommande cet établissement, situé proche arrêt de bus.

Beautiful Quaint Guesthouse
Reviewed By kanochromiaI went during September fall break of 2017. I was from Andong, so the trip was super long! There were two bus terminals, and I reached at the one which was the further one from this guesthouse. However, there is a bus that goes to the major street near the guesthouse. Problem is guessing the bus schedule, but you can just take a taxi there as well if you have lots of luggage. McDonald's is nearby, Burger King is closer. I was there during Chuseok, so lots of shops were closed. Not a problem! The place is slightly on an incline. There's a hill that you can hike right outside the place. It's clean, beautiful. Has a huge patio at the front. The kitchen/living space is just at the entrance. The toilets/showers are on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the second floor. There's lockers, but those small school sized lockers enough to fit your valuables. Bed frames are wooden and the beds are SO COMFORTABLE! I had the bottom bunk, and there's this privacy screen. The rooms were tastefully decorated. The owners (are so adorable) have an adorable dog which usually isn't in the living space except at night. But he/she is always under supervision. A lovely friendly dog :) My roomies were so awesome too! Just my luck to have awesome people in the room. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10am, which is great! There's a bus that goes to Seoraksan from the same major street as well. It's near the sea too, if you want to go for a jog. All in all, I totally recommend this place if you're a couple/solo on backpacking. Don't bring too many luggages if you're going by bus. It is still in center, but a little off center from everywhere else. You can walk, but it'll get chilly at night because of the land breeze. :)
