A couple of things need tweaking, but nice overall

Reviewed By BlueSkies43

We had a party of four and arrived on Wednesday. The hotel is on a beautiful, tree lined street in a very nice area. It is a very short walk to a variety of nice restaurants. Le Cordon Bleu (the only one in South America) is across the street from the hotel. The hotel grounds are well kept and nicely landscaped. The hotel’s glass door entrance is right at the sidewalk and a doorman was always there 24/7. The entrance was locked our entire stay making us feel very safe. The person at the front desk and all of the remainder of the staff were polite, friendly, and extremely accommodating. We had rooms 215 and 216. Both rooms were very clean. Bed linens were nice and crisp, towels were new, clean, and plush. No elevator in that wing of the hotel, but very easy to get the luggage to the room. There were four steps, a landing, and four more steps to the second floor. Both rooms were generous in size with large bathrooms and nice clean showers. There were no tubs. The receptacles accommodated both 220v and 110v appliances/phone chargers, etc. One room had a refrigerator the other did not. Room 216 smelled musty the entire stay. The room was so damp that the clothes in our suitcases stayed damp. There were large cracks completely surrounding the frosted glass window in the bathroom which definitely attributed to the room’s dampness. The bathroom walls in 216 stayed wet with condensation until room service wiped them down each day. Room 215 was not damp nor musty smelling. Every night after 10:00 pm, there was a lot of street noise, banging of trash cans, people talking loudly on the street and dogs barking. This lasted into the night. Each morning at the break of dawn, the songbirds began singing and chirping. The first two nights were quiet inside the hotel but on the Friday night, several people came up the stairs in the wee hours of the morning. They were shouting loudly at each other, slamming doors and carrying on. This went on for a couple of hours. There was a breakfast every morning. It looked and smelled delicious and had lots of choices but we didn’t try it. There was a safe in each room to store valuables. The room furnishings were old and could benefit from a little updating. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the Pacific Ocean with a beautiful view. There is also a beautiful Catholic church in walking distance Overall, it was a nice place to stay and I would go back. But I would ask for a different room and see what it’s like before agreeing to it to avoid the damp, musty lingering inside.

So First I did a reservation to the 24.4 and paid half from the price ahead. Then I had problems with my flight so I had to cancel. I didn’t got the money I paid ahead back (no complaints about it) and the hostel didn’t ask for the rest. Than, I did another reservation for the 3.5 and again paid half from the price ahead. When I arrived they told me that I need to pay the other half for the night of 3.5 and the other half for the night of 24.4! I asked them why they didn’t tell it before? Why is it a surprise? And what was happening if I didn’t came there? I asked these questions several times and the only answer I got was that I have to pay. Finally they told me that the cancellation policy is to pay the full price. I told them that they charge me only half from the price a head and if they ask to charge the full price when I cancel I will pay, but not more then a week after when I’m there to an other reservation. I have all the chat from WhatsApp and the papers from the hostel to prove this story. This is a scam.

Lovely hostel in the heart of miraflores. Lovely rooms, excellent amenities, perfect location. Most importantly: Cannot stress enough how GREAT the staff is here. Sheila at the bar is a delight: helpful, hilarious, a great dancer and an even better bartender. Our trip was made 10x better for her recommendations. Jesus, also from the bar, showed us the local nightlife, kept us safe, and made sure we had some of the best nights ever! Cesar was incredibly helpful on the home front, made sure we felt seen and understood. And Daniel was a delight as well, making sure we were safe and supported. He even helped us push a cancellation through when last minute circumstances kept us from returning for our final night. The entire staff here are amazing, from first to last, and they make this place feel like home. Can't wait to come back!

My Great stay At the "Albergue Verde Hostel"

Reviewed By robbyAlbright

We stayed there for a total of 6 days. And I can honestly say it was a great experience, the staff was very nice and helpful, and always made sure we were well taken care of and safe. The Rooms were cleaned everyday (Very clean btw) and I am not sure how they did it, but they seemed to always make my bed so perfectly, you would come home to a fresh towel on a fantastically made bed. ( Very nice experience) There was service 24/7 and was always available to help. There were 2 ladies that worked there. one of them was a girl named Nathaly, very sweet and great hard worker. She would usually take the night shifts and always had a good attitude towards it :) Couldn´t of asked for more from her. She also made sure our luggage was safe when it was time for us to move on to our next adventure. Very nice sweet person and good worker. Thank you Nathaly for all your hard work and the fun conversations we had :) I hope you do well, and hope to meet you again in the future. The other lady (Not sure her name) but was also very nice, she made sure we had a nice breakfast in the morning of a egg with fresh coffee or tea, and a nice smoothie and bread with butter and jam, and she cleaned up after us gracefully, very much appreciated. Thank you so much for all your hard work :) The last person was the owner, A very nice young man, very caring and considerate, we chatted for a bit in some broken spanish and english it was nice. He also wanted to make sure we were well taken care of. Oh and he also made this fantastic Papya Smoothie! It was very delicous :P He was also working and cleaning and I love to see when the owner is also hands on and doing the work. Thank you for all the work you did and the small spanish lesson you gave me, and making sure your hostel was always kept so clean. And having such great people working for you :) Also the hostel was in a pretty safe spot in the City (MiraFlores) and always felt safe while inside the hostel, never felt in danger or felt that someone might try to steal my things. (I actually forgot both my water bottles twice :P and the staff kept them behind the counter nice safe and sound, again much appreciated :) I would definetly recommend this Hostel to anyone looking for a nice, safe place to stay for a couple days or weeks while in Lima, Miraflores. And that´s not to far away from some nice affordable restraunts/Bars. And about a 10min walk from a Great grocery store called "Vivanda. (So far my favorite grocery store in Peru). Thank you for taking the time to read my long review, overall a nice, safe, friendly spot to lay your head down after a nice long day of sightseeing. I hope you all have a wonderful time traveling around the world, seeing all the world has to offer, and looking to give a little back to where ever you go. Cheers, Hope you have a great day and Happy Travelling :) Saludos

At the beginning of a long trip I put down a deposit of one night to cover my reservation at 1900 for my last few nights in Lima. During weeks of travel my flight home was canceled and ended up leaving out of Bogota, Colombia instead of Lima. I reached out to 1900 weeks before my reservation dates and asked for a refund on my deposit. Initially, through a series of WhatsApp messages, I was told that I would receive a 75% refund through PayPal. I was told repeatedly to wait and I would see my payment but I never received the refund and communication was eventually cut off. They did not keep their word and that matters to me.
