The Shelter Group of Houseboats is only houseboats in valley knows how important the sense of security and safety is to all its guests. Hence, a special effort is made at all our houseboats to ensure that guest security and the houseboats security takes precedence over any other objective.The Lal Mandi Road is security patrolled by security guards and all emergency plans well in place. The houseboats is located in high security zone and shares the VIP road and political residence on another side of the shore, both well guarded by BSF.

Quiet & Peaceful Place to Stay
Reviewed By Escape18466766729I found Urban Den Hostel, though a little away from the main city, the perfect space to stay in Srinagar. I would venture out in the day for work or to see places, and return early in the evenings. Its a quiet place where you can gather your thoughts, work a bit or if nothing else, hangout with Ovais and the other travellers. It is a totally relaxed environment, and you can set your own pace. Ovais and Umar are absolutely perfect hosts. As a lone female traveller, I felt perfectly comfortable and safe. Anytime i'm in Srinagar, I would be staying at Urban Den.

The property is located on a 5 acre island, the only such island in Kashmir Valley, in world famous DAL Lake. Transportation to the island is by a shikara(boat)from the Ashai Bagh Bridge on the Nageen Lake in Srinagar. The shikara is comfortble with fox springs and accomodayes 4 person comfortably.It is a 15 minute beautiful shikara ride to the island. The location is a few minutes away from the beautiful campus of Kashmir University,from the Grand Mosque, called Hazratbal or Dargha, a shopping area for Kashmir Arts and Crafts. It takes half an hour to 45 minutes for a shikara ride to the famous Moghul Gardens like, Cheshmashahi, Nishat, Shalimar and Harwan.

Although the food did not taste too good, but the place is very clean and gives a beautiful scenic view... They have quite big garden for the kids to play.. Their own cows, garden, beautiful flowers.. .. Overall we had a nice stay at Samad's Island of Peace...

The Bungalow is very centrally located - barely a ten-minute walk away from the main shopping centre of Residency Road . We offer guests spacious, well-appointed rooms and a lovely garden complete with a hammock in which they can relax. There is also a small collection of books in the common sitting area which guests can browse through if they like.
Beautiful Home away from Home
Reviewed By SurferrrrrStayed here with my family for two days. Enjoyed myself very much... and recommend it to anyone traveling to Srinagar. The house is an old family home converted into a charming guesthouse... it's very centrally located with plenty of shops, a chemist and bakeries and restaurants located within walking distance of it. There's a nice lawn too... with a hammock that u can lie down in and just enjoy the day. Food served was also delicious. Service was very prompt and the two boys on their staff friendly and very courteous. Great value for money ! Definitely coming back here again next time I visit Kashmir !

The hotel doesn't need some improvement and repairs.the bedrooms are a little outdated and the washrooms do need to be repaired as the flow of water is very low. Regardless the hotel has high security and is still better than other hotels in the area. the Wi-Fi doesn't work in the bedrooms but works fairly well in the lobby.
