We didnt stop here but will be booking for next year but we did do activities of which this review is about. We were greeted enthusiastically by David and Elliott and the enthusiasm continued throught the activities booked. The axe throwing very well talked through and our 13 year old encouraged by David who was ace at his job. Very knowledgeable, fun and safety taken seriously. Rifle shooting again David and again enthusiasm on full throttle. So enjoyable another rifle shooting activity booked before we left. We also talked to Elliott and Steve who were more than helpful. The bar nice coffee and cake and not expensive. The whole area lovely lots of green space will definitely be visiting again. Thank you all

We stayed here with my husbands parents, for 4 nights, they had the downstairs room opposite the bathroom and we had the mezzanine. Although the kitchen is very small it served us well for our short visit. The owners are planning an upgrade. The living room was spacious with comfy sofas. Emma the host could not do enough for us, with a lovely welcome basket filled with goodies for breakfast. The garden was lovely to wander around with apples & figs to eat from the trees. Lovely and quiet spot. The Pub up the road is open Thurs/frid/sat/sun and serves food.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this peaceful relaxing glamping site. Clean comfortable accommodation and beautiful views. Friendly staff and dogs and horses. Hot tub was great which you keep warm with fire wood which is topped up regularly.. just be warned it does get hot very quick so dont light it too early. 20 minutes from bath city centre and a couple local pubs walking distance. Bed was very comfortable and facilities very clean with added little touches to make your stay enjoyable. Look forward to returning

Sandy Glade Holiday Park

The Sandy Glade Holiday Park is easy to reach, just fifteen minutes from the M5, yet puts you right on a great stretch of Somerset coast. You can enjoy the long, sandy beaches of both Berrow and Brean which are a short walk from the park. The beaches are famous for their sand dunes, which kids will love playing on, and you’ll find that Brean Sands is a perfect beach for sunbathing, playing in the sand or paddling into the water. This Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Park has plenty for you to do once you get here. Our adventure playground means that even when you’re not at the beach the kids won’t be bored, and our heated pool is great fun for the whole family. We also have a clubhouse with nightly entertainment and a cafe and takeaway to make your stay even easier.

We stayed in a silver package caravan. It was perfect and clean. The entertainment was brilliant for kids. The food was lovely from Chefs corner. All the staff (reception, bar and entertainment) were very friendly and helpful. There's lot to do near by as well such as Brean Leisure Park, Weston Super Mare. Would definitely return next year! Thank you Sandy Glades for a brilliant holiday!

Holiday Resort Unity

Holiday Resort Unity is situated approximately 200m from the five miles of sandy beaches at Brean. Also enjoy the facilities of Brean Leisure Park where there are rides and amusements galore to entertain the kids, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools with waterslides, the famous Kids Club and indoor and outdoor play areas. There's also a host of activities and great places to visit nearby for both children and grown-ups. And remember, if self catering to Mum means eating out, then give her a break from the cooking and treat her to the great, tasty food available at our many restaurants and snack bars! Dogs are welcome in touring and camping fields plus some of our own caravans to hire. Why not buy a static caravan holiday home and visit as often as you like! We have a selection of new and second hand used caravans for sale. Holiday Resort Unity incorporates the facilities of Unity Farm and Brean Leisure Park. We are a family run business that has been offering holidays in this beautiful part of the West Country for some 70 years, starting with three caravans in the corner of a field shared with 100 cows. The cows have now gone but our resort still enjoys fantastic views over open countryside and boasts more facilities than any other park in Britain making us one of the prime destinations for any UK family holiday. As a family business we understand our guest needs and our mission is to provide 'more than just a holiday' to all of our guests. Many of our guests choose to return frequently through the season and benefit from our loyalty card scheme. We hope that you choose our Resort and look forward to offering you a warm welcome when you visit.

Don’t waste your money

For the same price we paid we could have gone to much better places. £400 for 3 nights. The caravan we had was beautiful but unfortunately the doors don’t close enough so you are able to see straight through to the shower, toilets and bedrooms which isn’t ideal with teenagers. The bedding was full of hairs, there were even hairs in the drawers. No towels provided at all so you will have to bring your own, no washing up liquid or tea towels either so bring those too and the WiFi would not work as much as we tried. We were kept awake until 2am with holiday makers making so much noise. You have to pay £5 minimum to get into the theme park before you have even got on any rides, swimming has to be booked- which we did but our booking seems to be lost so we couldn’t swim. The place was absolutely cramped, no one could get past eachother in the entertainment with tables so close to one another it was frustrating. Entertainment was so rude for the younger children aswell. I complained to the reception and they didn’t attempt to resolve anything, just apologised so we left not even 24 hours later. I’d spend my money elsewhere honestly

NOT GLAMPING - MORE LIKE RUSTIC

Reviewed By Lee-Ann M

My Husband booked a romantic getaway for our 20th wedding anniversary for my wife as a surprise. The Site advertising as 'Glamping' on the 'Hill'. On arrival we were unaware that we had to park our car at the bottom of the hill and walk up to your accommodation with your luggage/food/wood etc. We did find a little cart and made use of it to lug all our belongings up. They do also say that they are available to assist with this transport but they are nowhere to be found. Sadly we were not on the hill but half way up, with the hill and the other yurt accommodation, as our view. A suggestion to the owners is perhaps to advertise more clearly exactly what you are getting then your expectation won't be a bad one. Our little hut, called Pippin, was more like an old fashion hut that would have been pulled but ox's back in the day. The grounds are covered in hard small rocks so you must wear shoes at all times. and the site is most certainly not GLAMPING - more like rustic! On arrival it is self-check in, which is fine, if the instructions on the brown envelope are followed and adhered to by the owners. It says to call before 6pm to get fire wood for the firepit. When you attempt to call the owners they do not answer the phone or email. You can also try and hunt for them in the hotel but good luck with that. When I did find Peta she was greeted with: 'I was having a siesta', and a rude way to greet a new guest. I was simply told to read the envelope for details. Well the envelope tells you that you should call them before 6pm and wood will be delivered. They are also very specific with what wood is meant for what fire. The inside firewood is most certainly not supposed to get used on the fire pit nor is it for the hot tub fire. AND this extra wood was quickly scooped up by the Peta and whisked away to safety. The accommodation is not glamorous at all and is quite basic. The bedding is hotel standard but the mattress is disgusting and one can not get a good night's sleep at all. You feel the springs and the wooden planks on the makeshift bed. The mattress doesn't stay in place on the wooden slates and the person sleeping on the right feels like you are falling off the bed throughout the night. This mattress is certainly not Glamping! The Kitchen is sadly missing a microwave and a few more bowls for cooking and preparing things like salads etc. The fridge is way too small for a weekend away and has no freezer section. The fridge is about 30cm in height! There is very little packing space for your groceries and extra shelving is a big suggestion. We felt very cramped inside. There are also not enough plug point sockets. Fortunately we brought our own extension lead. You will also need to bring your own outside light if you intend to braai/bbq at night as an outside light is not thought of. There are solar fairy lights which are great atheistically but not practical. We like to sit outside and play cards with a glass of vino - but had to use our mobile phone light and a small torch to see the cards. Sadly we too experienced the no hot water situation, and when we asked for help, Peta told us ...less is more! Apparently if you turn the hot water tap on and let the water just trickle out (less is more) you actually get some hot water. Peta let us use another room to take a shower on Saturday, but walking around in your dressing gown in public is not something we are comfortable with. Hence we made a quick duck on Sunday morning and didn't bother to use our own tiny shower. The Bathroom itself is minute and the mirror provided has not been thought out as my wife could not put makeup on without having to jam a piece of paper in the concertina style mirror to prevent it from moving and then bend down to get a glimpse of her face. Note to self bring my own free standing mirror. The Hot Tub however was wonderful. It does take over 4 hours to heat up so for those of you wanting to get into it when you arrive, at check in time, good luck as it will be ice cold. It would really be a nicer touch if the owner lit the hot tub fire prior to you arriving so that when you arrived it was ready to go. The next day it also took two and a half hours before we could use it. It is also in no way private as it is on the pathway leading up to all the other accommodation and down the pathway to the hotel. There is also absolutely no mobile signal or WIFI options. Yes I know we are going away but some of us still need to feel connected. We wanted to explore the area and really struggled to get an internet signal to find out places of interest. The husband was very helpful and we loved his suggestions of going into Bradford on Avon for lunch. Once you get to chat with both husband and wife, they are very friendly indeed, but it's hard to get hold of them when you really need them. Although we had a lovely time and made the most of it, sadly this is just not Glamping and therefore should not be advertised as such. I would however like to end on a positive note: the strawberries dipped in chocolate and the bottle of bubbly went down very well. Hubby got brownie points! Some positives: If you are looking for a remote, rustic, Farm style, back to basics, kind of holiday, then this is definitely for you. We didn't make use of the hotel for food or drinks - but in hindsight, based on the kitchen facilities available in our hut, perhaps this is why they have this facility. It is very picturesque, and tranquil at night. The hot tub is fantastic and very comfortable - place for your drinks and has a light inside the tub which you can switch off when you want to take a look at all the stars. We visited a few castles close by, and had the opportunity to drive around and site see. Bath is only 30 minutes away. The chickens are very friendly and come right up to your hut. I highly recommend driving to Bradford on Avon and having lunch on the river.

Bucklegrove Holiday Park

Great site with many amenities!

Reviewed By Debbie W

Whilst we only stayed at Bucklegrove for one night in our Campervan, it is a lovely site with a surprising number of facilities for a smaller site. It got off to a good start with an email giving us the details of our pitch so we didn’t have to queue at reception. It was nice to be able to drive straight in and pitch up. The site itself is very clean, tidy and dog friendly. The top set of toilets/shower block could do with some updating but nevertheless it was adequate. We didn’t make use of the swimming pool but a great plus for the site to have. We enjoyed a drink from the bar and staff were very friendly. There was a good sized children’s play area by the restaurant. All round a lovely site!
