Reviewed By Bhargava HStayed in this hotel from Jan 1st to Jan 2nd. It is in center of the city, easy commute to all places. Rooms were bit conjust and its clean and good. Complementary food was good. When we checked in to the hotel it was 9.30am. But that day breakfast was not tasty But the second day breakfast was very good. In house resturant is there, we can order from room itself and can have the food. It was also nice.

Neat and clean place with really soft spoken and good staff
Reviewed By NishantArora192I had booked Deluxe room for one night(without breakfast). We were welcomed by very soft spoken Akram. Immediately after check-in in the evening, I found out an issue in the room which was immediately acknowledged and our room was upgraded to terrace room as gesture of compensation. Unfortunately, we noticed the same issue again in Terrace room and informed them the same. They again immediately acted upon it and fixed the issue till we came back from dinner. Also they promised me free breakfast as a gesture of compensation again from their side. I also got a call from the owner for an apology. I could actually see the worry on their faces for their guests. The reason that I haven't highlighted the issue details here- such issues can happen in any normal home and Kanchan's nest is also a homestay. It was just a bad day for us and them. I really appreciate how they acted upon it and how they treated us after they acknowledged the issue. I have no reason to deduct even a single star from my review. This place is neat and clean and best part is that its located in the street just opposite to airport entry. They have really simple, tasy and healthy breakfast. Wifi also works fine. Would definitely stay here again if I will plan my next trip to andamans.

The Shelter is not a hotel but a home, little home next to the sea not more than 12 feet. Long jumpers, be aware :) Just 10 minutes drive from airport. The famous Jail, Water Sports Complex are at walkable distance from us. One can enjoy the open balcony which looks over the North Bay Island, Ross Island and the mountains of Mount Harriet. Your Shelter too has a terrace which adds to your romance with nature. The Shelter is other side of the hill on which Cellular Jail is present. We take care of our guest with utmost respect and dignity. We also provide the services of Flower Bed Decoration, Honeymoon Cake and Candle Lit Dinner.
Worst people, not refunding even when cancellation was due to weather conditions.
Reviewed By pranavkarnik05I booked it via MMT(when it comes to support, they are useless too) My flight to Port Blair got cancelled 14hrs prior to checkin time of this hotel. I requested refund via MMT by attaching proofs of flight cancellation msg. They again asked me the same and I shared via mail. Then they said that hotelier denied the refund. After calling Roy(The Shelter) for 15 days, finally he picked up and said there is policy that they don’t refund in any case (it was not mentioned on MMT) & shamelessly refused refund. It was condition out of anyones control. Just by saying it’s our policy, they are refusing refund. How can you even refuse refund when the it’s due to weather condition that too when flight is cancelled. Nothing more than CHOR. If you book here, God Bless Your hard earned money.

Their is just one guy who is managing the whole operations of this hotel, and he is doing a really good job at it. He is really helpful and would go out of his way to make your stay comfortable and fun. Kudos to him for all the helps and guidance that he provided to us. The wifi reception is not good at all and you would hardly be able to load anything. It is a bit far from market area, so make sure you have enough essentials with you. TIP: Try to get a room on top floor for better view.

We felt like visiting family members! The room with terrace was beautiful! We got a very delicious breakfast there with an amazing view. Unfortunately we booked a wrong flight ticket to leave Port Blair, so our last morning turned into a panic goodbye without breakfast. Again, SORRY! And thank you so much for organizing a cab in seconds for us, and you even payed for it! Thank you so much! Best address to stay in Port Blair!

There is a good restaurant in the hotel and you can find every kind of Traditional foods. The staff was very friendly and attended to out requests very promptly. The prices are also quite reasonable and you get nice discounts. Transport arrangement, very good with good service

Good homestay
Reviewed By GaganShindeSunnyvale is not a hotel, but a homestay - so set your expectations accordingly. Mr Nasir - the host - is a friendly and helpful person. Before our visit, we reached out to him to clarify our Andaman travel queries (which were not answered on the Internet) and he clarified them patiently. Rooms - Sunnyvale is a multistorey bungalow with a few individual rooms located on the second floor. The rooms are spacious, clean and well maintained. All the basic needs like water, geyser, AC and most importantly WiFi - are taken care of. They even have a common kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, induction and water purifier. So people with kids would find these facilities beneficial as compared to other commercial hotels. Location - The property is 10-15 mins walk from Aberdeen bazaar where you would find good restaurants and shops. There are a couple of restaurants that deliver food to the property as well. Overall, I would recommend Sunnyvale homestay as it covers your basics very well and in budget.
