Reviewed By 669babettevReally lovely apartment along the canals. Perfect location. Apartments are well equipped, well maintained, nicely furnished and the reception areas are pretty. In fact the apartments really do have everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised. This makes for a longer stay but also is a good option for a night or weekend break as the apartment actually has good basics such as coffee/ tea/ water/wine/ oil/ salt/ sugar etc available on hand or to buy at a reasonable price which makes for stress free travels especially for a short stay. There are many super restaurants close by, its easy walking to all the main shopping areas and attractions and the area was safe at night. Parking is available fairly close to the hotel. There is a lift/ elevator. An added bonus was the incredibly good service provided from booking - arrival - departure. They are an excellent team and it was efficient, friendly and personal throughout, including recommendations on what to do in the area and ideas on where to eat and all the ideas proved well chosen. As a result we experienced a more "local" Livorno and had a great city stay. All in all we were very happy with our choice and would return.

We booked several treatments and we were all more than happy with both the massages and the facial treatments. The castle have beautiful interior and exterior and the surrounding is fantastic. All our breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the restaurant during our stay were great, really delicious food and great vine from Monte Solaio. All the staff from cleaners to reception to restaurant are very friendly and give you the best service! We do highly recommend this resort and we will surely come back again!

Reviewed By georgiae449Gorgeous and very well run hotel on the beach. Yes, it is expensive but you get what you pay for. Excellent service and staff, lovely rooms. I can only highly recommend this hotel. The only thing lacking is perhaps a tea towel in the room as there is a small kitchenette. And... for the price of the room, they could offer the coffee capsules. That is a bit over the top in our opinion. Carmine at the small beach bar, makes a killer Spritz!

The room was very clean and offers the basics - shower (could be bigger), TV, aircondition, a comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast to start the day with. The breakfast is served, where at night La Rosa is open and runs a busy restaurant with delicious food, friendly service and when it’s your hotel, a warm home to come back to with an amazing kitchen. Giada, who runs the place and the restaurant, welcomed me when I was still in London, trying to figure out how I would reach San Piero by public transport. San Piero is a beautifully authentic and quiet village from where one can enjoy the beautiful view of marina di campo. I was able to venture out and enjoy a selection of beaches every morning for day trips, and it was a delight to come back to the peace of the village from the crowded beaches. La Rosa is a gem of Elba. Giada brings much character and warmth to the place and makes sure you feel safe and at home with ease and sincere generosity, yet in good and sensitive measures. I can be quite fussy with places, and I would easily give La Rosa an amazing score for all that it offers and how it does it! I loved it, and I know where to go when I am back in Elba. Thank you so much to Giadda and the team. What a special stay!

Sometimes a next time or times are disappointing but no less was true. Again we enjoyed a delicious dinner of which quality and taste were excellent and all courses decorated on a surprising artistic level. Good wine too with lots of nice wines to be chosen. The amuses were fantastic. Inspired by that dinner we came back for a lunch two weeks later. The same experience we had with that lunch that could in my eyes stand for a Michelin star. Not to forget the very friendly staff which further helped to make the staying in Locanda Garzelli a very pleasant one. Next time we come back for sure.

Reviewed By TheBerliner1175I’ve been here many, many years ago and always remembered this place with its beautiful view in a valley of olive trees as one of the best holiday destinations to relax. This time we were very spontaneous in regards to Elba and where lucky we got a room at hotel Santo Stefano last minute. Again, it was a very pleasant occasion. The owners, their daughter, the staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast on the terrace with its stunning view over to the capital is wonderful - fresh fruits, cheeses, all you wish for. The three course dinner is fantastic - you can enjoy the sunset over the main harbor, overlooking the bay. The rooms are very clean and regularly renovated if not renewed. All perfect. We also had the chance to get some laundry done and to store wine and oil that we bought on the way or on Elba itself. I can absolutely recommend this place for its beauty, quietness, food, rooms, views, friendliness and its overall quality. You will not be disappointed! Always again. Thanks again to the wonderful owners!

Reviewed By aleksander sBelmare hotel has great location overlooking the harbor of Porto Azzurro. Typical Italian 3-star hotel, small room but you have everything you need. The rooms with balconies have great view to the harbor and city, you can also enjoy a beautiful sunset from the balcony. The hotel is 5 minutes’ walk from the city center with restaurants and shopping. Breakfast is good, cappuccino is excellent. Staff is very kind and helpful. There is no parking at hotel (you can just unload the luggage), you need to use public parking in the city.
