Great location and cosy BnB

I stayed here when attending a graduation ceremony in Oxford. The room we had was small but it was very clean. My only comment on the clenliness would be that the shower rail looks dirty when you are inside the shower- perhaps they haven't noticed that when cleaning it. The bedding was lovely and the room had all the amenities I would expect. There was more than enough space for parking which was important for us so all of our expectatiosn were met and exceeded. Thank you!

A five star rip off

A “suite” with one room. Stains on walls and mirrors. Worn out fittings in bathroom. Key cards that didn’t work. Tea making facilities but no tea. A request for photo ID not required by law but by alleged “security” policy. All this for £359 a night. Quite simply a rip off.

We spent one night in this delightful guest house. We were very impressed with the accommodation. The room was perfect, clean and beautifully presented. Everything we needed was there. The breakfast was individually cooked and well presented by attentive staff. On site parking was good. It was very good location for visiting Oxford. There were plenty of local places to eat in the evening. We would definitely recommend this place and return should we be back in Oxford.

Day in Oxford

What a fantastic b&b this is,my room was spacious and spotlessly clean, managed to book the wrong day(we’ve all done it) but they kindly allowed me to stay even though I had booked in for the previous night, excellent continental buffet breakfast and plenty of tea and coffee in my room and a large flat screen Tv, shower and bathroom was brilliant. Will definitely book this place on my return to Oxford.

The Bear and Ragged Staff

The Bear & Ragged Staff in Cumnor is a world away from the Newbury & Swindon roads that stream past only a mile from its door. The heart of the pub is a glorious Tudor beauty. Ancient fireplaces, flagstone floors and mullioned windows with carved lintels, make the bar one of the finest anywhere. A comfortable eatery, conservatory and South-facing terrace provide spaces for every mood – and winding stairs lead to cosy bedrooms with old oak doorways & beamed ceilings.

Lovely place. Lovely staff. Full English portion size disappointing.

Really lovely staff and very nice place. Sadly they scrimped on the Full English Breakfast. For the sake of possibly 10p, 20p maximum the portion of baked beans was minuscule and one flat mushroom. Portion size not impressive at all. The Luxury Hot Chocolate is a misnomer. Not hot at all. Bless them, they did make it again and tried to make it hotter but just not hot. Luke warm at best. Otherwise, lovely staff and pleasant venue.

Great choice.

Ideal place to stay in the heart of Oxford. Very clean and"quaint " couple of rooms. We just stayed for the one night in two rooms , one with an en-suite, but would have been more than happy to stay longer. This is a beautiful building but the low ceilings and narrow stairs might be a problem for some people. The listing on TripAdvisor is a bit misleading as no breakfast is included (we were made aware of this when booking) Would definitely recommend. (Unless your a bit tall and clumsy!!)
