Reviewed By ShepLapstoneThoroughly enjoyed my stay at Pension Monika, location is absolutely quiet and beautiful. Monika will pick you up from nearby Merano station if you arrive by train. My single room was so very nicely decorated, bright and comfortable, with a very good bathroom. The breakfast room faces the beautiful landscapes of Lagundo. Breakfast is ample with plenty of variety. The family very friendly and genuine and assisted me in so many ways whilst I was there. Always there are cakes and fruit in the foyer you may take to your room for a snack any time of day. The surrounding lanes will take you through vineyards and fruit orchards, and so many views to the valleys and hills. You will be given a card to use free on the buses and trains in the area and a free minibus operates regularly from Lagundo to Merano city. Such a lovely area and very comfortable accommodation.

You feel at ease as soon as you step inside the Schlosswirt Forst. The ambience in this Bed & Breakfast still exudes the romanticism of a bygone era. It is everywhere: in the wood-paneled stube, in the fine decorative fabrics, adorned terracotta floors, old paintings, the stoves and so on. Tradition is evident in every detail. There are four tastefully styled rooms at the Schlosswirt Forst where one can take some valuable time off to reflect and relax in tranquillity, each with its own story and atmosphere. Each room is individually designed with wooden flooring, hand-embroidered linen curtains, and marble tiles from Carrara.

Reviewed By KIMJ808This place is exceptional in every way. The staff are professional yet warm, welcoming & friendly which is a rare combination. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or accomodating. Special mention for Daniel for his efforts in customer service. The room was spotlessly clean & very thoughtfully supplied with little extra's which add to the experience & gives the feeling of the owners really valuing their customers & the quality of their stay. The breakfast is al la carte which allows you to select as much or as little as you like. The dining rooms are meticulously maintained & the food is all prepared fresh & is delicious. We dined in for dinner & again the service was exceptional as was the food & wine. We were made to feel very comfortable & if you are looking to stay in Merano or surrounding area you should definitely stay here it is really special & we will always look back fondly on our stay here. We certainly would like to return one day & highly recommend to everyone

Reviewed By Steve BI had previously stayed north of Merano Meran on a previous motorcycle trip but couldn't find any rooms near where I had stayed before. Disappointed, I expanded my search and came across Maratscher Hotel. The only reason I picked it was because there were rooms available and after 3 months of looking, I booked it. Upon arriving in Merano Meran, my GPS routed me towards Lagundo. The route was incredible and routed us through and around numerous vineyards. Upon pulling into the motel, Doris greeted us with a very warm welcome in the parking lot. When we went inside, we didn't even have to check in. She offered us cold water and beer so we could relax. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with amazing views in ever direction. The next morning, she served up a fantastic breakfast with fresh cheese and meats, breads, fruits some of which were from her garden, and much more. Unfortunately we had only planned on staying one night but we liked it there so much we rerouted our trip and came back a few days later and stayed two more nights to relax and explore the area of Lagundo. I highly recommend staying here if you get a chance.

Back in paradise unchanged
Reviewed By leslie cWe are an elderly couple and fell in love with Ansitz Pünthof last year. The owners, the Wolf family, do their utmost to make their guests feel at home. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is superb, full of homemade goodies. The grounds are beautifully tended, with flowers everywhere. And it's very quiet throughout. The swimming pool is large and was a bit cool in May but we quickly acclimatized. Down the road is a good restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. Hopefully we'll be well enough to enjoy this marvellous retreat next year again.

Reviewed By AnnTony123The hotel exceed our expectations. Lovely spacious room with a good view. The Food was really good . The hotel staff were really kind and went out of their way to help. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace . You can hike straight from the hotel along some really interesting paths. The hotel is impeccably clean. Our only disappointment was that we hadn’t booked for longer. We hope to go back! Just to say as well with the current Covid situation we always felt safe in the hotel. Staff wear masks as do guests in public areas and everyone was willing to follow rules
