A true experience of warm Sicilian hospitality

Reviewed By andreatorti_1984

A stay at Antico Palmento is a true experience of warm Sicilian hospitality. Nicola is a nice and thoughtful host, he was always happy to give us good advice and recommendations that contributed to making our trip to Lipari truly unforgettable. The property is centrally located in the village of Canneto, which is well connected to the town of Lipari by a regular shuttle service. Restaurants, bars, bakeries, beaches, tours providers and anything else you could possibly need is within short walking distance. Our room was clean and the breakfast was always rich and varied. Nicola and his B&B deserve our best recommendation.

Relaxed stay

This B&B is about a 15 minute walk from the ferry but right next door to the old port. Room was large, clean and tidy. It is very quiet. The host could not be more friendly or helpful. My only gripe - the shower is very small!

Beautiful place to stay

Reviewed By ellafrombtown

The La Locanda del Postino hotel is a true gem in Pollara, a remote and extremely beautiful part of Salina and Sicily. Our 4 night stay was so relaxing. It’s a very quiet place except the constant sound of birds chirping at each other and, in the evening, the happy chatting of people congregating in the little garden to enjoy a cocktail and the perfect sunset (some of the best we’ve ever seen, and Pollara is the only spot on the island you can see it). The restaurant is very nice, the dishes and ingredients are all local and presented beautifully. We ate here twice during our stay, and enjoyed stuffed anchovies, swordfish, red tuna, and scorpion fish; plus tiramisu and pistachio pannacota, among other dishes and beautiful wine. Make sure you also try Francesco’s special Aperol Spritz (with a Malvasia twist) and homemade limoncello. In the evenings, we made a new habit of enjoying some Malvasia wine on our balcony and playing cards while watching the stars. Our room was very comfortable and airy, with a little tv and fridge, and a window with a lovely sea view. In the mornings, we had traditional Sicilian breakfasts: homemade cakes, biscuits, croissants, fruit, and good coffee. Overall, Francesco and his family have created a wonderful little spot in the world where you can come to relax, enjoy nature and good food. Perfect for any creatives looking for inspiration. They really care about their island and their guests and this makes for a memorable stay, or dinner - whichever you treat yourself to!

Beautiful boutique B&B

Reviewed By GoncaStyle

We received this recommendation from the rental office and where so very much surprised by the beautiful simplicity and clean decor of this place! Everything is kept in a crispy white and grey decor and the bed was very comfortable! The location is just a few steps to town and don’t miss the pizza place at the end of the street! Anna was a lovely host and her home made cake for breakfast was incredible!!! Definitely one of the best places to stay on the island! We got lucky!!!

I stayed there for 5 days on a fishing trip. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The place itself is beautifully decorated and the owners prepare the best couscous. If you like fishing, Mr Ciriaco (the owner), will take you out for some fine fishing. He can also tell you of the best restaurants in town and where to rent a boat, scooter and anything else you may need. Had a great stay and will definitely go back. Great place for both family and couples.

disappointed!

Reviewed By Cecile C

The room/studio has a correct size but seems unfinished. Some plugs are missing in the room and there is holes instead. (looks still under construction). The size of the "pool" is really small. You cannot swim in it. The quality of the breakfast is poor. Guests smoke in the terrace, and around the pool area where you can have your breakfast and this is very annoying for non smoking guests. towels are not changed every day in the room so you stay with your wet towels for 2 days. We decided to cancel a 2nd reservation we had and didn't get any refund (even partial). Overall it was a very disappointing experience.

Exploring Volcano

Reviewed By ExploringEarth66

The staff were excellent, from the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The guesthouse was located only a few minutes from the port and we left our luggage there whilst we walked up the volcano. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. There was air conditioning and a fan so plenty to keep cool and no nasty smells. ( We may have been lucky with wind direction but I think we were far enough away from the sulphurous mud to avoid the pungent smell) We stayed two nights and hired a scooter to explore the island and swim at various locations.

Wish we had stayed here longer

Reviewed By Paul P

Spent one night at Villa Crimi as we decided to extend our stay on Vulcano. It was superb and we wished we had stayed there the whole time! Breakfast was served on our porch and the owner was super helpful and gave us a ride to the ferry dock the morning we left. Rooms were cozy clean and modern. It is about a 5-10 minute walk into town but it was nice to be in the peace and quiet of the forest.
