Hotel Mayura Vijayanagara TB Dam

The Tungabhadra Dam, located close to Hospet, is as much a tourist attraction as the World Heritage Site of Hampi. The dam across the Tungabhadra River creates a huge lake that stretches as far as the eye can see. A beautiful garden has been laid adjacent to the dam. Karnataka Hotels Vijayanagara, located beside the dam, offers a serene, green environment while being conveniently close to Hampi.

Stay and Mayura TB Dam

Reviewed By MAHESHASHI

We visited TB Dam and Hampi with my family and stayed at Mayura TB Dam. The staff is courteous and friendly. The places are accessible to hotels, some restaurants, and Khanavali are nearby. The medical facility is accessible and places to buy fruits and basic things are easily reachable. The hotel has clean rooms, and building though old has its own charm. It's a no-frills hotel, no water bottle, no shampoo and kettle, iron in the room. Hot water does not work and no in-room water heater exists. TV did not work all days and no WIFI in the room. Ample parking space and good garden. TB dam is a stone throw away and Hampi is 12 KM. Had an excellent visit.

Rocky Guesthouse

Hi, my name is Rocky and i look after the Rocky guesthouse, Hampi which is situated next to Hampi bazar and a 50mtr away from tungabhadra river. We got a well furnished and clean rooms that are situated in the 1st floor, with a nice temple view from the roof top and also the river view. It's good place to do yoga in the roof terrace with a beautiful sunrise. Also you can use a free wifi service.

Great stay!

Rocky was super friendly and available, as was his assistant (we didn't catch his name as he didn't speak much English). We were able to book tours, onward travel and Rocky even helped us actually book an overnight bus back to Bangalore since foreigners can't use foreign cards to book things in India on Indian websites. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable, and right in Hampi Bazaar. Would highly recommend!

Great homestay! Super comfortable and really clean. The location is amazing- right in the centre of the town and a short walk from the temples/ruins. The owner Kish is friendly and extremely helpful, he found and booked us train tickets to our next destination (though the tuk tuk he booked to take us to the train station never turned up so be wary of that!). Overall would definitely recommend!!

Mango Tree Homestay

A wonderful base for exploring the ancient city of Hampi

Reviewed By AmithSP

Run by the same family who owns Hampi's famous Mango Tree restaurant .Though located slightly off the ruins, on one end of Kamalapur town, it hardly takes 15-20 minutes by auto to all the major attractions. In fact, we found the location to be ideal to crash after a long day of exploring the ruins. Our auto driver Mr. Mustafa recommended by the homestay was really good and stayed with us throughout the trip. Complimentary breakfast was freshly prepared local homemade fare every time, which is served either in your room or in the open terrace on our preference. Also the owner and staffs were really polite in accommodating all our special requests for my 4 year old son. You also have the option to order food for dinner from their restaurant located near the Virupaksha temple. Definitely a good hassle free option to consider for your Hampi trip.Though I am not aware of the quality of other local homestays, this was one of the most expensive homestays available online at the time of booking.

Its obvious they want you to really enjoy your time in their town. The Manasa only have 2 ground floor rooms so book ahead. Nice and clean , simple but everything you need. Good comfy beds also. The Manasa is run by the Mango Cafe which is THE place to eat in Hampi Bazar. Its really well located and we feel better than being on the island. Some good cafes over there though so make sure you go over.

Do NOT STAY THERE!!!!

Reviewed By Jimmy2422

We stayed there with my boyfriend. The worst experience in India we had... We have not met such a rude people before. First, when we were walking and looking for a room, they said: hot water, wi fi, etc. We decided to stay there then. After 2 minutes, they came to our room, saying: PAY NOW. For wi fi - we had to always ask. After few hours, when we asked for hot water, we heard ' for this price, no hot water '. We were very shocked, stayed in lots of homestays before but never experienced that rudeness. Every time we left the room, it was not possible to charge the powerbank as they kept turning the power off. Very loud kid always crying so if you want something quiet, this is another reaaon not to stay there. When we checked out, we walked away, and in front of us, they turn tank with hot water . Would not recommened at all, so many friendly people around, you will get something better for sure (it is not neccessery to book, walk around and find something).

Awesome home stay, run by lovely folks.

Nice rooms with AC and high speed internet. Bathrooms were neat and clean comparable to what you get in reputed chains. Location is good, It is 3 kms away from central Hampi. There is a terrace with great view , where one can do morning stretching and Yoga. Icing on the cake was food available in homestay. Pure home made sattvic food made with love. For most of the meals we invited ourselves in to ours guests home and ate finger licking South Indian fare sitting cross legged. Do ask for Dosai and Appams in breakfast. We even asked for Bisibelle bath to be made for supper one day, it was one of the best I had tasted. Total value for money, I had initially booked it as I planned to travel alone but my family tagged along at last moment. Whenever I am travelling with my wife and little son, I try booking one of the premier chains. But I did not regret this one bit.

Mr Ravi and his wonderful family run this guesthouse. It is a family run establishment. Wonderful and friendly people. Ravi arranged for a guided tour to various temples and places of interest in Hampi. We used Mr Latif, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend this guesthouse to first time visitors and even returning visitors to Hampi! Ravi and his family provide excellent, friendly service. NOTHING was too much trouble for them to arrange. The food was very tasty and inexpensive. Dhanyavaad and take care, Myles and Mandy.
