Reviewed By OscarL766I spent the weekend in this wonderful Pousada while visiting the Lencois Maranhenses National Park. Everything about the Pousada is great, the attention of the staff was spectacular, the ladies in the front desk always willing to help with a smile in the face. Breakfast was awesome and the rooms were excellent, very quiet, perfect for reading, relax, and just simply disconnect from the hustle of the city. For those that need to stay somewhat connected, the internet is perfect to reply to all emails and make internet calls. Finally, it's very inexpensive, if you are on the budget, like me, Pousada Vasto Horizonte won't disappoint you. Overall, Pousada Vasto Horizonte is excellent, 5 star is not enough.

The stay in this pousada had been Ok accordingly to the need you have during trip like this. I mean you don't need luxury option, but space, good breakfast and a good rest. Walking distance from the town to get a good restaurant. Easy pickUp and dropOff, for any transfer you need to go visiting the area around. Following the rule above, me, my family and friends (a group of nine), all of us had been satisfied by this place. It's a good option to stay here.

I can be a little bit far from river where the main restaurants are placed, all the tours picked me at the hotel and they recommended me a very friendly and driver to take me for dinner. I miss that place....

Reviewed By Odyssey243091We spent three nights at the pousada. The rooms are small but neat, they have a double bed, air conditioning, refrigerator and a bathroom with hot water. The location of the Pousada directly on the Rio Preguiça is very nice! The pousada also offers canoes with which you can make your own tours on the river. From the pousada you walk about 10 to 15 minutes to Avenida Beira Rio where most of the restaurants are. Barreirinhas is definitely not a high class area, but it seems very quiet and friendly and we didn't felt uncomfortable there. The breakfast was good. There were fresh fruit and bread, as well as scrambled eggs and tapioca with different fillings. Especially to mention is the staff. This was very friendly and helpful and very helpful in organizing the tours in the national park but also with all other questions! Saudações da Alemanha, especialmente ao Ricardo, que foi muito agradável !

We used this as a base for going to Atins and they kindly stored our bags and arranged transport. Thank you very much for your help!

Reviewed By Claudia CVery nice small resort located at the river Preguiças. Each room is a chalet, nicely decorated with local crafts and comfort for a family of 3-4. Inside the Pousada is tidy, clean and with nice gardens that leads to a small pool. The breakfast area is typically decorated and rich with several options of fruits, breads, cakes, local culinary and fresh juices, as most locations in Brazil. Positive impressions. And most important: no mosquitos bites during sleep!. If you plan to come, bring lots of anti-moskito spray. Only negative remark: the restaurant is quite far-300 m walk from out chalet. In the dark can be quite an adventure but they have own shuttle service. Food is great and richly served. You can order one dish for 2 and you still have left overs. Barreirinhas is the portal to several trips in Lençóis.

Reviewed By Typh00n202We stopped there for 2 nights. The room is comfortable, the garden by the river is beautiful and the staff very helpful. The reception organized a flight over the lencois for me when I arrived. Breakfast is good but not many choice. Covid measures are strictly respected and the guest must be attended by the staff. Unfortunately there is a construction site just next to this pousada so noisy from 7am.

Quaint comfortable hotel
Reviewed By Brie JA friend and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable with air con. Very clean. Warm shower. Nelson, the manager is fantastic and goes out of his way to help. Little English, but happy to use google translate. Simple but nice breakfast. Nelson helps to book any tour you might might to stay. Highly recommend.

Has potential, but has to improve
Reviewed By Vacation28783391336Charme has great potential. When you enter the first impression is amazing. The garden and colors are incredibly lively. You get a water bowl with cute flowers to wash your feet and fresh fruits to eat. On arrival they gave us a chalet that smelled like sewage, they already said it would and it did smell so bad that we went ask if there was not another chalet or room available. Turned out it was available, they just gave away the smelly chalet first, which doesn't sound like hospitality to me. With breakfast they already prepare a table for you with breads and a plate of fruit. It took us a while to figure out that they also serve juice, granola, honey, egg, tapioca and couscous for breakfast. Maybe even more, each day was a bit of a surprise. It was not so clearly told. The food tasted good. The cakes with the coffee were my favorite. The rooms are perfect. New. AC to cool you down and even a fan. Neat toilet, tv like you are at home and a great bed. The property has a shop, offers drinks (although I had the worst caipirinha in my life there), has a mini gym with weights to exercise (which I loved to do!) and you can always get a quad ride to anywhere you want. We didn't sleep so good, because people were drinking, having a party in the pool and screaming until after midnight. The chalets are build to ventilate and you hear everything. Not sure the staff did anything about it. In the morning the place is surrounded by animals that make a lot of noise (and smell). Concluding: we had a good time here, but we hoped it would be a little bit nicer because the place has all the potential to be. We went away to a more quiet and spacious pousada. Curious: nobody from the staff looks happy working, we also went to the beach club and there people working looks a bit happier.
