Friendly, clean, welcoming B&B …

We got a warm welcome and quick check-in. Our room was small but perfectly clean with all the bits you need. It had lovely rural views. Wifi worked well, as did the shower. You select your breakfast the night before and it’s ready for you when you want it in the morning. Pipping hot and fresh. Nothings too much trouble for the friendly hosts. They make sure you and comfortable and provide any other local info you need, without being intrusive. Prices are very reasonable and I’d re recommend this B&B over any of the more expensive, corporate places in Holyhead. Book direct with them for the best rates.

Wonderful night's sleep!

I came up to Anglesey from London in order to see the South Stack Lighthouse before making my way over to Ireland. The weather was incredible, and my stay at Witchingham was as well. Very comfortable and had a great night's sleep! Additionally, I was fortunate enough to get an incredible cabbie. Very fair priced, friendly, and dependable. I got his number after he dropped me off at Witchingham and called him up several times while there. When he said I'll be there at a certain time, he was there at that moment on the dot! Very reliable and would love to give him a shout out as well, if possible. Unfortunately, I forgot his name but his number is 07561 156 287

Warning re Hotel cancelling a booking at very short notice

Reviewed By peterf416

Be aware that at this hotel if you have booked a number of visits and been given an agreed discount for multiple bookings they may well not be honoured by the hotel. I agreed a price for a visit on June the 3rd to 5th however after, thankfully, sending an email to confirm the booking and price on Thursday 26th I received a reply at 11.15pm Saturday informing me that my booking (originally made in February) could not be accepted at the agreed discounted price and the booking was cancelled. This meant that, as we were unable to find alternative accommodation in the area at such short notice, I had to cancel a number of restaurant bookings and trips. Not really professional we could have turned up on the 3rd after a 128 mile drive to find out we did not have a room. Definitely will not visit again!

ABSOLUTELY 100% PERFECT IN ALL RESPECTS

No score could do justice to just how wonderful our stay at Lon y Traet was. It’s an absolute little gem. Annie and Gerry are the most generous and attentive hosts, without being obtrusive. Nothing was too much trouble and they’d thought of just about everything we could ever want to make for a perfect stay. The location is very pretty and peaceful and there’s a huge beach approx 1 mile walk from the house. Our en-suite double room was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. There were lots of little luxuries like Lindt truffle pillow chocolates and little daily treats on the tea tray every day. We’ve never experienced such a generous tea tray. As well as a large range of tea bags, there was also concentrated squash sachets and a coffee machine with a large selection of coffee and chocolate pods that were fully stocked every day. Fresh milk in a Chilly bottle and ice cold filtered water in a large glass bottle were provided each day too. The bathroom was very spacious and bright, with quality toiletries, flannels and thick bath robes provided. There was also a basket of new items to help ourselves to in case we’d forgotten anything - toothbrushes, shaving kit, bath sponge, sewing kit etc. The enormous bath towels were excellent quality. The blackout curtains and quiet backwater ensured we slept very well. The highlight of our stay had to be the breakfast which was ordered the evening before so it could be made fresh - and very fresh it was. The menu choice was the most varied and generous we’ve ever been offered. There were choices to suit every taste and appetite, from full (or any part of) English, freshly made waffles and pancakes, warm croissants and Danish pastries, toast, cereal, yoghurt, vegan and vegetarian options and the most amazing fresh fruit salad ever. Great care was taken with the presentation of the food and the taste and quality were exceptional. We were made to feel very welcome and spoilt during our 3 night stay and have already booked to go back. We just loved the delicious freshly baked raspberry and white chocolate muffins Annie sent us home with. Annie and Gerry should feel immensely proud of the wonderfully perfect experience they provide for their guests and their excellent reviews are very well deserved.

Lovely part of the Island to stay, near fabulous beaches.

Beforehand Louise was very helpful over the phone, so not surprising when we arrived she gave us a very warm welcome. The room was very nicely decorated and very clean. As it was a twin room we had to use the bathroom a few yards away, but that was not a problem as only us used it and we had a key. The breakfast was really lovely with so much choice and very tasty. We have recommended it to a friend and would stay there again.
