Amazing view from the room and huge room
Reviewed By tamfamilytravelWe had a very nice staying. We were right in the center of San Candido. Our two floors room was a big suite with a wonderful view of the Dolomites. We had a huge terrace where to enjoy the view. The breakfast was exellent and it was right in the winter garden in front of the Dolomites. Excellent location for visiting the village and skiing on Monte Baranci.

Our hotel is in a central location in the heart of the village, and yet well away from any hustle and bustle, directly behind the Museum of Tourism on the Rienza river.The Hotel Rose is homely and comfortable atmosphere is sure to appeal to you. The 25 comfortably furnished rooms all have a shower / WC, television and phone, and some also have a balcony. An inviting bar, comfortable lounges and a lift will all add to the ease and enjoyment of your stay here. We have a large garden where you can while away a few hours.

Reviewed By MnNanookThe Hotel Rose is conveniently located on a quiet street near the town center. A small stream flows through town and next to the hotel which helps to create a peaceful stop on your journey. All of the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions or needs. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and charming. Tables outside the hotel were a relaxing place for a beer and conversation with other travelers. Our dinner at Hotel Rose was delicious, with plenty of choices, from octopus to wiener schnitzel. The buffet breakfast had many options, with the traditional sliced meats and cheese, fresh fruit, pastries, and bread. It appears the hotel is a popular stop for cyclists as they bike through the Tyrol valleys. We would definitely stay here again. Everything in Niederdorf is within walking distance. The church and cemetery are good stops. Outside Chiesa di Santo Stephano, the main church built in the 1790’s, there is a Gothic 15th century chapel. Inside there are several paintings by well-known Austrian artists of that time. The cemetery is a reminder of how WWI impacted the lives of so many families in this area. Up the hill from town is a small apiary. It is interesting because the beehives are gathered together in units of ten. Continuing up the hill you have a beautiful view of the town and valley.

An excellent choice as a base to visit the Dolomites
Reviewed By Jean-Paul BOur second stop during our 6 week trip around Italy. We stayed from Sept. 13th through 16th at Hanslerhof. We chose Hanslerhof because we felt it was quaint and comfortable. Indeed it was and surpassed our expectations. Our room in a chalet style was very large with 2 separate large beds as required. The bath room was very modern and well equipped. Everything was immaculate and we had a nice view on the mountains. The breakfast is quite an experience and looks more like a lunch or even a dinner. Helmut and Alexandra (?) are tremendous hosts. They provided very good information about restaurants and sites like lake of Braies. We highly recommend this "farm house" as a base to explore the Dolomites

Reviewed By cooperh966This hotel cancelled the reservation that we had with booking.com less than an hour before our arrival saying they had overbooked. I do not speak German but my girlfriend does, but not perfectly. When we tried to call the hotel to see what happened the owner got extremely frustrated at her and hung up because she could not speak well enough for him although he does not even speak English. The reason he told us he had cancelled our booking was because someone else showed up and offered more money since they did not book on a third party website. After receiving no apologies and no help in finding another solution I am very happy to say that we are no longer staying here. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

Reviewed By Stefan KAn accommodation is in Wahlen, which is a small city near Dobbiaco. We went there for hiking and it was an excellent choice. You can easily reach Lago di Braies or other beautiful places within 20 minutes by car. There are also ski resorts in surroundings. The room was clean and spacious with a bedroom, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. So, it could be an ideal choice if you´re travelling on a budget, because there are enough grocery stores in Dobbiaco. Staff was kind and friendly. There is also a free parking space.

Public transport is excellent. The centre of the village of Dobbiaco/Toblach has a very pretty square with a fountain. a great place to relax in the sun.

Excellent family-run hotel
Reviewed By PAshwellThis was my second visit to the Moritz Hotel in Dobbiaco to enjoy the superb cross-country skiing in the area. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly (and I am pretty critical if things are not just right!). The welcome is warm and genuine - when collected from the station after calling from the train - and the whole hotel is warm. The single bedroom was clean and bright, spacious en suite wc/shower room. The day started with a sumptuous hot and cold breakfast. The sauna and spa was exactly what my body needed after my return after a full day out on the tracks. Followed by a beer and tasty supper. You will only be disappointed when you have to leave and are dropped off at the station, with a genuine smile and invitation to return. Which I certainly will be doing.

It is a small hotel with a restaurant as part of the building. Some rooms are over the (very quiet) road directly opposite. All our rooms were spacious and comfortable, with balconies. Breakfast was fine. Not a vast choice, but ample quantity. We are in the restaurant and the service and food quality were excellent. I would recommend this hotel and location. Great break.

Very small rooms impossible for two people
Reviewed By uronyLet's start with the good things: Breakfast was great, fresh and rich. The landlady was very nice when we met her before leaving. The scenery from the garden is majestic. The main problem was the room itself. It was tiny and so was the bathroom which was so tiny there was not enough room for the sink, so the sink was in the main room, making it impossible for one to brush his teeth while the other is asleep. The shower was very small, not a place to put the soap but outside of it. It was so small that it got easily flooded. The TV screen was just above the head of one of the beds. not only making its impossible to watch but also a danger for the head when stretching up. Only two electric sockets: one above the middle of the bed (unuseful while sleeping) and the other above the sink. Hard to recharge phones laptop etc during the night. The front rooms are very close to the main road and therefore a bit noisy. When we came there was no one in the reception, they gave us the code to the building electric door and left us the keys, there was no one to talk to or ask questions (like where we can find dinner around) until the morning. There was a free WIFI but it was a bit slow and sometimes got stuck. It is not an expansive hotel. yet the dwellings where below the level for that price when comparing to other places we've been to in Italy.

Reviewed By ilonaw217Very nice hotel 10 minutes from the ski lifts. The family atmosphere, the location in the center of the village. We spent a nice ski trip with the family. The hotel is not luxurious but sufficient to spend a nice time during the winter holiday break.
