What a great place on super safe and sandy beach. My instructor, professionally certified for both lifeguard and Surfing instruction really helped me progress in such a short time. I was in a group of beginners and more advanced surfers and we were all individually coached within the lesson time limit. Definitely a school for the whole family. I Highly recommend Hunter Surf School in Woolacombe! Thanks Team Hunter!! had a great time!

We walked from Mortehoe church out and round the point, taking a picnic with us and loved it. You can have walks of varying lengths and difficulty. Respect any live stock and keep to the prepared routes. I first came here 40 years ago and the Point remains an absolute treasure every time. Back in Mortehoe, you can decent pub food or sandwiches or ice cream. Still feeling energetic go down to Woolacoombe beach and walk to Putsbrough. If you do the lot, you will feel fantastic, knackered but full of memories. Go for it!

I've always wanted to try Surfing, so I decided to book a myself a group Surfing lesson with Surf South West. When I arrived it turned out that I was the only one in the group (probably because it was off-season). I had my one-on-one lesson with Jack. Jack was really friendly, enthusiastic and made everything super clear and really easy to understand. We ended up having the whole of the sea to ourselves for 2 hours and I managed to stand up fully twice, which was amazing. I would definitely recommend this surf school and in particular a lesson with Jack.

A recommendation from a friend, and what a good one! This Beach stretches about 2 miles up to Woolacombe, so even on a busy weekend it didn't feel crowded. Definitely preferable for us in comparison to Woolacombe Beach. Great Beach Café, where food is cooked freshly for every order. There are good toilets on site and plenty of parking close to the beach. We spent every day of our week in Devon here with our body boarding teenagers, and it was fantastic.

South West Coast Path Walk - Ilfracombe and the Torrs

This 3.2 mile route on the South West Coast Path travels through a long wooded valley to The Torrs, a rugged area also known as 'The Seven Hills' with tremendous views across the Bristol Channel. Any walk around the town features steep gradients, but the magnificent cliff scenery towering above the picturesque harbour makes it worth the effort.

There are so many walks in and around North Devon and the South West coast path offers so many beautiful routes but the path between Ilfracombe and Lee Bay really is quite spectacular!
Whichever time of year you visit, the ever changing landscape will always amaze you and any place you stop to take in the views is just wonderful. England countryside at it's absolute best!

The organisation of the trip was great, good training and involved in all the aspects of getting ready to fly. Amazing how quickly you take off we ran for about 4 paces and then we flew. Great views of Woolacombe - we were the only people in the air.
Best bit was flying about 20 meters above a buzzard - not a sight you get to see any other way - and just followed him - indeed flying like a bird.
Flight was about 25 minutes and the video recording is excellent a superb record of the take off, flight and landing. Sam is a great instructor.

I booked a kids Surfing lesson during Easter - the temperature was 8 degrees, so there was no way I was getting in the water but the kids (9 and 10) were insistent. Their instructor, Ian, was amazing. He ensured they had winter kit, including gloves, boots and hood. Their safety and enjoyment was paramount. Ian got both of them standing up after a bit of tuition - they really felt like pro surfers with the encouragement he was giving them. Although Mum and Dad were frozen on the beach, I think the kids would have stayed in all day with Ian if they could!
