Ancient pilgrimage place devoted to the founder of Benedictine congregation. Lots of devoted visit asking for health miracles. Despite the religious leit motiv it is a place with a superb view. Worth the visit if near by. Very popular and folk market too.

The view is just breathtaking!!
The area surround it is just gorgeous and it's a great place for a picnic.
This viewpoint is accessible by car (there's enough area for parking). Alternatively, you can hike all the way up (not easy..).
Highly recommended if you are in the Peneda-Geres National Park.

Geres is the only National Park in Portugal . We are born and live in Geres and we want to share with you all the magical places we know. Rivers, landscapes, Waterfalls villages and the people .
The day trip we spent in the Mountains of Geres yesterday ( 30 August 2017) was an unforgettable experience! Tailor made for our needs as fit pensioners we hiked, we lunched and drove all over the area above Geres with our guide, Carlos.
This area of Portugal is stunning but not for the faint hearted! With the help of a guide we felt confident and knowledgeable by the end of the day. It was the highlight of our 3 day stay in Geres. Well worth saving your pennies for these tours!

Pulled at high speed by a motor boat on an inflatable sofa - Fabulous. The kids loved it. The parents loved it as they sat in comfort on the boat as Pete and his son Ricardo pay a lot of attention to safety, whilst giving the kids the thrills and tumbles they delighted in. Cannot recommend it enough, but make sure you choose 'Pete's place' though. Not for the faint hearted but our 8 year old and her 13 and 15 year old brothers nominated it as the highlight of a lovely holiday

Three of us had a beautiful day of guided hiking, plus a fabulous homemade gourmet lunch, with Geres4U. The scenery was wonderful--pristine Waterfalls into very green, clear pools, cascades, expansive vistas. Our guide was the best ever, very knowledgeable, warm and friendly, and proud of the beautiful area in which he had grown up. Lunch at the resort was part of the deal, and it was unforgettable. On top of all this, there were no crowds, just a few other tourists and locals here and there. Highly recommended!

This is a unique place, in top of a natural huge stone. You also got the statue of virgin Mary protecting the city, a restaurant/coffee shop, an old church, and an old (small castle). We could enter the castle, but not the main tower, which was supposed to be open that day. The tower says in Portuguese it is closed 2 days of the week, Tuesday I think, and Wednesday, and then in English Tuesday and Thursdays, which is confusing at best, however it was a Friday and it was closed too. Nevertheless, a place worthy a visit if you are driving nearby Braga.

Beatiful! Day light hiking combined with top deepsky observation! Paula Oliveira knows the place like nobody else and she is great in logístics as she understood easily how to carry a big Dobson telescope to 1200m. Thanks Paula!

We are specialized in Outdoor activities such as horse riding, horse-drawn carriage tours, hiking, among others, in the unique set of Peneda-Geres National Park. It's the opportunity to see the Garranos, wild horses from Geres, or go for a walk in the ancient Roman road (Geira) Situated in one of the Gate Parks in Campo do Geres, Terras de Bouro, just 40 minutes from Braga.
We booked a half day horseback ride for six people online. Miguel Faria and the staff could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Due to rain on the day of the ride, Miguel changed the itinerary to have lunch at a local restaurant instead of the usual picnic. This worked out well. We very much enjoyed the route that the ride took. The horses were well cared for and easy to ride. Miguel is willing to do whatever it takes to meet his clients needs. This day was a highlight of our trip to Portugal.
