My daughter and I spent a most enjoyable morning with Deanna and Henry at Lindsay Springs Alpacas. It was a very friendly atmosphere, four delightful alpacas who behaved very well on our walk in the delightful Derbyshire countryside. We made a felt alpaca to take home and were treated to a coffee and a delicious slice of cake. I would recommend this experience very highly. Helen Chappell

The White Hart Inn

Reviewed By WanderingWelshBear - Endon, United Kingdom

Stayed overnight on a very favourable rate for B&B. Check in was quick and easy and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming. Room was warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Bathroom only had a shower in it, but this was also spotless and the water was hot and plentiful. Had a fantastic evening meal in the restaurant which was busy for a Saturday night at the start of January. The staff were welcoming, attentive but not over bearing. Our meal was fantastic. Mrs Bear had the beef and I went for the vegan Buddha Bowl. We had sides of red cabbage and salad. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed it and had no room for pudding so opted for liqueur coffees instead. Our breakfast in the morning was excellent as was the service. This was our first time at The White Hart- it certainly won’t be the last. Couldn’t fault a thing and thought all round it offered exceptional good value and a high standard of service. Thank you.

War Memorial Alfreton

I was brought up 25 yds from this monument in the old butchers yard I remember many years of attending on nov11th and later years as the local boys bregade and later as scout leader Some of my relatives are remembered on the stone I can just remember the car park at the side being a bus station as this spot was then more of the centre of alfreton (commerce ) than it is now . It still remains a wonderful place to stop and spend a few minutes remembering that this nation.once all stood together and what the members names carved in stone gave for us ,as they say. if you forget the mistakes of the past ,you are bound to repeat them in the future. Long my this and.others monuments stand as a poinnent reminder

Alfreton Park

We visited the play area with a pre-schooler then had a lovely walk through the woods. Nice and sheltered under the trees and we saw plenty of wildlife especially squirrels ???? Big open spaces too if that’s what you want. Play area is suitable for all ages though too. Good parking area and a nice walk up through to Alfreton ????

Alfreton Antiques Centre

Reviewed By Sightseer758094 - Sheffield, United Kingdom

Called in with my wife and was delighted to find a proper antiques shop. I collect Militaria and was delighted to find a well stocked cabinet downstairs. The dealer made a point of guaranteeing all his stock has authentic, with a money back guarantee which impressed me.They had a good choice of stock and some genuine WW2 German Nazi items. I don't have a any problems with this as it's History and that's one thing you can't change. If it offends you don't look, simples, lots of other items for all tastes. Will definitely call again as it's nice to see proper Antiques instead of the overpriced junk that seems to be in a lot of these shops these days. The lady who served us was very knowledgeable and helpful, I think she realized we were genuine customers, I imagine the very nature of her business attracts more then it's fair share of 'tyre kickers' which must become very tiresome.
