Been going to dengates farm stall for many years now .David has a good choice of tree as he grows them himself. All sizes at a good price would recommend as you can't get fresher you pick it they cut it then or reserve it for later.

Art and Soul Gallery

Art & Soul is an independent Gallery featuring a diverse selection of contemporary art from talented artists and makers, including work by resident artist Emma Miller. We proudly support our artists by ensuring they receive the lions share of the profit, so a purchase from Art & Soul really does go directly to the heart of the creative community. Each of the beautiful pieces in our gallery is also available as a limited edition print, which helps support both the artist and the gallery, as well as making inspirational art more accessible to all. Each is carefully printed in a Hahnemuhle certified studio on the finest Archival Art Papers or Heritage Cotton Canvas. Bespoke framing, custom finishes and a full range of beautiful papers are also available on request.

Great little gallery where Emma the owner sits painting and chats to you as you wander round to look at the array of items on sale, from paintings to postcards, jewellery and quirky books. Other galleries in the town are stuffy and expensive - this one is super-friendly, moderately priced and showcases the work of local artists. Definitely worth a browse - and browsers are welcomed

Rye Waterworks MIcropub

The Rye Waterworks is the first Micropub to open in South East Sussex. It is situated in a building steeped with history originally a water pump house for 300 years then a soup kitchen dating from the 1890s that's now been opened up as a feature within the micropub. A family business serving eight local ales and twelve local ciders along with a selection of wines, local gins, local vodka & local soft drinks. We're listed with CAMRA (campaign for real ale) and welcome families, dogs & people just wanting to have a nose around.

Spike Milligan's Grave

Reviewed By JuneBug1939 - Weston super Mare, United Kingdom

Not much there but a tombstone, but it IS Spike Milligan's tombstone. We just had to see it and we came to the pretty little town/village of Winchelsea especially. Spike was Irish and wanted "I told you I was ill" on his headstone, so it was engraved there in Celtic. He would have loved to have seen it! Bless his memory! Making us laugh even at his death. My dad loved Spike - praise indeed!

Broomhill Sands

Reviewed By hawkes2an - Cranbrook, United Kingdom

Adjacent to Camber Sands is that beach's apparently quieter neighbour, Broomhill Sands. Whilst Camber Sands has the cafes and the amusements, the only apparent amusement at Broomhill Sands is the very interesting garden (not accessible but can be viewed) at Seascape, one of the beachside properties. You also know when you have arrived at Broomhill Sands because there are two very distinctive notices; one telling you that you are leaving the lifeguard supervised area at Camber Sands and the other pointing the way in which dogs must be taken in the months from the beginning of May until the end of September [in that period dogs are not allowed on Camber Sands whilst, on Broomhill Sands, they are allowed all the year round.] You will also find Broomhill Sands is a totally different beach. Whilst Camber has the flat sands, Broomhill has shingle with groynes which, whilst not as easy to walk on, can be much more interesting to look at. Parking is available at Camber Sands or further along the Lydd Road at Broomhill Sands itself.

Mary Stanford Lifeboat Disaster Memorial Window

Reviewed By johnhouston2 - Knaresborough, United Kingdom

Unless you are a particular fan of ecclesiastical glazing, there are so many stained glass windows in churches that it is easy to give them nought but a passing glance. Having previously visited the old lifeboat station and read up about the tragedy, there was no chance of that happening here. And although it’s perhaps stating the obvious, a window that commemorates a person or an event that we can relate to is somehow far more relevant, and emotionally touching than the run of the mill religious iconography. I’m very glad to have seen this.

St. Mary's Parish Church

For more than 900 years the Parish Church of Rye, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin, has dominated the hill on which the old town stands. Today, if you wish, you can climb the church tower where, from the top, you can see magnificent views of Rye and the surrounding countryside. St Mary's is open to visitors every day of the year, except for Christmas Day, from 9.15Am - 5.15Pm in summer and 9.15Am - 4.15Pm in winter. Admission to the church is FREE. The Visitor Centre stocks a good range of postcards, Christian greetings cards, prayer cards, books, gifts and Christian jewellery. The Tower, which is open every day (weather permitting) for a charge, has become a popular place for marriage proposals!

Well worth the very narrow stairs and ladders to get the best view of the town and particularly Rye Castle.
