Currier Museum of Art

The contextual components explaining Saint Gaudens work both visually and through interpretive signage were fabulous. The full bust studies of Shaw and some of the soldiers were worth the visit alone- if you, like I, love the Bronze relief of Shaw and the 52nd Massachusetts Regiment, this section of the exhibit is worth the visit alone.

Visitors are able to get close to the exhibited sculptures and examine the stunning work. Plaster casts juxtaposed with bronze castings allows for some comparison of the intricacies of the work. Sketches, scale drawings with measurements, and a displayed sculpted wood/metal, and semi precious stone panel from JJ Astor's home also illustrates the depth of Saint Gauden's abilities.

Letters to Saint Gaudens from President Theodore Roosevelt are fascinating and funny.

Saint Gauden's Historical Site in Cornish NH is one of our favorite places- the bronze relief of the 52nd Regiment there and in Boston always makes me weep- and we have seen a lot of Saint Gauden's work in context (i.e. NYC) so we could have been bored. Not at all....The Currier's display is a not to be missed exhibit.

High 5 Ballooning

Excellent adventure from start to finish. When you take a flight with High 5 Ballooning, you will quickly get the impression that Tony Sica [owner and pilot] runs his business with one question in mind; “If a were a client, what would define the perfect flight experience for me? As it is with most things in life, it is the small things, the little details that matter, from a clearly enthusiastic pilot, to having the balloon chasers taking photographs from the ground along the way, to the nice picnic at the end in a nice, scenic area.

As a person who has flown in balloons many times over the years in different locales and varied conditions, Tony is at the top of the list. He will work with you to make your flight experience a memorable one. From my experience, there are two kinds of people who provide a good or service: Those who do their job and those who do their job well. Tony certainly fits the latter category and is the consummate professional from start to finish. Thanks, Tony <and Chase Crew>!

New Hampshire's largest winery was a fun experience. The wines were OK. After all, you're in NH. It's also a distillery. You can try 5 samples (total) for $5.00. If you buy a bottle, the tasting is free. I tried 3 wines, gin, and maple liqueur. Some of our party liked the whites (Niagara and Cayuga). Others liked the port. We took a bottle of the maple liqueur home. I wish they had indoor seating. We would've enjoyed having a glass at the winery.

My cousin Nick married Nicole this past Friday. The wedding took place at Zorvino's Vineyard in Sandown,NH. The grounds were very nice and of course decorated with all types of fall flowers and pumpkins etc. While they were taking pics we went to a wine tasting for $5. I'm not really into sweet wines but the Reisling and the Mano wines were very good. There was also one with tones and spicy. We had bacon wrapped scallops, steak teriyaki, stuffed mushrooms ans marinated chicken that were distributed by wait people. All were fantastic. There was a cheese, veggie, fruit and cracker buffet that would make you cry. It did me. I'm the Queen of Cheese and these past few weeks I've been abstaining to diet. Well I fell off the wagon. The Brie OMG and the hot spinach and artichoke dip❤️. For the main course I had the prime rib, cooked to perfection. My husband had the chicken with cranberry bread stuffing, what little there was. He said it was just ok. At the end of the night there was pizza which was also very good. The place itself is very nice for a wedding. Of course the bride and groom were the highlights of the night. Congratulations Zorvino's for making their day special.

Great to be able to buy online and reserve your seats. Theaters are clean and roomy with good seats. As with any movie theater; expensive popcorn, drinks, etc... Plenty of parking plus lots of places to eat before or after right in the same plaza.

Massabesic Audubon Center

The Massabesic Audubon Center is located on a historic farm site just minutes from downtown Manchester and bordered by acres of rolling fields, forest, wetlands, a pond, streams, and marshes. The site has been preserved as a wildlife sanctuary that encompasses a diverse array of upland habitats. There are more than five miles of trails for hiking at any time of year.

The pilot, Andre, and his crew are amazing and made sure everyone was having fun. They are professional, knowledgeable, and lots of fun. Andre has lot of experience. We flew with two other balloon companies and Andre has trained both of the pilots. We were all encouraged to help out with all the launch preparations which was definitely part of the complete experience they gave us. The flight was fantastic and Andre would spin the balloon so everyone could view the spectacular scenery! We had a champagne toast after the flight and the pilot and crew shared ballooning history. I would definitely recommend A & A Balloon Rides!!

Palace Theatre

Reviewed By donfisher12 - Nashville, Tennessee

We have seen several plays and shows at the palace Theatre this past year. The theater has a rich history, modeled after the palace theater in NYC. This turn of the century theater has the old time charm and is fully renovated. The architecture is amazing, sound and lighting is great and the seats are comfortable for a 2 hour show. There are concessions and drinks available. Only draw back is one restroom each for men and women, so the lines can get long. Great place to see theater, I highly recommend this place to see a play, dance or show at! Great mix of talented acts are scheduled each month. Tickets usually run around $40-$50 per seat.
