Skinaria Beach

Beautiful small beach, usually protected from the wind, we go there regularly because we really like the food in the Taverna, and (call us spoiled north Europeans, but we are on our holidays!) the beach staff bring us our coffees to the sun beds. Heaven.

This beach is a little remote and far from rethymno but its definetely worth it to visit at least one time! Big coastline that you can swim and relax.

Kourtaliotiko Gorge

A long and pleasant walk along the gorge through breathtaking scenery, past Waterfalls, Fountains, deserted chapels and monasteries, to an authentic palm beach at Preveli. You can even catch a glimpse of a lammergeier if you are lucky. Watch out though for slips and trips - stout shoes essential.

Wow..... we stopped off here on our Cretan Safari. We had the place to ourselves for a while till a coach load shattered the peace and quiet. It was amazing watching the vultures soaring high above our heads and looking down into the spectacular steep sides of this amazing gorge.

Damnoni Beach

Reviewed By ZapMol - New York

This is an awesome beach that has excellent places for lunch and very calm sea no matter how windy and rough the north shores get. Sandy with very clear water, good for swimming and snorkeling. Reasonably easy to get to from Rhethmno. Prefer this area relative to Elafonisi as it's much more civilized overall with ease of access, good restaurants etc.

Souda beach

Reviewed By George T - Agii Apostoli, Chania, Crete

These crystal dark blue waters and small stones on this beach makes this beach unique! If you like to swim and enjoy the serenity of this place its best to go before August because then its the most crowdy. There are also rooms to let on this area its about 5 minutes distance from Plakias by car. And also some good tavernas to try the cretan gastronomy.

Nice but quite small. Drive over chania beach west end park there. It is quite steep so it is better to stay close to the sea. Good clean water.

Rodakino Beach

Reviewed By Stella C - Réthimnon, Rethimni, Greece

There are 3 Beaches at rodakino.....the first one is Kodakas beach with very small stones, clear water and the beach is big enough....not to feel crowed. The second beach is called polyrizo. Its a smaller beach with sand, usally is full with families with small kids. And the third beach called Agia Marina...its a hidden beach...just for few people. There Is a very nice place to eat with really greek homemde dishes. I am sure you will enjoy yourself there!!!
