After researching all of the spas in the Newport area, it seemed that SpaVana had the best overall ratings, so I called and booked a couples massage for our first wedding anniversary. I would recommend to book in advance, as there were only two openings left, the week before. We were lucky enough to have Grace and Rachel that morning, and had the most relaxing massages ever! Not only was everyone so welcoming and warm, but we were given personal attention as well, which we can really appreciate. After having some delicious hot tea, we retreated to the couples massage room and enjoyed the 'Girls Wanna Have Fun' package, which included a mini facial and massage for a total of 75 minutes. If we could've extended the time, we most certainly would have! It was so relaxing and the perfect pressure! The mini facial was cool and soothing, and smelled just like a chocolate donut! My husband could barely speak afterwards because he was so relaxed! That's exactly what we were looking for! We loved meeting Grace and Rachel, and would absolutely come back again for massages next time we're visiting the area! Thank you, SpaVana for making our one year wedding anniversary even more special!

Rocky Brook Orchard

This is a pick your own apples orchard, but they do have a few pears, and peach trees. They provide you with an apple picker, a bag, and a wagon if you would like. We didn't bring children but I wished we had gotten the wagon because we had a 1/2 bushel bag to carry around and we're retired. They are very friendly and helpful at the shed. Most any questions you may have they would probably know. If your looking for good family fun this is a great place.

Sachuest Beach (Second Beach)

One of Newport's most popular beaches.

Love this beach. The sand is soft and clean and the beach is usually not as crowded as some of the other beaches in the area. The rest rooms are clean. The parking price is reasonable and you can usually get a spot even if you get there after lunch.

Calm waters and a wide sandy area make this a favorite spot for families with children.

I went on a week day in September and was practically alone, which is what I wanted. No trouble social distancing. Water is calm and a tad coolish but nice. I was able to take my top off which is always a plus. Saw no facilities except portable toilets. Make sure you bring your fluids and food if you want it.
