I'm still learning to surf and this beach is ideal. The water is shallow, the ocean floor is soft sand, and the waves (at least when I was there) are mellow. Great place to spend the day.

One of the many railway Bridges in the area. Get the train timetable, arm yourself with a good camera, and shoot!! Nt just a place for railway enthusiasts (I never thought i was one, until I saw the Bridges - and the great locomotives rolling into Senzu station ...)

I loved this place it was so cool. I have never fed a toucan let alone held one or even touched an owl. Great for toddlers and up. Bring extra money so you can buy all the food you want to feed the birds with! There are tons of different ones and you can feed fish if you want as well. Unforgettable experience. A must do!!!!! (Unless you are scared of birds)

Cannot help feeling nostalgic when it blows the whistle.
You can enjoy the ride seeing deep green of the Mountains and tea plantations in spring time.
At JR Kanaya station, you can take Oigawa Tetsudo to Senzu station, but if you want to get on the sl particularly, I reckon to check the timetable beforehand as the sl is available once a day on weekdays, and three times a day on weekends. Worth a visit.

Koyama Castle is a nice place to visit, if you like Japanese Castle. For purely for historical viewpoint, five-storied keep has no historical grounds. There never was a keep. Ironically thanks to the tenshukaku-shaped Observatory, you can see the dry moat structure very clearly. Another scenic interest maybe 1000-year old cycads in Nomanji temple at the entry of the castle ruin.

Yokochi castle is a mountain castle of Muromachi period. It truly has large area and it takes about two hours to see the major enclosures of the castle. It is advised that you start walking around the castle ruins from the Shrine area which is close to the honmaru enclosure where you can have a wonderful view. Most of the trails are well-paved and it is a nice place for a stroll. Guide boards are well placed (though in Japanese).

以前は良く訪れていましたが、暫らくぶりに訪ねてみました。静岡空港が出来てから道路がどこから繋がっているのかわからなくなって静岡空港の無料駐車場から歩いて行きました。２月１６日に完成したばかりの石雲院展望デッキができていました。石雲院本堂へは展望デッキの入り口から下り坂を少し下ったとことにあります。山門はとても大きくて圧倒されてしまうほとです。お参りを済ませて早速展望デッキに行ってみました。展望デッキからは富士山静岡空港が目の前に見えて、飛行機の離着陸も目の前に、富士山や粟ケ岳が晴れた日には綺麗に見えます。空港の滑走路や誘導路がとても近くて、飛行機のパイロットが出発時に誘導路を通過中に手を振っているのも見えるほどです。展望デッキには休憩所もあって、１０：００～１４：００は静岡茶かコーヒーの無料サービスもあり、お盆の上にお茶をのせてくれるのでゆっくり飲むことができます。空港内でもお茶のサービスはありますが。大勢のアマチュアカメラマンが県外からも訪れていて、新名所のひとつになりそうです。

今まで数回行ったことがありましたが、小山城に行くために寄ってみました。今まではJR六合駅から歩いて行きましたが今回は車で行きました。駐車城はイベントがない限り十分な駐車ができます。毎月第一日曜日は地場産品の販売イベントがあるようです。駐車場から２０Mくらいに能満寺の本堂があります。門の外に小さな蘇鉄が数本ありました。山門をくぐるとすぐ右手に蘇鉄がありました。地元の友人から蘇鉄の言われを聞いていましたが、あまり記憶には残っていません。天然記念物ってなっていましたが、何も書いてなければ普通の蘇鉄です。
