Macroom (/məˈkruːm/; Irish: Maigh Chromtha) is a market town in County Cork, Ireland, in the valley of the River Sullane, halfway between Cork city and Killarney. Its Irish Gaelic may translate as "meeting place of followers of the god Crom" or "crooked oak", the latter a reference to a large oak tree that apparently grew in the town-square during the reign of the English King John. Its population has grown and receded over the centuries as it went trough periods of war, famine, forced emigration and intermittent prosperity. In a 2011 census, the urban area was recorded as 3,879.

A magical fairy garden in the heart of Macroom Town. Suitable for all age groups, young and not so young. Plenty to see down low, and up high. Fairies lurk all around among the trees, where childrens imagination runs wild. Picnic tables, and benches plentiful were you can just sit and read or drink a coffee. Experience the calmness that everyone speaks of, and experiences in the place. History ooses here from Famine long ago. Maybe thats why the place has such peace, and calmness. Enjoy everyone.
Tiny Feet Fairy Garden in Macroom is a very special place, so peaceful and relaxing, there's something about this place that's good for the soul. When you go in the gate you forget that you are in the middle of a town and while you are there it's like you leave all your baggage at the gate, almost become a child again and enjoy some carefree time in the land of the fairies. There is plenty seating where you can sit back, relax and soak in the wonderful ambience of this special place and you can also bring a lunch and enjoy it at the picnic tables. We all need to slow down at times, I highly recommend a visit here, you will come away feeling rejuvenated.

Visited with family who were on holiday from Australia. We got to meet many of the team, with our host Mary being ever so charming and delightful, showing us around the factory, and giving us its history since 1976. We were treated to casting demonstrations, and the factory shop also has a wonderful array of goods including casting kits for beginners and experts, pewter mugs and hip flasks, and beautifully finished chess sets. Our highlight was the Battle of Waterloo exhibition which was on show during our visit (due to leave in November so catch it while you can). Just shows the creativity that a skilled modeler can create from what comes out of this facility. Will certainly be bringing more guests here, highly recommended.

I came to this church to get Mass during this lockdown, on Monday, Tuesday and today Wednesday, 29th April.2020. All Masses were a joy to attend, the priest said the words, especially at the Consecration, slowly, prayerfully and the prayers were so personal and kindly. I live in London and we hear so much about the decline of faith in Ireland, these Masses have given me great hope that Ireland has not lost all of the Faith of Our Fathers. God bless the priests and people of this parish.
