This is a nice temple complex about a 25 minute walk from the Kakogawa JR station. If you are in the area it's worth seeing but I wouldn't make a special trip to see it. There are a couple of people who work here who speak very little English. No English brochures and very little info in English.

博多行きの新幹線で西明石駅を過ぎてしばらくすると、右手にスゴい岩山が見えるので、なんだろうと思って調べると神社があるのを知って近くに来たので立ち寄りました。
明姫幹線から住宅地を抜けていきますが、近くに採石場があるらしく細い道をダンプが来たり割りと苦労します。
神社にお詣りして山頂へ。
大正天皇もお越しになられたとのことですが、見張らしは抜群でした。

創建が653年と非常に古い神社で、敷地も広く、本堂や植わっている松の木も大きく立派です。また、菅原道真公を祀っているので、青銅製の狛牛が非常に立派で目立ちます。秋の例大祭（10月に行われます）では、池にお神輿を沈める独特の神事がありこのエリアでは有名行事になっています。

This remarkable and unusual museum is "archaeology" in full, designed as an immersive experience with the whole family in mind. Prehistoric and historic exhibits are integrated with dioramas, reconstructions and videos; a room allows visitors to experiment with ancient crafts; the young visitor can try archaeological skills like reconstructing pots and even better, alongside an actual excavation site, there is a practice dig where you can excavate and find hidden objects. Then in the large garden, reconstruction of building from a prehistoric village. This place is quite an achievement. Enthusiastic and friendly volunteers included some who spoke English.

無料で入れる稲美町郷土資料館。水利が悪い、播州地区の救いの神ともなったことで有名な淡河川山田川疏水の説明はもとより、明治時代の幻のワイナリーとして知られる播州葡萄園、播州葡萄園跡の資料なども展示してあるのにはびっくりしました。兵庫県の歴史に興味のある人にはおすすめの施設です。

珍しい御朱印がいただけるとの事でこちらに伺いました。この近くの山に何度か登る事はあったのですが、その近所にこのようなところがあるとは知りませんでした。御朱印はたくさんの見本の中からイラストや文字を選べます。一つ描いていただくのに1,000円かかります。ただし、目の前で書くところを見られ、その後お経を唱えて頂けます。

高御位山は播磨富士と呼ばれるだけあって完璧なシェープです。頂上までは登りませんでしたがそれでも瀬戸内海が眺められ最高の眺望でした。地元の人たちが沢山登っておられました。

地元では初詣といえばココだそうです。参道にはかしわ餅の店が数件あり、お参りの帰りに寄りました。少し焼いたタイプのを食べましたが美味しかったです。

The finale to the Kakogawa Matsuri, this fireworks show features a wide variety of 5,000 fireworks, including musical fireworks and starmines. The fireworks are launched from the center of the Kako River, so spectators can have a seat anywhere in a 360-degree area around the launch site to watch the show right up close at the river's edge. The finale, featuring a terrific "Niagara Falls" display, is a can't-miss.

加古川まつり開催時に河川敷から打ち上げられます。去年に続き観覧しました。
周囲には背の高い建物が殆どないので、方角によっては道路上からも見え、家の二階の窓やベランダから観覧している人も多いのどかな花火大会です。
焦って時間を気にして早くから行く必要がないのも良いです。
