Watt Munisotaram

Reviewed By JesseWhite - Fitchburg, Wisconsin

I fist discovered the Watt Munisotaram when I was driving to Mankato from Prior Lake. I saw it peaking out as a drove along the highway and after I passed it, I knew I needed to google it and return for a visit one day. So, I googled it and returned about 2 years later for a real visit. The grounds are very well kept and the buildings, though aged, are in really great shape. I really enjoyed going through the buildings, meditating in the main building, talking to the locals preparing for a retreat, and taking in the surroundings. If you plan to visit, please read and respect the rules that are posted, wear shoes you can easily slip on/off, bring a cash donation, and your camera! I am sure to return.

The Minnesota zoo is in Apple Valley Minnesota which is roughly 15 minutes from Minneapolis our family has been there three times and we still enjoy ever visit. The zoo has a marine section where you can touch nurse sharks and stingrays and is very much an experience for the kids for sure. The dolphins show is free and the trainers are very good at putting on a show.
The polar bears have a fun with the guests last time we were there the polar bear was tossing a ball to the kids
There is camel rides at the zoo as well and is free no extras, they have a few areas in the zoo that are good for kids to play and they have gym equipment there too
The entry fee is rather heap considering the size of the zoo I have been to smaller zoos and paid more

Lebanon Hills Regional Park

This is a cute park, with loads of hiking trails. This is the place to go for locals when wanting to take a hike in the city, or there is a small little lake that gets packed on the hot days that locals rush to as well. Nothing out of the ordinary with this place, just a nice break from the city.

Apple Valley Aquatic Center

Reviewed By SaraGee - Apple Valley, Minnesota

Having just taken my girls to the indoor water park near MOA for the last time before it closed, I realized why I love the Aquatic center so much. It's CLEAN. The water is clean, the facilities are clean, the staff is really great with all the kids. I can't say enough good things about the AV Aquatic Center. My ONLY complaint is I wish they'd have some better food options. But that's minimal since I can also bring my own food in. I highly recommend this oasis... but get there early it fills up FAST on nice days.

Recreation area offers year-round fun: winter offers trails and parks for both skiers and snowboarders; summer offers tubing and mountain bike racing events for two-wheel enthusiasts.

My 10 and 17 year old daughters had a great time. We got there around 8:30am and stayed till almost 9pm. They had different level hills for all ski levels. This was the first time my daughters have skied so I had them take a 90 minute class. Once they finished the lesson, you couldn't get then off the hill. There was a warm area with chairs and a great view. We also did snow tubing. That was very cool and fast. They even had a nice warm fire to sit around. If we ever make it back to Minnesota we will be back. It made a ski lover out of us.

The Samsonite store featured deeply discounted artificially high prices on lower-end Samsonite products. A "better" 25" bag is arbitrarily priced at $300 then discounted 50% to $150 while a similar or better Samsonite product can be bought elsewhere for about $100. That and the disinterested staff made for a disappointing experience.

The Levis store does not carry pant sizes with a waist bigger than 40. The Crocs store had a good clearance sale.

Steeple Center

Reviewed By Craig O - Eagan, Minnesota

The atrium entryway, art gallery , meeting rooms and kitchen are the newest additions. The meeting hall, live theatre and chapel are the charming original church. Everything is completely renovated . The kitchen is set up for professional catering. Everything is perfect inside and out of the Steeple Center. Security and privacy weren't overlooked in the additions. The staff is extemely well trained and attentive.
I really can't compare this facility to anything like it. Very unique to say the least.
