We had arranged to hire clubs and were met by an extremely friendly member to complete that transaction. The clubhouse is warm and cosy with panoramic views of the bay. A great visitors course with so many different holes. The final hole is a brilliant short hole across the cliff and in you come to the deightful club house. Though I rarely get up so far North, I love this place!

I went here for my 50th birthday. It was stunning and very very special. White sand, blue sea, and freezing cold (it was January!). A must-visit part of the UK.

We were staying at Croft 103 which is on the north side of the village of Laid. Lotte is a very talented and creative artist. She has over the years populated her 14 acres with some of her art work. You are free and encouraged to wander the Croft and be surprised and amused at the artwork she has placed and hidden here and there in the vegetation. Well worth the trip and ti,e to wander.

A small but perfectly formed exhibition exploring the 3000 million years of geology of the far north west of Scotland. We also offer a wide range of geology tours tailored to all age ranges and prior knolwedge levels, led by geologist Bjorn Hardarsson. After visiting Bjorn’s exhibition on a rainy day (so much fascinating information packed into such a compact space), we decided to take the opportunity to enjoy one of Bjorn’s guided walks. It was a most enjoyable afternoon. Durness and surrounds is quite special geologically and Bjorn took the time to show us some of the fascinating geology of the area and explain its importance in our earth’s history. We were also treated to much local archeological and more recent history as a bonus. I would strongly recommend spending some time visiting the exhibition and if possible taking the time to join one of Bjorn’s excellent walks.

This is a lovely attraction; fantastic natural wonder. Very well thought out for visitors making it easy to access and explore. Gentle 15minute walk to and from cave. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or doing NC500.

We took the Cape Wrath Ferry from Keoldale Pier Sept 16th. I enjoyed the 11 mile, 50 minute bus ride to Cape Wrath. Our driver had so many amazing stories and observations to share as did our Ferryman who safely navigated the short distance across the Kyle of Durness. The Ozone Cafe was a welcome stop for tea, few souvenirs and friendly chat with John, the owner. The history and beauty of the location was frankly awe inspiring. I would not hesitate to recommend this visit and was so glad that we had good weather and there was room for us on the ferry and bus. We checked out the pier from Durness the night before to confirm when the next ferry would be leaving and that it would not be closed due to MOD activities. We took rain gear just in case and were so happy to be travelling that day with like minded travellers from all over the world who all seemed to enjoy the whole experience as much as we did.
