Ten Chimneys

Ten Chimneys is the estate lovingly created by Broadway legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne. With no ropes and nothing under glass, guests are treated to a VIP guided tour of a National Historic Landmark replete with original furnishings and overflowing with the romance of the 1930s and ’40s. “Every time I was visiting with the Lunts in Genesee Depot, I was in a sort of daze of wonder; the dining room, the table, the China, the silver, the food, the extraordinary care and beauty and taste…a sort of dream, a vision.”-Katharine Hepburn

The tour of this amazing place I had been curious about for years was wonderful. Full of history, romance, culture, and art! Such an amazing couple who found solace in Wisconsin! This is a gem of a tour and so unique! I'm glad they chose Genesee Depot for their hideaway and also glad it is now shared with the public!

Lapham Peak

My husband and I hiked for about two hours here in Fall on a weekday. It was a beautiful day, and we enjoyed the more difficult trails. The trails were not busy at all, which was really nice.

There are signs everywhere that people need to have their dogs on leashes, but we encountered a number of people hiking with their dogs not on a leash.

I would definitely recommend coming here!

Oliva Di Vita

Reviewed By Tucker1575 - Wales

If you are a foodie you have got to visit Oliva Di Vita in Delafield. They offer fine olive oils, infused and plain and many varieties of vinegars for sale. The store is beautiful and the owners and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They will educate you on the value of adding olive oil to your daily diet. They even track the "polyphenal" levels of their oils and provide that for you if you are into taking olive oil daily as a nutritional supplement. If you are not doing this, they can explain why you might want to think about it!!! They offer cooking demonstrations, informational seminars and cooking and recipe tips and ideas. Their aged basalmic vinegar is fantastic by itself or in a vinegarette. Their truffle oil is heavenly. They carry an expresso basalmic vinegar that makes a killer marinade for grilled steak. I don't think you will walk out of this store empy handed. It is not just shopping. It is motivating and you will want to make something when you leave.

Nixon Park

Reviewed By James T J - Pewaukee

As a resident of Hartland I often visit this park during my (infrequent) walks during the good weather months. It's an EXCELLENT park for all folks from senior citizens to kiddies. Nice "splash" area for the little ones to get wet and enjoy in the summer. Swings and gymboree type climbing and exploring areas for the kids too. Bark River runs by it and there's a nice little pond where a kid can drown worms trying to catch a fish or two.

Soul Fire Art Studio

Reviewed By nobadservice - Waunakee, Wisconsin

3 of us (adults) wanted to try glass fusing. I found Soul Fire Art Studio. It is a perfect place to try several different art projects. We were shown how to pick out a project, use the tools and pick out the glass. We had everything we needed and were free to work with supplies. The instructor was available anytime we had a question. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable so we could chat while creating our masterpieces. There are ceramics to paint, raw clay to work, and glass to fuse. If your project needs to be fired, you'll be contacted in about a week to pick it up when it's done.
You can reserve an area for a group. There is water, coffee and wine. Fun! We'll be back.

We found a gem of an art gallery here when we were looking to order an oversized framed wildlife print. We were offered custom ordering catalogs to browse through and the manager helped us personally, knowing exactly where to lookfor the desired selection. What we found: a gorgeous 4 foot print of an African Elephant headshot that captures anyone's attention when you walk into the room. The price was good and she was able to mount it for one fourth the price of all other competitor's quotes. This certainly will become our new one-stop for wall art. They also carry a small selection of pretty gift items.

Imagination Station at Roosevelt Park

This is a great place to bring your kid(s) and let them run around and enjoy all the cool equipment. I'd say they have things that can occupy kids from ages 2/3 - 10/11. If you kid(s) need supervision, be ready to hustle after them because this place is large and they can get away from you quickly.

A group of us girls got together at U Brew University to brew a special beer for ourselves for the holidays. We had no idea what to expect....we learned SO much about brewing beer! Our U Brew Professor was funny, informative and tolerant of us beer drinking ladies. He allowed us to participate in creating our beer by measuring the ingredients and adding them to our brew. It takes some time so be prepared to be there for a while. We didn't have a problem with that.....we had a few beers and cigars on the patio during breaks in the action. I would highly recommend this unique experience!!
