Berkhamsted (/ˈbɜːrkəmstɛd/ BUR-kəm-sted) is a historic market town close to the western boundary of Hertfordshire, England. The affluent commuter town is located in the small Bulbourne valley in the Chiltern Hills, 26 miles (42 km) northwest of London. Berkhamsted is a civil parish, with a town council within the larger borough of Dacorum. Berkhamsted and the adjoining village of Northchurch are separated from other towns and villages by countryside that is within the Metropolitan Green Belt and much of it classified as being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty(AONB).

The Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium with the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world. Throughout, its Seating is big and soft. It has been called luxurious. It is better. It is civilized. It reminds us of what we have long stopped expecting from public buildings.

Visited and saw the three billboards outside ebbing Missouri (excellent film great choice). The venue is very cool and well maintained. There are seats with tables downstairs we were upstairs in the back row but the view was great. There is a bar serving drinks and nibbles at very reasonable prices. When booking on the day the tickets came avaliable I called many times and the line was engaged so I managed to book online eventually but seats went fast.

Delta Force Paintball in Hemel Hempstead is located in the Hertfordshire hills providing a perfect backdrop for a day of paintballing. The centre is located on an abandoned WW2 American Airforce base, meaning it has unlimited parking space on the massive main runway. The centre has managed to incorporate much of the old airbase's surviving infrastructure into it's base camp and 7 game zones, including villages, large Castles, helicopters and graveyards.

Second visit this year. Ages of small party is 11. A smaller group (4) is easier to manage (10) and included 100 paintballs, which lasted after being sensible!!! (Earlier in year we had 100 paintballs but we wasted alot shotting targets!!) A great time had by all!

Tucked away in a lovely part of Hertfordshire is the delightful Frithsden Vineyard with its friendly welcoming staff and delicious cakes and wine. I have visited several times including mid-morning coffee, an afternoon vineyard walk with wine tasting and a pre-Christmas lunch for 24 members of the Verulam Thursday Cyclists! Catering for that many people can be hard for a small Enterprise but our lunch was superb, matched by excellent wines. The staff can cater for any bespoke event and design the perfect celebration. There is a calendar of regular events like Alpine, Spanish or Moroccan evenings and festive afternoon teas. The cosy indoors area also includes a small gift shop and for milder days you can enjoy sipping your wine (or tea) on the outside Terrace. Highly recommended and well worth seeking out.

Took 5 children who were delightfully entertained with a work sheet bought at the shop for £1 each. The museum is beautifully kept and so interesting. We have been many times and never failed to be entertained and informed.

As part of the Chiltern way, this is a well trodden path. On a clear day there are spectacular views over Aylesbury vale. Model plane enthusiasts make the most of the wind which is fairly constant, as it's very exposed. Lovely walks from here across to Ashridge or down to Ivinghoe and back via Edlesbourgh.

So. Writing this review on behalf on my dog, Thia.
We do the firecrest walk which is roughly an hour. Lots of super smells for my nose and I am safe.
I ran off away from my Daddy and got lost but the lovely rangers found me and took me back. I was so happy to see Daddy again!
I often come here with my cousin Casper. Casper loves the woods and always gets dirty he is such a mucky pup! Everyone is so nice and I love the cafe where they put water out for me to drink which on hot days I really appreciate.
My nemesis the squirrel lives in these woods. I often see him and I am positive he finds me wherever I go! Mummy says I am imagining it and there are lots of squirrels around but I am not convinced.
The only thing that I have noticed is that there aren’t many poo bins around so Mummy has to walk holding my poo in the bag which is not ideal but Mummy says we have to respect the woods and the people that go there.
I love Wendover Woods. A big paws up from me!

A place you must visit,it offers a great selection of wine, beer,& cider you can purchase or take home.it also has a fully licensed bar where you can enjoy various changing draught ales and cider as well as wines.The interior and exterior is pleasing on the eye and and good Seating both inside and outside is available, the product knowledge and good service here is not to be missed.I highly recommend a visit when visiting the Town.

I have been here numerous times but today was the busiest , in fact so busy I struggled to find parking. As people say it is full of designer fakes but some are so good that you wouldn't know. I bought some jumpers and trainers which are great and comfortable. In the summer I have bought track suits, shorts swimming trunks. you have to ignore the labels as the sizes are crazy. I always try on what I buy and a couple of times have taken stuff back the wrong sized items and changed without a problem. I steer clear of electrical items as you never know. I have bought suitcases from the stall at the beginning and the big lorry that is a mobile butcher shop has good meat ( sausages in particular ). One day he had a special on 2 ducks for £10 , I asked are they Aylesbury ducks and he replied no they are Bovingdon ducks. Well they were very nice. Fruit and vegs stall are good value. at the end of the shopping a good bacon & egg baguette at the Motown Cafe is a must.

The Ashridge Estate consists of 5,000 acres of woodland, chalk downlands and lush meadows. You can walk for miles and see a variety of wildlife such as Fallow deer and Muntjacs as well as the more common, foxes, badgers, squirrels etc. We have a well-stocked shop at our visitor centre, as well as toilets and a non-NT cafe, which serves hot meals all day long. If you need help when you arrive you will find a helpful volunteer on the reception desk who can point you in the right direction.

As to be expected at this time of year it is very muddy but the peace and quiet is wonderful. There is plenty of parking and an out door cafe if required with toilet facilities.
It is easy to wander away from the main paths and come across deer herds. There are well marked paths as well for the less adventurous.

Before (or after) exploring the 3-block High Street in Old Town Hemel Hempstead, a walk in Gadesbridge Park is in order. The paved pathways along the vast greenery welcome all. A skateboard park is located by a tiny bridge over a narrow waterway. Closer to the short path near the old church lies Charter Gardens---secret Gardens immaculately maintained. Benches offer up a nice place to stop and reflect. The Old Town Hall has free maps of High Street showing historical markers that share stories otherwise unknown.
