This was a great few hours spent meandering down the Garonne.
Boris was extremely informative and did his best to relay the conversation in Englishas much as possible (only English guy in a group of 5 other French speaking people).
I would highly recommend this excursion, it is fantastic and something different.

The Hostel Escape game

In this mysterious place, you will have to apprehend your environment, evolve in the middle of riddles in connection with this one, but also to advance in a history, the enigmas and the scenario being one. The goal is not only to leave the room but, as in the cinema, to know the end of the film.

Bordeaux wine tasting and wine tour with a wine maker, bike wine tour, tasting workshop at Chateau Bardins

Reviewed By angetom1 - San Francisco, California

My friend and I were looking for a one day cycling tour through vineyards, having done a small bus tour the last time we were in Bordeaux. We went to the TI in Bordeaux and were told the only cycling tour was on the day we left. Luckily another customer service person overheard and said "wait, we have someone who has just started doing small tours through the vineyards of the Pessac region" She called and spoke to Pascale who leads two and half hour tours through five or six Chateau vineyards in the Pessac region, just south of Bordeaux. We took the 11am train from Gare St Jean the next morning and 3 stops later jumped off at Cadaujac (about EU2.50 each) and were met by Pascale with bicycles. There were four of us on the tour and Pascale, who is a viticulturist by profession, led us through vineyards in the region and explained the art of wine making to us while we easily pedalled through delightful landscapes on a glorious day. Very informative and great fun. Mostly offroad through the vineyards with the odd foray onto quiet backroads. Ended up at Chateau Bardins, where she does wine tasting events, for a tour through the wine making process there and some wine tasting. Lunch can be provided for EU10 - we came prepared with our own and ate with the other couple on the tour. Easy bus ride back into town which takes about half an hour to central Bordeaux, so got back about 3:30pm. Tour was EU55 each and very much worthwhile. Highly, highly recommended. If you can't call yourself have the Tourist Information office do it for you and enjoy!

The states of the cities of Europe are what give the special flavor to them. This one has many love,y buildings, as well as a Fountain. What it doesn't have is benches. However, there are many little cafes close by. There is a impressive reflecting pool in front of it. Don't miss this point of interest when you are in the city.

If you know something about Bordeaux wines or nothing at all this wine bar is a must do attraction.. A wine list by the glass that changes monthly showcasing a range of sparkling, white, clairet, rose and red wines. Beautiful, comfortable air-conditioned setting, quality glassware and exceptionally modest pricing ensures you can try out a great range of the regions wines. Prices range from 2 euros to 8 on average and if you ask for "un demi" you'll get 15cl of wine per glass at half the price allowing you to sample a seriously wide range of wines. Have been here 5 times now and never disappointed.

This is a beautiful old gate with two clocks and a bell tower. The big bell was erected in 1775 and replaced an older bell that was damaged in the fire of 1774.
As a nearby plaque states, the bell was the 'bearer of all good and bad tidings to the people of Bordeaux.'
There are two different clocks, one on each side of the gate, so be sure to look at both sides.

We came to see the Fountains when it was already dark. What an impressive and glorious sight! Figures spouting jets of water everywhere in a truly magical display. A monument to those beheaded, I believe, by Robespierre.
