I have known this area many years, since childhood and seen lots of changes. It has now become a really tourist trap with little huts of craft work on display and for sale, food, the fish market is the best and service and the Crab and Winkle cafe excellent. New development of shops and food hall being built and it goes on with attraction. Really worth a visit day and night.

I have lived in this area for 11 years and worked in Whitstable for 4 years and only the other day did I discover this large, hidden away area! It covers 23 hectares and you can easily spend half a day here or longer. I visited with my daughters age 9 and 12. We spent 2 hours here but could have spent longer. There are grass areas with tracks to explore, various woodland areas, a stream, trees to climb, bridges to cross over and picnic tables plus, of course, fab views! (and more!) Plenty to keep children and adults occupied. There are several access ways into the park via residential streets. We parked near Hunters Close but there are about 5/6 other access routes in. A hidden away gem! Great for dog walkers too.

Having lived opposite Tankerton Slopes for the majority of my life, I can speak from plenty of experience. A great view from the top of the slopes. Parking is free all the way along the road running parallel. Always clean and the grass is usually kept short and neat. Colourful beach huts and benches along the way (both at the top and bottom). Ride your scooter/bike or walk along the promenade. Pubs and restaurants en route. Go take a stroll from the castle to the skate park! (Jojos, the cafe, The Marine, The Royal are en route)
